Daisies for the Wishes

 Welcome, Friends!

Anybody out there scorching as much as me?  Ha!  A hundred degree temps and plenty of wildfire smoke throughout WA, OR and ID have us wishing for Fall!  I pray that anyone else in the same situation has air-conditioned comfort and breathing relief, along with safety soon.

One would think that today's card came together pretty quickly, but that isn't how my brain works!  Quite a few indecisions along the way make these take way longer than the ordinary person, but I just do what I'm told...

Stamped and colored with a light Copic gray for the center and depth on the "folds", plus Wink of Stella for shine, then masked so I could ink blend the rest of the panel.  It was then cut with an old large rotary cutter that came with an additional scoring wheel and a wavy wheel, which was used.  A secondary, complimentary panel was added and everything placed on a square 5.5" card.  Hindsight, I was given the thought that if I had made this 4.25" square I could mail it in a standard envelope - doh!  Lesson learned, but it is winging it's way to the Birthday girl now.

My close-up was supposed to show the glimmer in the center but it did not...  This is much prettier IRL.

An NBUS stamp (sorry, this had to stay hidden until after your early close), a sketch (sorry, another one missed) and so I came up with sending this to Darnell's IDEAs calendar for Anything Goes and Triple B for the patriotic colors and blooms.

Supplies:
UN - Daisy, Defined stamp (NBUS)
Thanks for the visit!  I hope your day is amazing.

Hugs,
TK

Celebrate You!

 Good day, Fine Feathered Friends!
OK, so you're not birds but I am glad you're here!

Today's card has been posted and hopefully received ~

I fell in love with the Color Hues challenge Cream & Gold, and couldn't let it go by without another card, even though I was too late to enter so this will be sent to Triple B - July.  It features an older rose bouquet, heat embossed in gold on alabaster cs.  I then used the stencils to use a light cream ink to blend all of it, making the buds a bit darker.  After inking, I quickly applied Gold Perfect Pearls to add color and shine to the buds.  It was added over/under/between a golden glitter frame, in varying heights using glue and foam tapes.

The sentiment was heat embossed as well and popped over the stems.  Another Birthday card wishing someone special a great day!

While using blooms, I obviously opted not for the patriotic content or look on this card.

Supplies:
PFS - Delicate Rosebuds suite, Fancy Rectangle Frame dies

Thanks for the visit, I'm so glad you stopped by!  Have a wonderful day.

Wish Big with Peonies

 Hello!

Today's card features a press/foil plate that I've had for quite some time, but it's coming out today to play.  I was gifted this by the illustrious Michele, and honestly, I'm not sure why I waited so long to use it...  I hot foiled it today, then used the stencils to ink blend in the colors.  Thanks, Michele!

After die-cutting the piece down, it was mounted flat, pre-foiled sentiment added, then a leftover butterfly placed.  I love the vellum butterfly and how she adds in beauty but doesn't detract from the colors.

Since this press plate and stencil suite has never been used, I'll enter this in the NBUS #87 and Trible B - June, obviously I didn't use the wonderful violet color as an option.
Oh!  And Happy Birthday, Verna!

Supplies:
PFS - Blooming Peonies pp/stencil (NBUS)
   SU - Textured Notes Frames

Thank you for the visit and have a great rest of your week.  May your temps not be in the near 100's like we're having!

Hugs,
TK

The Cross - Alleluia!

Hello!
I've been pretty absent, it seems I'm not as fast as I once was... at anything!

I have a few cards to show, yet one really.  You see, pressed for time, I made familial "groups", which I understand and usually only do for Thanksgiving.  However, I made an exception and this is the first batch I made ~

I actually was CASEing my card after Bonnie's card here; an amazing card imho.  I recently bought this stamp set, so wanted to to put it to use soon.  The stamps were colored with Copics, cut with the die then placed flat on the embossed background, also new.

A better look at the texture.
These have been mailed, and now will make it to distant relatives in time.

Supplies:
   Unity - Allelulia (NBUS)
   Alt:  Nesting Slim dies
SSS - Blossom Field e/f (NBUS)

This will go to Triple B challenge (no predominant green, just blossoms) and NBUS #84.

Thank you for the visit, and I hope all of you are anticipating Spring.

Hugs,
TK

Wonderful Friend

 Welcome!

The sun is shining, the crocus and bulbs are popping through the soil and I'm squinting - lol!  Boy, it's amazing what happens when the sun comes out.  We've had an extremely mild winter, with no snow and only some rain but I miss the snow!  Come on, can we have a bit of weather before the yardwork starts up again?  I know, I know, I should be thankful because there are plenty that got hammered this winter by cold and snow but I actually miss it.

On to the card, shall we?  Today's card was needed for a friend, a thank you of sorts, well kinda!  She'll get it...  It all started with Color Hues #126 challenge - Pink & Red, which was quickly emphasized by Triple B - January.  Okay, two in a row!  Who could I say no to those colors?!

Right!
Lots of red, pink and some white, plus don't forget about those "allowed" neutrals!

My press plate was foiled with Splb Prism foil, then I blended with a light shade of pink, a deep red and two lighter shades of gray.  The center was cut with the center die from the set and a pressed sentiment in medium gray was added over the opening.  While I started with a red pressed sentiment, it was quickly decided that the gray would be a much better color -- bingo!

Now, while this close-up appears to be a green-gray, it is indeed not!  I had to hunt around for the perfect grays to avoid that.  I like!  And it's off to the recipient and hopefully received.

Supplies:
   PFS - Splendid Florals pp/die/stencils
Splb - Yana's Special Sentiments gfp (yes, I pressed with a glimmer plate!)

I hope you've had a magnificent and short week, thus creating what feels like a lovely, long weekend!

Hugs,
TK

Three Challenges and a Bonus!

 Hello, my Friends!

Today I'm here so excited about this card.  It all started with a Double D - 10th year Birthday (Go Double D!!!), since I'm in need of Birthday cards.  Then I strolled over to Triple B - January to see their beautiful inspiration photo with gorgeous blues and whites.  As per usual, I took a stroll through my NBUS products and was able to come up with a press plate and die plus a hot foil frame, then got quickly to work.

Here's my card ~

Initially, I tried to foil on the blue cardstock (darker than it appears), but it did not work on the MFT card.  I didn't want to waste the beautiful blue cs, so I cut off the foiling to save the outside strips and inside rectangle for another day.  I used the "new-to-me" double rectangle frame and foiled in Aura on Hammermill, then foiled the "new-to-me" centerpiece floral too.  I colored it with Copics, then cut it using the die.  Once I had done this, I realized one strip of blue would be nice behind the floral piece, but lo and behold, if I used the floral die again, I could also fill in the inner circle with the remaining blue -- cool!  Sentiment  pressed, cut and mounted.

Now, the Bonus!  After photographing my card (trying out a new light, which is why I got so many other colors in the foiling), I read Marcia's latest post.  Ta Da -- bonus challenge with Color Hues #125 - Blue and White!  Yay!

ETA:  I was invited by Carol to join them over at Inspirational #359 - Shades of Blue

Supplies:
Splb - Essential Duo Lines hfp, New Beginnings Timeless Sentiments pp
PFS - Floral Round Frames pp/die
   Aura foil

Thanks for the visit, have a blessed day!

Hugs,
TK

OK - You Guessed It!

Hello!

About a week ago, I posted this card and quite a few of you included another possible sentiment for the card.  Well, you got it!

Yes, it comes with the sentiment all of you thought that my kitty might represent!  I could say something snarky about all the comments, but I resemble this sentiment all too well... I'll spare you the snark!  Now, since I'm trying really hard to make two cards with each set before stashing them away, I didn't have time on the previous posts, so here they are now.  On "Hot Flash Kitty", I pressed the fun plaid in an ink matching his eyes.  The kitty was colored with Copics (an orange tabby now) and fussy cut, then the sentiment added.

I used the same elements on this one as my first card, except the sweet sentiment press plate and a different frame die, just in a new orientation.  This time I colored the flowers with DI re-inkers.  While I'm not a great watercolorist, I am watching videos and hopefully learning.

Supplies:
Card #1 - Unity Fan Club Pissy Kitty; PFS Stippled Plaid pp; HB Truly Great Friends sentiment die
Card #2 - PB Dainty Daisies/dies; PB Plaited Frames; Splb You Are Everything pp (NBUS)

Edited to add to Triple B - October

Thank you for the visit and I hope to be back soon!

Flowers for the Day

Welcome!

Wednesday was my eldest daughter's Birthday, but since we're celebrating tonight, I made this card ~

A simple vase of flowers, a die cut frame, a stamped border and an embossed background.  While these aren't real flowers, the real bouquet was delivered to her on her actual Birthday.   Let's talk about those color choices -- Hubbs boxed and gift-wrapped a present with a dark teal wrap, and thus this bouquet was born!  What can't you see in this photo?

I wanted to add filler flowers without adding any more colors, so the leaves were "colored" with a silver gel pen, while the flowers were given the "crystal" treatment.
Oh, and Bellis?  The scientific name of the Daisy!

Since I have used almost all new products, except the frame, this will be going to NBUS #79, Penny Black October - Anything Goes, and Triple B - October (do you see coral?).

Supplies:
PB - Dainty Daisies/dies, Handpicked/dies, Dashed Design e/f (all NBUS) and Classy Frames

Gotta run -- lots to do before the celebration tonight!

Sending Hugs

Welcome, welcome!  I'm so glad you stopped by.

Today I have yet another stenciled card -- oy!  I told you I might be addicted!  It's a little unfortunate that I didn't get these in for Darnell's Stencil Week, but I'll try again.  Another occasion, another card, another day of fun!

I stamped and heat embossed the floral bouquet, then stenciled and die cut it out.  It was prepped for popping up, but then what to put it on?  Again, I shopped my NBUS stash and found a pretty little pierced cover plate that worked perfectly -- it just looks so dainty!  Again, a couple NBUS products, so this'll go to NBUS #76 and to Triple B:  July (blooms, of course)

Supplies:
PFS - Indigo Roses suite (NBUS)
Ps - Cortina Pinpoint piercing plate (NBUS)
   HB - Mini Messages stamps

The recipient has received this one, so I'm all clear to post!

Here's HUGS to you all!

Collage - Hugs & Wishes

 Hello!

Someone special is to be honored and cherished with this card (not that I don't consider every one of you special!).  The card's been received and so now I can post it, slightly after the Birthday.

Today's card ~

It all started with a "new to me" stencil, and I figured that it would make a beautiful card too!  I ink blended with the four colors, cut with the postage collage die and popped it up on thin foam.  The sentiment was stamped, cut and attached with another layer of thin foam.  Here's a closer look ~

Oh!  And a few pink vellum mini butterflies.  Since I have two NBUS products used, I'll be sending this to NBUS #76.

Also sending this to Triple B

Happy Birthday, Girl Friend!  Hope you had a spectacular Birthday!

Supplies:
WF - Postage Collage die, Spring Breeze stencil (NBUS)
Ps - Bunches o' Butterflies dies (NBUS)
   PTI - Stylish Sentiment:  Birthday

Hugs,
TK

Mom - Happiness Blooms

 Well, hello there, Friends!

Today I have a post that'll be visiting a few challenges and be handed to Mom this weekend!  It all started with Ida and I using the same products, ones that I had shared during our last visit.  Then of course, there was the PB Saturday Challenge and the PERFECT sketch at Freshly Made Sketches.  It must've been fate!  Here is the product (main image) that Ida chose to use today ~

I started by stamping the flowers in VersaFine Claire Morning Mist, Copic coloring, adding dots of white and sparkle pens, plus winking with stella on the flower centers.  The darker panel is actually a great compliment, but I decided to add stripes, and so foiled it with an opal foil, which is really pretty IRL, but of course hard to capture!  I then decided to add the small letter dies for M-O-M and popped up the sentiment.
Hubbs says this is his all-time favorite card of mine!  I do believe that the photo doesn't do it justice... but I think he's a bit prejudiced.

This will be entered at (drumroll please) ~

PBSC May- Anything Goes, FMS #685 by Linda (sketch), Triple B May (blooms & colors), and The Flower Challenge #102 - Stripes or Dots

Now, why not pop over to Ida's and see what beauty she's made today!

Supplies:
   PB - Blooms
CP - Scallops & Dots (frame dies)
   PFS - Diagonal Plaid pp
   PTI - Smooth Alpha

Thanks for the visit and have a GREAT day!

Hugs,
TK

Bird - Die - Birthday - NBUS

Hello, Fine Feathered Friends!
Ok, you're not actually the feathered friends, but friends still.

Today's card will be a quick post, as I need a CAS card for a masculine Birthday at work, and I was "elected" to make the card.  As soon as I walked into my craft room, I spied the awesome NBUS embossing folder and it became my jumping spot.  Next, I was hoping that I could find a small bird die to go along, and there it be, nothing simpler than that and a foiled sentiment to pull it all together.
Here's my card ~

My card will join the festivities at NBUS #72, Triple B:  March and finally JUGs #765 Die Week & Birthday -- how could I not?

 Shucks!  I missed it!

SSS - Forest Border (NBUS)
Ps - Whittle Birds (this could possibly be NBUS too)
Splb - More Sentiments glimmer

Thank you for the visit, and I hope you have a MARVELOUS week!

Hugs,
TK
