Amazing

Hello!
I'm so glad you stopped by for a visit, and hopefully I'll get around soon.  It's pre-scheduled to be a busy week, likely long hours at work plus travel across the state and back for events, but I'll return as soon as I can!

My card today is for my dad, just a little note to say how much he means to me ~

I used the colors at The Color Hues challenge #58 - Lime Green & Cyan.  I knew this would make a great masculine card, now the design...  I took a cue from FMS, even though I couldn't make their challenge since it took me so long to create it!

The stamp is a very old one from Jane's Doodles, but I've actually never used just the feather!  Why???  After stamping and matting, I added the die cut made from 4 layers - I attempted only 3 but after the 3rd not looking like the correct color, what're you gonna do but add another layer!  I also added a matching Cyan strip inside and stamped the sentiment in Lime.

Supplies:
   JD - Wise Owl
   MFT - Doubly Amazing stamp/die

   Thanks again!

Hugs,
TK

Have a Cool (Birth)Day

Hello, we meet again!  So glad you stopped by.
Today's card is a fun card for my dad, and not the "usual" for him if I say so myself.

This card was inspired by MFT Slimline Challenge - Beachy, as you might've guessed.  I was opting for the card posted a couple of days ago, then I made this one and then Hubbs changed my mind!

The ink was blended for the sky and sun (tricky not touching and getting green, since I wanted the sun "organic"), then the beach cut with a die, the elements stamped, fussy-cut and Copic colored, then everything placed.  I know this particular stamp set will be well-used for this challenge, but it is what I had!

Hope all is going well for everyone, stay safe and COOL!

Supplies:
MFT - Penguins In Paradise, Cool Day (sentiment)
   AE - Dotted Border die

Have a wonderful day, and see you soon!
Hugs,
TK

Strike Up the Band & Celebrate!

A quick post, although I'm too late for the challenge (MFT Wednesday Sketch) I made it for...  This will be going to my dad for his upcoming Birthday, to celebrate 82 glorious years!  As some of you may remember, he recently had surgery and is still recovering from that, but his spirits are high and I wanted to give him something fun.  So here's his card..

My youngest daughter was a drummer in the drumline
of the local Marching Band, so I think he'll get a kick out of this!
I just knew I "had to have" this stamp when I saw it come out   :o)

Supplies -
   MFT Strike UP The Band
MFT Blueprints 27 (for the banner flag)
   Copics
   misc. Washi

Well I'm off for a few days with Hubbs, actually going to the NHRA Nationals in Kent this weekend, an early event for our Anniversary, marking 32 years!  I'll see you all soon!

Hugs,
TK

Happy 80th Birthday, Dad!

My dad turned 80 in August and we had a fabulous get together, and celebrated a grand achievement!  I know we're living longer as a society, but it's still a great thing to say that someone turned 80 and they're enjoying, loving life!  It was a morning strategically orchestrated, and attended by quite a few people, just enjoying the company of each other and celebrating a perfect day.  This was my card... a masculine card, several dies used, and a great pack of manly pp (I lOvE the rich tones)!  Enjoy!

I added dimension to the HUGS since I didn't have to mail it, and a snippet of pp inside for a base below the sentiment.  This card kind of made itself except the placement of the sentiment stamp, which took me a bit.

Thanks for stopping by, I'm enjoying visiting a blogs as I continue to try to catch up on the last blur of 8 months!  See you around!

Hugs,
TK

Happy Birthday, Dad!

This card is made, now posted, but still not to the recipient!  Not totally my fault, nor anybody's really.... Dad went on a short vacation to the coast for his Birthday, then I'll be at camp, so I won't be able to give it to him until shortly after I get home -- big BBQ get-together.  So, everybody, shhhh don't tell him you saw this first!  He isn't aware of my blog yet, so I'm pretty positive he won't find this til later.  Onto the card...

I stamped this little diddy, die cut the centerpiece and stamped it, then popped it up on foam tape.  This was originally for a color challenge, and I really struggled getting the red to work the way I wanted, then when I was finally done the challenge was over.  That's okay though because I didn't get it posted until late too.  Here's a close-up -

Supplies:
Stamps - PTI Autumn Pieces, PTI Congrats stamp, Altenew Bday Greetings (inside), and PTI              Stylish Sentiments (inside)
   Die - PTI Congrats
Ink - PTI Enchanted Evening, Blueberry Sky, Spring Rain, Pure Poppy

Thanks for stopping by, I have a few more cards coming, hopefully you'll see them posting through the next week. Thanks to everybody for your kind support of my blog!
