Familial Group #3

Welcome!

I'm back again today with another group of cards.  This group was all made the same, as I liked the design.  It also uses an new-to-me stamp and die set.

The sentiment is full-sized, with a matching die that is quite unique.  While the die portrays a cross, it is only the ends of each point that cuts and flares.  I used a piece of matte gold paper, the same as the frame, to back the cross points.  I should've grabbed a photo of the underlying gold, but I forgot - sorry!  The edges were lightly ink blended with a deep purple, and the inside sentiment stamped with the same ink.  I used a small strip of double-sided tape, rolled it into a small tube and placed it behind the "flap" to ensure lift, even after the mail.  Yep, these have been mailed as well.

Since these are in their first outing, the card will go to NBUS #85.

If I'd have thought sooner (doh!), I could've used marigold and entered it into Marcia's purple and marigold Color Hues challenge!

Supplies:
PTI - Reflections:  John 3 stamp & die (NBUS)
   PB - Classic Frames

Again, thank you for the visit and I hope all of you are looking forward to Easter!

Hugs,
TK

Easter Joy - Group #2

 Hello again!
Another short post to get caught up, at least for a few minutes..

Another group of family cards for Easter, again near duplicates of each, these will be handed out (hopefully, if everyone is well).  One of these will go to Just Us Girls #816 - Stencil week!

The background was stenciled with a new SSS set, which comes with stamp/stencils/dies.  The panel was cut down with a new die, sentiment stamped with a new set and it also was cut down with a new die.  I guess that means that one of these will also be going to NBUS #85

And the grouping...

Supplies:
   SSS - Artsy Butterflies suite
   SU - Textures Notes dies
PTI - Reflections - Romans die; Just Sentiments - Easter stamps

That's it for this post!  I better get one of these off to JUGs before it closes!

Hugs,
TK

The Cross - Alleluia!

Hello!
I've been pretty absent, it seems I'm not as fast as I once was... at anything!

I have a few cards to show, yet one really.  You see, pressed for time, I made familial "groups", which I understand and usually only do for Thanksgiving.  However, I made an exception and this is the first batch I made ~

I actually was CASEing my card after Bonnie's card here; an amazing card imho.  I recently bought this stamp set, so wanted to to put it to use soon.  The stamps were colored with Copics, cut with the die then placed flat on the embossed background, also new.

A better look at the texture.
These have been mailed, and now will make it to distant relatives in time.

Supplies:
   Unity - Allelulia (NBUS)
   Alt:  Nesting Slim dies
SSS - Blossom Field e/f (NBUS)

This will go to Triple B challenge (no predominant green, just blossoms) and NBUS #84.

Thank you for the visit, and I hope all of you are anticipating Spring.

Hugs,
TK

Using My Snippets

Hello, Friends!
I know it's been awhile, actually I haven't been very present this year -- hopefully soon!

Update... my retirement got put on hold!  Yep, a big division happened at work and a lot is happening, and I was asked to stay.  I'm sure missing my resignation already!  It has got to be one of the shortest retirements EVER since I didn't even get a day - lol.  Have no fear though, it is somewhat temporary, I believe.  Anywho,...

Meanwhile, I've been under the weather for a few days but managed to stay upright long enough for a couple cards.  This one was made with a few leftovers I had from my Easter cards, so it'll be an addition to the stash for next year ~

I believe it was sweet Loll who shared her love of pink and orange -- I TOTALLY agree!  And while I don't actually know what kind of flower this is... I'll be sending this to Double D - Springtime Flowers.

Supplies:
PB - Noted e/f, Curvature die, Ripple die, Garden Trio stamp/die
   SSS - Alleluia die

That's it for me!  Have a great day -- may your weather be sunny and bright, but not too hot!

Hugs,
TK

Alleluia!

Happy Easter, Everyone!

I will leave you with two final Easter cards this year.  These will be hand-delivered today, so I think we're in the clear!

The first is in corals and a sagey green, using NBUS products and flowers, so I guess the first will be heading to NBUS #73, Penny Black Saturday - Easter.  Dry embossing, die cutting, copic coloring -- this one checks off all my boxes, and oh that coral color!

My second card is similar, only changing up the colors, so this one will head to The Flower Challenge #101 - Spring colors.

Supplies:
   Alt. - Organic Linen e/f
PB - Curvature frame (NBUS), Garden Trio stamp/die (NBUS)
   SSS - Alleluia die

With that, I leave you my greatest wishes that everyone would have a very Happy and Blessed Easter!
He is Risen!

Hugs,
TK

Joyous Easter

 Hello and Good Day!

So I'm WAY behind on my Easter cards but I had a bit of time today, so Color Hues #107 - Teal and Orange came to the rescue!  One of these will also go to NBUS #73, due to a new stamp and frame die.

 Here are my cards ~

My first card is a bit more feminine.
A new PB Blooms colored with Copics and die cut, perched on a new PB Ripple die cut frame, layered over the PB Noted e/f.  My sentiment?  Well shame on me but I don't have a single PB Easter sentiment - oy!  This sentiment comes from an antique Paper Smooches Easter Blessings set, heat embossed in white and cut down so I didn't cover up too much frame or background.

This card is my masculine version.  I used the same products, colored the bloom the same; however, I used the largest frame in a matching color and stacked up a couple layers of the white center.

I mail only a few cards, so I lucked out on that as most are hand delivered, but these will be in the mail shortly.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great week!  Me?  Mine is stacked with events (in addition to work), but I'm hoping to get a few more cards done.

Hugs,
TK

Cards with Ida

Hello!

Today's card is another challenge with Ida, this time from a photo that I chose.  Well actually, she found the photo and I was immediately drawn in and claimed it!
Here's the inspiration ~

Any guesses which way I went?  Jungle?  Cake?  Florals?
Here's my card ~

Colors!  The colors in that first cake won my heart!  I actually wasn't planning on an Easter card, but while going through some dies, I found this one and knew it would rock that glorious sunrise!
P.S.  If you're OCD and stuck on looking at that "thing" to the left of the Bible, just below the napkin, it's a FIBER not one of my grays - lol!  Go ahead -- zoom in, I promise!  Lol

I actually made two versions of this card, but I'm not sure it works.  Does the sentiment strung across the horizontal beam work?  I felt that it was symbolic, does the cross blended in too much?

Anyway, I hope all of you have a great weekend!  If you celebrate Easter, be blessed and enjoy!
Do stop by and see Ida's creation!  She'll love your visit too.

Supplies:
PFS - leftover panel from Notched Corner die
   SSS - Outline Floral Cross
   CCC - We Are Healed

Hugs,
TK

Easter Cards 2.0

Hello, Hello!

I'm back again with another couple of Easter cards for you.  Well, not actually for you but hopefully you know what I mean!  These were all made from the same sitting as before, just another post so I don't wear you out too badly.  By the way, these two cards are described by Hubbs as "the prettiest cards"!

Card #3 ~

Another leftover cover plate, a couple of foiled hexagons from an NBUS set of hexes, and the flutterbyes again.  I'm really into these things, I hope you're not getting bored!  Oh!  I must mention that while Hubbs wanted me to create all Easter cards alike due to my late-ness, I challenged myself to use the same basic pieces and change each card up a bit.  I hope I've succeeded!

Card #4 ~

A foiled plate (both outer layer and inner), some more beautiful washi butterflies, all layered together with my Easter sentiment.  I'm pretty sure you can spy some of that foil shine!  This foil plate was a recent freebie, and I wasn't really too sure about it UNTIL I foiled it!  Wow, don't judge a book by anything other than the whole book - lol.  Now?  Not only do I believe it's beautiful, but it also makes for a great masculine card, am I right?

One of these cards will be sent to NBUS #60 for using my NBUS hexes OR for the first outing with the Gatsby frame, which will it be?  And about those hexes, I was neglectful for not getting the dies but I found them on Amazon - bingo!

Supplies:
Card #3 - PFS Stitched Octagonal cover plate, Fluttering Butterflies washi; EH - Essential Octagons hfp (NBUS); CCC - We Are Healed
Card #4 - PFS Gatsby Frame hfp (NBUS freebie with order), Fluttering Butterflies washi; CCC - We Are Healed

In case someone's asking, because someone who was a "no reply blogger" asked, CCC stands for -- Colorado Craft Company!

If you celebrate Easter, may you find all the blessings of the day!

Hugs,
TK

Easter Cards 1.0

 Welcome!

Today I bring a couple of Easter cards -- they're in the mail and whisking across states to send Easter greetings to loves ones.

Card #1 ~

A quick card made literally from "leftovers" from the recent PFS Create & Connect.  The only thing I did was die cut more butterflies from the washi, glue all the layers together, stamp the new-to-me sentiment onto the smallest rectangle after inking most of the panel.  The butterflies were glued down in the centers and, presto, this card was done.  I will say that we had one overcast day and that, of course, was the day I was photographing!  So my base cardstock is actually a very light teal/blue and the inner panel was inked with a very light green, both of which match the butterflies MUCH better than it appears in my photo -- oy!

Card #2 ~

Made with a new-to-me background coverplate, an inked arched panel, and then a few more of the branches and butterflies from the same washi die cuts.  This sentiment is also new-to-me, from the same set as above.  Again, a bad day for photographing, so of course you can't see the gold in the washi!

With all these new products, one of the card will be entered into NBUS #60.

Supplies:
Card #1 - PFS Notched Corner die, Fluttering butterflies; CCC - We Are Healed (NBUS)
Card #2 - PFS - Stained Glass die (NBUS), Nested Arches die, Fluttering Butterflies; CCC - We Are Healed (NBUS)

Thank you for the visit -- you're awesome, and I hope your day is too!

Hugs,
TK

A Bee & A Viking - in Turquoise!

 Good morning, Friends!
Today I have a couple of cards, and it wasn't until I was doing the photo editing that both were in turquoises tones!  Must be the color on my brain lately.  Both cards went to my grandson, the first for Easter and the second for his Birthday.

Mr Bee was stamped, colored and fussy-cut, then placed on a piece of dp.  I drew the buzzing line and added the small sentiment banner.  Sorry so late with an Easter card, but I literally forgot to post it.  So since it's my grandson's Birthday and another card was made, I decided to post them together.

Yes, Mr Viking has returned!  I really bought this stamp with my grandson in mind, so I knew I had to make another card with it.  Ironically my son-in-law's Birthday is literally the day before my grandson's Birthday.  I went with fun colors for this Viking!

I used the sketch at FMS #582 ~

Supplies Card #1:
HB - Bee Cool, The Bees Knees pp
SSS - My Favorite Peeps (sentiment)

Supplies Card #2:
   MFT - Viking
HB - The Bees Knees pp

I hope you are having a crafty weekend, and that Spring is sprung in your part of the world!

Hugs,
TK

A Bushel of Easter Cards

 Happy Easter, Everyone!

I have a load of cards to share, finishing off my Easter cards.  While I used the same few supplies this year, I challenged myself to make things different, so I hope you enjoy ~

Card #1
Die cut out with an oval and a dark green card (even though you can't tell from the photo) placed below it, then popped up on an embossed front.  This sentiment is heat embossed.

Card #2
Stamped (masking all but 1 tulip), colored, die cut with an NBUS braided circle and placed over a red circle, a mini slimline rectangle of green cut, then the circle popped up on foam over the base and the sentiment stamped right on the panel.

Card #3
Image stamped off-set to the left of panel to allow for partial fussy-cutting and placed over an embossed panel.  A colored piece of cardstock to match holds the sentiment and popped up.

Card #4
Image stamped and colored, then cut with a new die and popped up over the embossed panel, using another new product.  The sentiment was stamped on a piece of cardstock, colored to coordinate and cut at an angle.  Does the embossing and angled tag make this one more masculine?  I'm hoping!

Since I have the most NBUS products in card #4, this one will be going over to NBUS #49.

Card #1
   RC - Easter Blessings
   SB - Hemstitch Oval
   Szx - Wooden e/f

Card #2
   PW - Tulip Trio
   RC - Easter Blessings
PF - Mini Slimline Essentials - Rectangle & Circle (NBUS)

Card #3
   Anita's - Lilies
   Szx - Wedding #2 e/f
   PS - Easter Blessings
   Alt. - Nesting Slim dies

Card #4
   PW - Tulip Trio
PF - Diagonal Stitched Plaid c/p (NBUS)
WF - A2 Nested Dome dies (NBUS)

Have an amazing, blessed day!
Hugs,
TK

Easter Tulips

 Hello again!

Today's card features another Easter card, using a few NBUS products - extremely old I'm sorry say!  When I first transitioned from scrapbooking to cardmaking, I snatched up all these items I "just knew" I was going to need.  Needless to say, I spent some time acquiring and not actually using because every time I saw something that amazed me, I HAD TO have it!  Well not much has changed - lol - except the fact that there's this certain challenge called NBUS, and now I'm determined to go back through supplies and actually use them.  Wish me well!
😊

Sorry for the late-in-the-day photo... Tulips stamped on watercolor paper, colored with Peerless watercolors, this is one of the first times that I've felt success with watercolors, yet not where I'd like to be.  Practice, practice, practice - right?!
My inspiration today ~

See those pink tulips?  I just stole the color from those sweet chicks!  This is also my first outing to The Four Seasons challenge - yay!

Supplies:
   Print Works:  Tulip Trio (NBUS)
SB - A2 Bracket Border dies (also NBUS)
PS - Easter Blessings  (Is it too much to say that I have 3 stamp sets, from different companies, that are all named Easter Blessings?)

Well that's it for me today, three more Easter cards to go and it's almost here!  Yikes!

Hugs,
TK

He Has Risen - Lilies

 Good day, Dear Friends!

Today's card will go to a couple challenges, and it's another CAS card.  I'm not sure what's up with these CAS cards lately, maybe I'm in a rut.  Maybe it's because I have a cold (and have had for a couple of weeks), and everything tastes "vanilla" and so my cards are too -- it's a theory, I guess LOL.

I started with the sketch over at FMS#579 and another REALLY OLD stamp.  I do believe I've used this one at least once - yay, Me!  I'm really happy using these stamps that have been neglected for SO long...

I stamped and colored the image, although it is much brighter IRL.  It was cut down and placed, along with the hot foiled sentiment.  I placed the sentiment on another oval of coordinating color, colored with Copics.

Hmmm you can't really tell the sentiment is foiled, but I think the sun was low enough that I just couldn't get a great photo.  This sentiment comes from an NBUS set, so I'll be sending this to NBUS #48.  I had foiled all the sentiments in the set but didn't end up using it, so it sat around until today!  I love that these small sentiments come with their own dies.

Supplies:
   Anita's - Lilies
SB - Hemstitched Oval, Faith Glimmer Sentiments

Again, that's all for today but I'm making progress on the next holiday breathing down my neck!  I'm actually looking forward to Easter and having family together again.  Celebrating the birth of Jesus is very special indeed!

Stay healthy or heal quickly!

Hugs,
TK

Alleluia - Spring

 Hello & welcome!

Today's post will be a quick one, I need to get this card off to IB#230 - Spring (I even used their sketch) while the chance is near.  I'll also be sending this over to NBUS #48 for my NBUS stamp too.  This stamp is REALLY old but never been used, so it has sat far too long!  It's a rubber stamp, and probably one of the very first stamps I ever purchased as I had not a clue what or where to start!  It has been detached from its wooden block though, for ease of storage.

CAS, right?!  A quick cut around the stamped/colored/boxed image and then glued to the panel.  I did a bit of ombre coloring on white c/s and then cut it using the alleluia die and its base layer out of vellum.  The sentiment was attached by rolling small strips of tape and placing them behind the solid letters so they could remain discreet.  This was pretty quick and easy too -- gotta love that!

 Supplies:
Great Impressions - Tulips & Butterflies
   SSS - Alleluia die

I hope all is well in your part of the world, and the weather is getting nicer.  Our days are slowly getting warmer, but we've also had a couple days of snow threats.  While I love all seasons, even winter, I'm ready to be heading into warmer weather.

Take care and thank you for the visit,
TK
