It Was Always You

 Hello and welcome!

Today's post will be a quick one, as I'm heading out the door shortly to celebrate our 38th Anniversay!
This card was made for.... well, you know who ~

Am I stuck on birds lately?  Well maybe, but that's only because I have several new packs in my mountain of products to be used!  I started with a new embossing folder, embossing the card front.  Then I foiled the new hex frame, with prismatic foil, onto some red cardstock and cut it down with my trimmer (I sure wish it had a die for all those wonderful angles!).  My new bird stamp was Copic colored, cut with its die, and popped up the card base.  I did contemplate a wobbler, but time was of the essence, plus I needed to stay somewhat serious, right?!  My new sentiment was "pressed" onto cotton card, and the "heart" added before attaching to the base.

What?  That heart looks a little wonky to you?  Well, think again, it's actually the worm die from the bird set!  haha - I thought it was quite appropriate.  I think Hubbs has warped my sense of humor, but then again it may have been wonky to begin with.

NBUS products

Birds, this one was obvious, right?!

all NBUS Supplies:
   HB - Diamond Plate e/f
   LDRS - Hex Frame pp
   Unity - Flock Talk
Splb - Always You Timeless Sentiments pp

That's it for me, thanks for the quick visit and see you hopefully soon!

Hugs,
TK

Happy Anniversary

We meet again!  Hello and welcome!

Today's card was given to Hubbs this past week.  Our 36th Anniversary, and he took me out to a wonderful dinner.  While it fell on a Tuesday (usually one of my longest workdays), the Lord had miraculous plans.  I not only got off on time, but I "flexed" some time and got off early - yay!

While I typically try to make a fun and a serious card, this year it fell to only the fun!  I ran out of time, and so this is what I came up with ~

Now, why would I give Hubbs a card with chocolates on it, you ask?  Well. it was definitely for the inside sentiment!  I stamped the outside sentiment, and then the chocolates with a new to me stamp set, heat embossed the designs on each piece, and die cut them out.  The base was die cut with a new frame die as well.  After stamping and cutting the sentiment, I opted to lop off two opposing corners to reflect the round chocolate shape.  And the inside sentiment, you ask?

"I knew you were truffle the moment you walked in"

Haha - a fun sentiment, thanks to Julie Ebersole!

This will be heading to NBUS #53 since two things made their debut on this card.

Supplies:
PFS - Essential Mini SL frame (NBUS)
   EH - Trufflin' (NBUS)
AE - Loads of Wishes (outside sentiment)

Again, another short post but I'm just trying to keep up with life here.  Lots of loops and valleys lately, so I may be out and about a little less frequently, but I will return as I can.  Have a great day!

Hugs,
TK

Butterfly Wings & Foil

Welcome!

Today I've come with a card for a couple challenges ~ CTD #699 and NBUS #40, plus I'll send this over to the Spellbinder's Glimmer kit gallery.

Notice that sentiment?  It comes via the Glimmer of the Month (June) kit; (secret - a sentiment close to my heart, I'll let you guess who).  I found a brusho background that had the perfect colors (don't see the lavendar?  zoom in...), cut it down, die cut the butterfly pieces, hot foiled the accents and sentiment, and assembled it together - easy peasy!

A closer look at the blues and purples.

Supplies:
SB - Stitched Butterflies glimmer kit, silver foil
Brushos, and smooshed ink on the butterfly base

Hope you are keeping cool from the heat wave, if you're in the midst of one -- our heat has finally jumped here, and I'd just as soon stay in and make cards!
Take care and enjoy a fun and safe Fourth!

Hugs,
TK

Two Cards (and a red face)

 Hello!

I've been quite absent, a lot going on and missing out on a lot too!  I won't go into details but needless to say I was DETERMINED to visit Darnell's final Twofer Challenge and get my final entry in.  Well that's where the red face comes from!  You see, I was so determined that I made the following cards, only to discover the challenge was for Dogs/Cats, not BIRDS!  Doh!  Sorry, Darnell!

So... here's my cards that will NOT be going to Twofer, but they do have a purpose...

Card #1 ~

An Anniversary card for Daughter #1 and SIL -- 10th Anniversary this year -- where oh where did the time go?!  I water colored the stamped/clear embossed birds, insides of the hearts, and background using my Zigs and a water brush.  The sentiment was heat embossed on vellum.

My second card will be entered over at Color Hues #24:  Turquoise and Coral.  Ta Da - I used my CP Inks, thanks, Michele, for the prodding!  The flowers/stems were stamped in the challenge colors, and then I stamped a bird with a DI, so I could do some light water coloring.  I then popped up the bird, and stamped a sentiment, so here's Card #2 ~

Supplies:
   W&W - So Tweet

Dkrm - Anniversary (sentiment card #1)

C&9 - You Are Lovely turnabout (florals card #2)
MFT - Adorable Adventures (sentiment card #2)

Thank you for your visit and your patience as I try to get back to a routine.  I hope to be visiting you all soon, if I haven't made it yet (my in box is really full)!

Hugs,
TK

Happy 34th Anniversary, Hubbs!

 Hello!

Another year, another Anniversary, another milestone, another year of wonder!  Today's our 34th Anniversary, and I'll be spending it off-line with Hubbs!

While I WISH we were celebrating it at the beach, we are not... however we are having some fun this weekend watching drag races!  This card came together due to an adorable image in a new set I recently received.  Yes, another cutie from CCC and Anita Jeram.  This was simply stamped, colored, die cut with a frame,  and popped up on the kraft base -- EZ peazy, as some say.

Supplies:
   CCC - A Fox's Life
   GKD - Scripty Sayings
   PF - Diagonal Stitched Rectangle

Hope you have a wonderful day!

Hugs,
TK

Happy Anniversary, Amazing Couple!

Hello!  Sorry I've been MIA lately but I have a quick post for today.  This card goes to my eldest daughter and son-in-law for their 9th Anniversary!  Here's to honoring them ~

This brightly colored wonder was a first - playing with AIs on Yupo.  I had fun, learned a few things and learned what not to do (yes, I got a brown smeared panel too).  After cutting down my panel, I layered it with a cover plate, then popped up the sentiment tag.

And a close-up ~

Supplies:
E by E - Bed of Roses CP
   AE - Load of Wishes

Hope your week has been wonderful and you blast into a fulfilling weekend.  God bless you.

Hugs,
TK

Happy 23rd, Hubbs!

Anniversary, that is!  Yep, it's our Anniversary and we're celebrating. I'll make this short, I'm sure you came here for the card and not the rambling about my wonderful guy!

I ink blended on the white cs, spread some crackle paste through a stencil over the inking, and let everything dry.  The kraft cs was then popped up, and the sentiment heat embossed and placed.  Here's a close-up of the crackle ~

Supplies:
LF - Inside Out Stitched Hearts
   DR - Anniversary (Sentiment
   PB - Smitten (sentiment)
MFT - All Lined Up (stencil)

I hope your weekend is awesome, and I'll see you in a few days!  God bless to all.

Hugs,
TK

A Peach of a Day!

Hello again!  I'll try to contain my excitement, but not only did I get a post out yesterday, but now I'm preparing another one!  On top of that... I created these cards AND  I making it just in the nick of time for a couple more challenges!  So here's to my peach of a day, hope yours was and is, too  :o)   Ok, enough of the goofy, onto the cards ~

This is my first attempt at no-line water coloring, and totally not successful!  My lines did not diminish into puddles of beautiful color nor blend out well at all.  Instead I had to pick up more color with a brush and add it in, leaving these peaches looking almost like lemons.  I used water color paper and Ranger inks, but I need ideas, Ladies, you are all so wonderful and I'm still a learnin'.  Needless to say, I do like the card.  I used the sketch at FMS #423, and I used my only stamp set containing a piece of fruit that I could find, totally amazing if you ever saw my stash   ;0)

My second card came from the beautiful color choices at  CTD #581 (gray, lime green, fuschia and purple), all I had to do was arrange them a bit (similar to the challenge image actually) and stamp the layers.  Once I was done, a sentiment kept coming to mind and OF COURSE I didn't have one in my stash, so upstairs to my desktop I had to run to print out my own sentiment to finish the outside, quite CAS.

I must admit I struggled with this one... I know, I know CAS but I must be OCD because I've noticed that I struggle with the "artsy looseness" of some stamp sets and I ended up "practice" stamping this about a dozen times trying to figure out how to get the perfect placement without going outside the lines -- just sayin', it can't be done!  Man I'm a dork... but I guess it's had me laughing at my own weirdness for a few hours.  On another note, that bottom peach is gray!  I realize it totally looks tan but it is MFT Hybrid Cement Gray, I promise, all my other grays have a bluish tint.

Ahhh, yes!  And because I wanted to join in over at Twofer #24, that's how all this peachy-ness came about in the first place!  I have to admit, I love the lemons and limes, and a special tugging from the beautiful berries I've seen, but alas I have a peach!  And after these two cards, well I've had a peachy day.  Here's my two cards together (again looking squarish to me, any advice with PS Elements?) ~

Here's all the challenges they'll be heading off to ~

I'll leave you with a list of my supplies, and fair wishes for a great day!  Thanks so much for stopping in and putting my with me today - I hope you had fun.   I truly love your visits and kindness, this online community is amazing!

Card #1 (encouragement):
   W+9 - Punny: Peach
LI - Stitched oval die (to round the top)
   ME - Blessed
   MFT - Blueprint die
   MCS - Ornate Label die
Card #2 (Anniversary):
   W+9 - Punny: Peach
My own computer generated, printed sentiment

Hugs,
TK

Anniversary Emboss & Cut

Another weekend, another card for a recent event - Wishing Dtr #3 and SIL #3 a Happy Halfiversary!  Just honoring the day that they married in a traditional ceremony amongst family and friends.  This one's for them!

EZ peasy, cut & emboss all in one pass, pop up on card base, stamp and yes, it's that easy!  Very pretty, but quite easy.  I love the depth of the embossing on this folder, and also that it can be used vertically or horizontally, and that it allows a flat area perfect for stamping.  And a close up...

While it isn't quite their Halfiversary, today we're celebrating my daughter's Birthday, their Anniversary, and son-in-law's Birthday combined all together with a family get together.  So off to prepping for me!

Supplies:
SB - EMboss & Cut Flower Gard
   SnS - Anniversary Innies

Thank you for your sweet words, and uplifting joy you all bring!

Hugs,
TK

Happy Anniversary "wreath"

A quick post to share a card wishing the Happiest Anniversary yet to our eldest daughter and son-in-law as they celebrate their 8th today!  I wanted a one-layer card, but ended up popping up the wreath and adding a sentiment strip, so I totally fell away from that "idea"!  Anywhooooo....

I used a few NBUS items, along with my new wreath builder template (thanks, Michele, for enabling).  This one was stamped, trying to mimic the colors of their wedding and hoping these look like gerbera daisies, but I'm close!  The focal was then popped up, the strip doubled and attached, and woila!  Wish I could say the whole thing went together as quickly as I can say it but alas, I don't have that knack.   Here's to the happy couple!!

Supplies -
   Casual Fri-Days:  Pretty Poses
   Sweet n Sassy:  Anniversary Innies
   MCS:  Banner die

Thanks again for the sweet visit, next time call ahead and I'll have the coffee on  :o)

Hugs,
TK

Time Out #140 - Love to My Life

Shhh.. be very, very quiet!  I'm posting this in the greatest of hopes that Hubbs doesn't see it!  It's an Anniversary card that isn't ready to be given yet, but I wanted to post due to the fact that Time Out totally inspired it!  Unfortunately I don't have any of the sponsor's stamps, so I had a go at what I do...
Although I LOVE the nautical theme, I just didn't have the right stuff, but I was inspired by the wood grain, distressing and scrolled edges of the table, and the gray and blue candle.  So here's my take on the challenge -

Do you see it?  I hope so because I sure enjoyed trying my hand at the challenge!  Thanks for popping in and.... while I haven't been around much (a lot going on), I've been missing everyone and hope to get around soon!

Supplies -
CB Distressed Stripes EF, inked up and pressed onto my paper
   Lil nkers Stitched Rectangle die
PB Smitten for the front sentiment
Sizzix Labels 18 for the double matting
SSS Roses for You for the inside sentiment and image

God bless and Hugs,
TK

Happy Anniversary To You!

A quick post, as I need to head to bed, trying to recover from I believe the WORST cold I've ever had!  I put this together tonight for Dtr #3 and SIL's Anniversary tomorrow, and I wanted to get it posted as well before I run out of energy...  So here 'tis!

And a close-up of the sparkly sprinkles...

An Agapanthus stamp (I believe it's NBUS so yay for me!), a little colored/swirled vellum that came in a pack from Walmart, a strip of blue and some "sprinkles" from sweet Michele (thanks again)!  This came together pretty well and I was even able to decorate the inside and the envelope to match!

All the best to for years to come!

Thanks for popping in and hugs to everyone who did!

Happy Anniversary - TO #126

Time Out has a new challenge "Loving" -- and what's more "loving" than an Anniversary card?  Well maybe quite a bit but the card is what I have and can enter!  So here's my card, enjoy!

I used a sweet die from Concord & 9th "Layers of Love", which also complements the challenge, does it not?!  I love this die!!!  And a close-up...

I ink blended, then die cut the top panel and popped it up, to showcase all those glorious leaf details.  I also added one miniature little pearl on some of the dot groups (does that make sense?).  I know you can barely see them, but they actually look whiter than the negatives, but really show IRL.

Really hoping to spend more time this weekend just relaxing in my "mom cave" and making a few cards and also pop in to visit others as well.  Thanks for stopping by, and have a GREAT weekend!

Hugs,
TK

Case This Sketch #298

Howdy, howdy!  I've been quite absent this year, largely due to multiple reasons, but I am trying to rectify that today!  I've made a few cards, and since this one fits along with the sketch, I'll send this one to play along...

This is in the hands of the "anniversarites", so need to worry here...  As you can I used a little interpretation, main with flipping the sketch from right to left.  This card has some shimmery metallic ribbon and embossing powder, I really like how it turned out.

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving, and I really hope to see more of your cards!  Thanks for stopping by...

Hugs,
TK

FMS #248 - Happy 29th Anniversary, Hubbs!

This one's a bit self-explanatory just by the title, isn't it?!  I started making this about a week ago, finally finished it Monday (well last Monday), pictures taken last night, then low and behold here comes a challenge that I think this fits in quite nicely...  Here's my card -

I stamped the background, popped it up on foam, attached it offset on lower right corner, handmade the sentiment strip with sentiment embossed, then two feathers stamped and hand cut, then stuffed underneath the sentiment.

I was a little amazed when I later saw the challenge!  Fitting, don't you think?  So I'm entering this into the Freshly Made Sketches #248 challenge, show below -
Supplies:
Paper - PTI Soft Stone, Neenah
   Ink - HA Soft Granite
Stamps - Clear & Simple Birch Trees, HA Everday Sayings, Janes Doodles Wise Owl, PTI Love &     Marriage (inside sentiment)

Well, that's it for today!  Hope you are having a wonderful week, I know mine will be!
