Hello, Sweet Hummer!

Hello, and welcome to you too!
Today's card comes to you because of some sweet dies, enabled by Rosemary.  Her creations are always perfection, sweet and delicate and always invoke a smile when I see them.  I saw her use these dies and they quickly got marked on my "want list", partly due to my mom loving hummingbirds -- she's also quite the hummingbird whisperer too.

While all the details were die cut, the flowers were all ink blended (even those tiny flower centers), and the stocks were done in an ombre fashion.  I used the sketch at MFT but missed the challenge, that's how the label base and sentiment base came into play.  For the hummer, I only ended up using 2 of the layers plus the base cut.

This card will go to Inspired by - Lemons (lemon yellow background and flower centers but chose not to use the sketch) and my last entry for this month's NBUS #47.

Well we had a surprise dusting of snow this morning, but no issues to report from it.  I do think the coast received some though.  Hope you are keeping warm and cozy!
Stay healthy.

Supplies:
   C&9th - Eclectic Garden dies
   Alt. - Nesting Slimline dies
sorry - forgot which set the sentiment came from...

Hugs,
TK

Let Your Hair Down

 Welcome!

It's been a sad and chaotic time, so I'm happy that I've been able to escape to my Craft Room!  For today's card, I have quite a few female Birthdays coming up so I'm busy at work making those.  Plus during my recent draw and subsequent shopping spree at MFT, I was able to purchase this little cutie and today's her day to shine!

It all started with the MFT Color Challenge 206  ~

I stamped and colored, then cut out the image to be popped up on the card, including those adorably plump little birds. Oh so I'll also send this to JUGS #668 - Coloring, too!

A close-up ~

She was popped up over the breezy cover plate, because you know she's not hangin' still from that branch!  She's having way too much fun for that.  The little birds were then attached with a bit thicker foam squares so they could be on the branch.

This card will also be entered at NBUS #47 for my use of the new stamp.

Supplies:
MFT - Let Your Hair Down (NBUS), Blueprints 27 dies
LF - Stitched Windy background die

Speaking of wind, it's blowing pretty good right now outside!  Think I'll go hide some more in the Craft Room!  Have a great day, and avoid any ugly weather that you might be having.

Hugs,
TK

A Cup of Warm & Cozy

 Hello and welcome!
Today I come with something different, I made a few simple tags for Christmas.  I was inspired by this collage, and I'll bet you can spot which photo ~

Yep, I focused immediately on the upper left!  In the cold winter days, I love to drink warm winter beverages.  I grew up with hot cocoa as my go-to, and only branched out into coffee, chai teas and a few others in my late 30's -- weird, huh?  You can't say I've ever said I'm normal...
Secondly, I had a NBUS stamp set that I needed to use and they're a perfect fit for tags so I proceeded to make a few tags ~

These will work great for the grandson or perhaps even stocking stuffers!  Ironically, after cutting the image portion of the tag and coloring, I found that I didn't have great cardstock to match for the accents, so I ended up using a lot of snippets of white cardstock and colored them with the same Copics.
These will be going to the following challenges ~

Based on the inspiration of a warm beverage

NBUS Stamp set

Snippets of paper for accents on Tag #2 and #3, and back portion for Tag #1

Supplies:
ME - Hot Cocoa stamp (NBUS)

   Tag #1 - MFT Fold-Up Tags
Tag #2 - RC Stitched Tag
Tag #3 - RC Topped Off Tag
Tag #4 - MFT Tag Builder Blueprints 2

Thank you for the visit, and may your day include a warm beverage of choice and lots of crafting, especially if you're experiencing the teen temps that we are!

Hugs,
TK

Amazing

Hello!
I'm so glad you stopped by for a visit, and hopefully I'll get around soon.  It's pre-scheduled to be a busy week, likely long hours at work plus travel across the state and back for events, but I'll return as soon as I can!

My card today is for my dad, just a little note to say how much he means to me ~

I used the colors at The Color Hues challenge #58 - Lime Green & Cyan.  I knew this would make a great masculine card, now the design...  I took a cue from FMS, even though I couldn't make their challenge since it took me so long to create it!

The stamp is a very old one from Jane's Doodles, but I've actually never used just the feather!  Why???  After stamping and matting, I added the die cut made from 4 layers - I attempted only 3 but after the 3rd not looking like the correct color, what're you gonna do but add another layer!  I also added a matching Cyan strip inside and stamped the sentiment in Lime.

Supplies:
   JD - Wise Owl
   MFT - Doubly Amazing stamp/die

   Thanks again!

Hugs,
TK

Thank you, Sweet Friend!

 Hello again!

A sweet friend recently gifted me a set from Gina K - I'll be honest, I don't have a lot of stamps from her and I'm not sure why.  Needless to say, this is the Thank You that I sent her in return ~

First, I must apologize for the poor photos!  We've had some sunny days, but also some dreary days and this was obviously one of them that even PS Elements couldn't fix!  I started with the stamped floral frame, and even stamped a few extras to tuck in behind the frame, some stamped, some embossed in satin gold.  The satin gold worked well with the satin gold strip behind the frame, so I figured a little more gold would work well.

I sure hope she has it by now!  I'll enter this as a second card to The Flower Challenge - Latest Stamps/Dies and NBUS #47.

Supplies:
   GK - Frame Flora
   PF - Sparkling Diamond cp

My week is likely to be very busy, but I do hope that all you have an AWESOME week!
Enjoy some crafty time for me!!

Hugs,
TK

Sincerest Sympathies

 Hello, Friends

A quick post today, with a few more cards -- another family loss, more bereavement.  I will be sending these cards, similar yet with subtle differences, over to MFT Sketch challenge #633 and Color Throwdown #730.

ETA:  Cream cardstock was used for the image notebook page, just in case it isn't obvious...

A close-up to show detail ~

And individually ~

Background embossed, image stamped onto panels cut with the notebook top and then colored with Copics.  Each panel attached at a different angle but still using the inspiration, especially the notebook edge at the top.

Supplies:
MFT - Notebook edge die, Deepest Sympathy sentiments
    Sizzix - Bricked embossing folder
    CB - Beautiful Friend

Thank you for visiting.

Hugs,
TK

Jolly Holly Owl

Welcome again!
Here today with another card, and I'm particularly thrilled with this one -- he's adorable!  Today's card allowed me to take inspiration from Lisa, and it worked adorably (in my humble opinion)!

I stamped and cut Mr Owl before Copic coloring him.  He was popped up over a polka dotted panel, with the heat embossed sentiment tucked behind him.  Here's a close-up to allow for bold adoration for all his handsome-ness -- lol.  Hindsight -- is this cutie named Jolly "Holly" and to be a female?  My bad, if it's true!  We've gone rogue!

I even took the design to the inside -- unfortunately my attempt at "watermarking" him on the inside faded overnight, so now I'll stamp another, fussy-cut him out and adhere him flat over the "attempt".  Love the dotty paper?  You can thank Lisa for that!!

This will be joining in the fun over at Peace On Earth #33 (red & cream/kraft colors) and MFT's new Christmas Challenge.  Personally, I loved their slimline challenge because it's the only one that I know of, and I LOVE the mini slims!  So in honor of that, I made this one a mini slim sized Christmas.

That's it for today!  Aren't you glad I can't make 12 cards in a weekend?  LOL

Supplies:
MFT - Warm & Feathered Hugs stamp, Winger Songbird (sentiment), Blueprints #27 die, Dots & Stripes - Neutral pp
PF - Slimline Rectangle & Circle dies

Hope you had an amazing Valentine's Day, and your week is getting better by the day!

Hugs,
TK

Celebrate - It's Your Day!

 Hello again!
I hope I'm not annoying you with my rapid-fire cards!  I usually don't participate in weekly challenges, just because I just don't have enough time to make them on a weekend and then get them posted before the challenge is done.  However, today I'm pushing the limits and stretching my abilities - haha!

For today's card, I used a cutie from MFT, a couple of NBUS products but decided to leave the sentiment off the front of the card!  I'm not sure why, but I just felt it had enough going on with the texture.  The inside sentiment reveals it's a Birthday card.

I dry embossed the card front using a new folder, cut a tag using a new die set and then cut it down again to use the layout inspiration.  The little girl was stamped, colored and placed onto a large accentuating circle.  I used the sketch at MFT Sketch #632 challenge, and Just Us Girls #666 - Sparkle.

So where's the sparkle, you ask?

I used a Gelly Roll to add a bit of sparkle to her swimsuit trim, her headband and the flower center.
My Copic colors ~

Supplies:
MFT - Sweet Celebrations pp, Drink Up the Sunshine stamp
Alt. - Organic Linen folder (NBUS), Nesting Slim dies (NBUS)

Thank you for the visit and your incredible kindness!  You guys keep me inspired, and push me to learn and grow.

Hugs,
TK

I Heart Poinsettias

Hello, Friends!  I hope this finds you all well and rested.

Although I had a ton of chores (plus Super Bowl) this weekend, I was able to steal away for bits of time and make a few cards.  This first one has amazingly NO stamping - die cutting, foiling and dry embossing were in order for this card.

I took inspiration from a couple of challenges, and hopefully pulled it off -- plus I got another Christmas card in the bin! Yay!  Smooshed inks, die cuts, a hot foiled sentiment and my embossed panel all came together to make my card.

I took my inspiration from Peace On Earth #33 challenge and Inspired by:  Hearts, but I also used an NBUS cover plate, so this'll go to all three challenges.

Supplies:
   PF - Sparkling Diamond (NBUS)
LF - Inside/Out Stitched Hearts die
   WF - Layered Poinsettia
SB - Holiday Florals (inside sentiment), Holiday Sentiments 2 (outside sentiment)

Off to get ready for another week!  Thank you for the visit, and I hope that your week is a wonderful one, full of love, laughter, family and friends.

Hugs,
TK
