Happy Birthday, Beautiful Friend

Another post!  Hello, Friends, so glad you could stop by and visit.

My goal this weekend was to get A LOT of craft time in, but alas life happened again!  I was able to make a couple of cards though, so wanted to share one that will go to MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge #543.

I have used this set stamp set before, but not this image as I was quite apprehensive about coloring it.  So I did what one does.... googled an image!  I stamped the image in memento black and colored with Copics, then used a white gel pen topped with Sakura clear sparkle pen on the stamens.  I also added some Sakura sparkle to the leaves and blossoms, though it doesn't show in these photos.  And for the inside?  Look really close, ok?

I used light fog ink and "watermarked" the same image inside, with the sentiment boldly stamped on top.  Hope you like it!

Well that's all for me, Folks!  I'll get this posted and then off to visit you! See you soon...

Get Well Soon

Hello!  A quick post so I can send a card to a couple of challenges.  I will be sending this to Color Hues #18 - Purple and Teal and Pixie's Snippets #403.  Here's my entry ~

Sorry for the poor lighting, but since it's so late...  only indoor lighting here.

The colors are obvious, but the snippets?   Well a small piece of vellum and an even smaller piece of card stock that was able to cut into a label, waiting for use.  The ink used on the sentiment is actually teal too, hmmm not sure why it looks blue here but it's probably lighting.

Supplies:
Magenta - Lg Floral BG (a win from Loll's Blogiversary, and an NBUS until now!)
SB - Labels 18 die (vellum and sentiment shape)
PF - Diagonal Stitched Rectangle die (frame)
   PTI - Healing Sentiments

Thank you for popping in, and may each of you have a blessed weekend.  I intend to use every moment I can this weekend for card making, and I hope that your plans are the same.    And THANK YOU to all who have served, a true blessing and one for which I'm very thankful!

Hugs,
TK

Merry Christmas - Foliage & Berries and a Sketch too!

Hello!  A quick post from a card I literally squished into my weekend!

I wasn't in desperate need of any particular cards EXCEPT that I've been terribly lacking when it comes to making my Christmas cards.  So I set about to make a card, and found a couple challenges that would work well together.  Here is my make ~

What?!  Why did I cut it?  Well it fit a challenge that way, plus it gave me a perfect spot to perch my die cut bow (an NBUS set)!  In this first photo, you'll see the sketch shown below, and the topic of foliage of berries.  However when I was taking the photo, it dawned on me that those berries would be really pretty all glossied up, so I did after taking the first photo, and here's the close up ~

Wait, what?!?!  Who stole my red berries?  While I was coloring this I used my Zigs and laid down several layers of color to get a good red; but then my glossy accents took it away!  So while it added dimension and shine, I lost my depth...    This will be a lesson learned that I hope remains in my "thought bank" - lol.  As you can see from this last angle, the berries don't match the bow very well.  Either way, this will be added to the stash and sent to  CAS Christmas May 2021:  Foliage and Berries, MFTWednesday Sketch #541, and NBUS #26 ~

Supplies:
  MFT -  Blueprint 27
MB - Mistletoe Bundle (NBUS, the bow die used here)
   SB - Hemstitch Squares
   AE - Festive Wreath

Well that's all for me, Friends!  I'll be away for a few days with Hubbs, so don't think me rude if I don't visit, but I guarantee I'll be right back as soon as possible.

Hugs,
TK

Mom

 Hello, Friends!

Today I present a second card made with a die that was still lying on my table.  I had wanted to make a second Mother's Day card, but that came and went so I've settled for a card for my mom's upcoming Birthday.

A double cut on this one, I left some of the pieces inlaid and removed others to give a bit of interest, yet opposite sides - opposite indeed!  I also used an alphabet die set to cut the word out.  In the "berries" I added glossy accents.  The panel was then popped up over an ink blended panel.  A close-up to help focus on those little bits...

This will go to mom at the end of the month, and I'm happy to have it done ahead of time -- a bit of a miracle these days.  Hope you're looking forward to a wonderful weekend!

Supplies:
   SSS - Floral Swag die
PTI - Smooth Alpha dies, Birthday Stylish Sentiments

Thank you so much for the visit!

Celebrate Mom

Hello, Friends!  Sorry I haven't had much time lately, I do hope you'll forgive me.  I've been extra busy at work and mentally taxed when I get home, so not a lot of card making going on.  I did slip away for a bit and made one card, another to come soon hopefully since I don't have to mail it!

Here's my card for today ~

I used an NBUS die and did a bit of in-laying of the itty bitty pieces.  To make this die work since I wanted it to angle, I actually hooked the outer edges underneath the paper, and the rest of the die overtop, then adjusted the angle until I got it where I wanted it.  Afterward, I used the other part of the die and cut the "swag" in white and layered it 3 times.  I then set about cutting the dark green leaves,  lavender flowers and deep plum centers, and placed them all back into the outline, adhering everything to the base.  Then I added an inner panel of deep plum to make the front whole again.  And a close-up ~

I thought about adding some glossy accents to the "berries" and centers, but Hubbs liked it the way it was and since it was mailed to his Mom, he got to choose to leave it as is.  I also cut the letters with the same lavender, layering it twice, then adhering.  I'll send this over to NBUS #26 and Pixie's Snippets #402, since I used snippets on the white outline, all the lavendar and dark green pieces and small plum dots and centers.

Supplies:
SSS - Floral Swag die (NBUS)
SB - a really old alphabet set

Thank you for stopping by, spending some time, and leaving such sweet comments!  I will do the same soon  :o)

Hugs,
TK
