Another Year Worth the Ride!

A quick post today, I have a few chores to wrap up and then the day to spend with Hubbs for our Anniversary - 39th!

A new stamp, colored and cut down, a random strip of pp added underneath and sentiment added.

This'll go to Color Hues #138 - Navy & Teal (as my second card), NBUS #89 and IDEAs Calendar - Ink, for coloring, stamping.

Masculine For You

Welcome!

Today's post comes from the heart, as all our cards do, but without any challenges.  Well, at least I'm unaware of any due to this being written nearly 2 weeks prior to post!  If I find any when the time comes, I'll be sure to update it... well hopefully.

A card for my dad, turning 89 this year!

Strictly masculine, straight cuts with a bit of embossing and hot foiling.  Hindsight, I wish I would've left the top blue horizontal stripe plain and embossed the top diamond.  As it is, I did such a great job (haha!) of lining up the two layers, that it almost looks like one.  The colors -- kraft, darker blue than it appears, and a lucious flecked cream (from Jaydee, left over packaging that I absolutely could NOT waste).  Due to the muted but masculine color palette, I didn't want gold foiling to look yellow, so I opted to use a satin gold for the embossing.

Simple but effective, eh?

I found a similar card on Pinterest, but I could not track down the original, except that it's for sale on Etsy for nearly $8!  Unfortunately, no credit will be given.

Aging Is Weird!

Welcome!

Today I have a card for our friend/neighbor's Birthday!  It's one of those milestone Birthdays, yet they are weird, aren't they?  I mean, don't get me started but all the energy is diminished while all the chores have multiplied over the years.  Am I right?

While I took a design help from Gaylynn Martling, I CASEd it and made it my own -- I just thought she created a wonderful, masculine card.

I offset my bird panel and made banners of varying widths/lengths but left the image uncolored.  I can say that I don't believe I've ever left an image uncolored.  I do like letting the masculine papers do the talking.  And now as an after-thought, it might also be fun to do minimal coloring, just to give it depth, maybe I'll try that another day.

Fishing You a Happy Birthday

 Hello, hello!

Well, I love that title, I do wish I had a stamp to go along with it!  Maybe next time I'll think of it and print it to use...  Anywhoooo, a masculine Birthday card was needed, and since he's a fisherman, I figured this would work perfectly.  I used the sketch at FMS #742 but that one came and went before I could post the card.

This card is pretty simple, it only took me two tries - ha!  I cut a strip of brushed silver cs and embossed it before gluing it to the base to ground the rest of the card elements.  I also cut the hex frame, fishing lure and bobber, then assembled them.  I did a bit of blending to add some depth, then arranged everything to my liking.  This will go to my SIL this Friday.

I seem to be on a roll.  Some cards I had made but not posted, but a few got made during my chaos.  I'm glad to be finally getting everything posted but hope I can continue creating too!

Have a great Fourth of July but stay safe!  I know the fires have started here already, and we're aware of a HUGE fire on the UT/CO border, that is somewhat near and visible for family members' homes.  Our prayers are with everyone for safety!

Vintage Is In

 Howdy!

I hope no one takes that introduction as rude, but I guarantee Hubbs will get it!  Yep, this card is his Father's Day card -- albeit it only says that on the inside.  We're all about the vintage cards, antique furniture, etc.  Yes, we just bought a new Living Room set but we love our antique tables, benches, stands, etc.  So this card fits him well...

Popped up "new" die, colored just like his vintage GT500KR, cruising down the road of life with the sunset to the west.

To all the Fathers, all the fathers-to-be, and all those father figures, I hope you have a fantastic Father's Day!

Shenanigans for Valentine's

 Good Morning!

Today's post is for Hubbs, as you might have guessed!  A quick card I made, and a quick post to get it on the blog.  Then, we're off to a day of shenanigans!

Am I a romantic?  Maybe.  But is Hubbs?  Only slightly... He's more of "a laugh will get you where you wanna go" type of person.  I can't say it hasn't worked, after nearly 40 years!  

I wish I had used a little bit darker green for the stenciled oval, but I like this too, it just doesn't show up well -- even after over a dozen photos!  I recently found out that MFT was resurrecting their challenges, from the owner of MFT herself!  Well, the current challenge is color, using blue, turquoise, light green and light lavendar.  The website is www.cardchallenges.com but while I was on it yesterday, I cannot get on it today.  Maybe I'll link this up later, if I can get on.

Undeniably Classic

 Hey, Friends, welcome!

Are we ready for Christmas?  Ready or not, here it comes!  But that isn't the reason I'm here today.  Today, I have a masculine card that will be handed out today to celebrate Hubbs' Birthday.  And if you know anything about him (most of you do not), he's into classic cars but specifically Mustangs.  

Here's his card ~

Yes, we have a couple Mustangs, and yes, they're both red!

This was a QACAS card, just the stamp, simple coloring and silver highlights (I tried to follow the pieces of chrome that you could see.  I really wish I had taken a "before" the chrome photo, because that addition made all the difference!  I bought this stamp earlier in the year and did not get around to using it for Father's Day, but I think with that sentiment, it works WAY better for his Birthday!  Since the stamp is made to be off the edge, I added a light blue stripe on the left, then added a bit of gray washi.  I also did some very light ink-blending of blue around the rest of the card.

Since this is a previously unused stamp, I will be sending this to NBUS #81.

FAN-tastic!

Hello!

Today's card is masculine, or at least a good attempt - lol...  A Birthday card for today.

While I bought this image a while ago, I'm just getting to using it.  I'm really hoping the snarky attitude is appreciated, as sometimes it is, sometimes not so much!  The image was stamped, then ink blended using very small brushes.  While you can't see it in the photo, there is actually 3 colors of brown used, BUT the darker color on the face isn't visible in the photo.  I actually saw this coloring done on the Unity website and thought it was awesome.  After coloring, I used the dies to cut down the main image, plus using the outside frame from a larger die.

It Was Always You

 Hello and welcome!

Today's post will be a quick one, as I'm heading out the door shortly to celebrate our 38th Anniversay!

This card was made for.... well, you know who ~

Am I stuck on birds lately?  Well maybe, but that's only because I have several new packs in my mountain of products to be used!  I started with a new embossing folder, embossing the card front.  Then I foiled the new hex frame, with prismatic foil, onto some red cardstock and cut it down with my trimmer (I sure wish it had a die for all those wonderful angles!).  My new bird stamp was Copic colored, cut with its die, and popped up the card base.  I did contemplate a wobbler, but time was of the essence, plus I needed to stay somewhat serious, right?!  My new sentiment was "pressed" onto cotton card, and the "heart" added before attaching to the base.

What?  That heart looks a little wonky to you?  Well, think again, it's actually the worm die from the bird set!  haha - I thought it was quite appropriate.  I think Hubbs has warped my sense of humor, but then again it may have been wonky to begin with.

Still Younger

 Hello... and yes, I went there!

I know, you've seen this guy before but I'm having such fun and I knew a certain someone would really appreciate the humor.  So, this card went to my dad, who's 88 years young today!  Happy Birthday!

My whacky chicken is at it again for another Birthday!  This time I blended a rectangular background, stamped, colored in Copics and fussy-cut my image.  Then the flames, spots on his hat, balloon and the platter were all treated with WoS.  Can't see it?

Strut Your Stuff 2

Hello again!

As you can see, today's card features Mr Cluck Jr, the second image of the previous set, posted here.  He's another fine feathered friend, coaxing a friend to let loose on his Birthday!

Jr was colored with Copics, cut with a postage die, propped up on top of a woodgrain embossed panel, and adhered to the card with his favorite sentiment bannered below.  I fashioned this guy after Color Hues #113 - Red and White.  I hope I didn't ruin the fun by adding a bit of gray to his feathers but his initial cut layer definitely has white too.  After coloring him, I glossied the balloon to make it fun, as if this guy isn't fun enough.  And that orange?  That's just a blend of red, right?

Even though you can't see much of the embossing, it does add an extra something IRL.  And yes, Michele, I added another embossing panel upside down because I liked the texture better 😉

Today's post is all about a Birthday card.  Not quite a 4th of July Birthday, but close and any Birthday counts, right?!  I made a masculine card to post for today, using a brand-new product, so definitely NBUS.  This Birthday card has already been delivered ~

Mr Clucks was stamped, Copic colored and placed over a matching/fun piece of patterned paper.  Isn't that sentiment just fun?  The others in the set are equally fun too.

Hello, Fine Feathered Friends!

Ok, you're not actually the feathered friends, but friends still.

Today's card will be a quick post, as I need a CAS card for a masculine Birthday at work, and I was "elected" to make the card.  As soon as I walked into my craft room, I spied the awesome NBUS embossing folder and it became my jumping spot.  Next, I was hoping that I could find a small bird die to go along, and there it be, nothing simpler than that and a foiled sentiment to pull it all together.

And a close-up... if you look really close, tilt your head to and fro, crank your screen around, you may be able to tell that I "lightly" inked a sky background, masking off a drift.  The drift was then outlined with Wink of Stella... well, at least I tried to capture it, but it's pretty IRL!

ETA - there also a couple of trees that I didn't dare fussy-cut, so those were added inside, to frame the inside sentiment.

QACAS Birthday

 Hello, Friends!

Today's card comes as a CAS card done pretty quickly, well... as quickly as I can go!

It was given to a co-worker, so it's already given out.  Care to see?

Recently I purchased a whole stash of PB items, and here are just a few.  I started with the image, Copic-colored and fussy cut and attached to the die cut.  It was then popped up on the embossed background, and everything attached to the card base.  Oh yes, a sentiment was stamped (hmmmm not sure where this one came from), but it was hand-cut into a tag and added below the sweet image.

Well that's it for today but I have MANY more PB items to come!  First, back to my last meet-up with Ida, then onto Christmas -- oh BOY am I behind!

Seas the Day with FMS #647

Good Day, Friends!

 Today's card features the sketch at FMS #647, which I'm not sure I totally aced.  It was also combined with the kaleidoscope technique, which I'm seeing around blogland.  It's a masculine card, so the papers are appropriate but too dark?  I'm not sure -- maybe some help from the peanut gallery will help next time...

It's a Birthday card.  While it doesn't say that on the outside, I've learned from Michele that a card doesn't have to state the obvious on the outside.  So I went with this sentiment and stated the obvious on the inside.  Images were stamped, Copic colored, and papers pieced onto the base.  I do enjoy the cute images!

I better get this sent off before it closes!

White & Aqua - Oh My!

Hello!

It's been nearly 3 weeks since I've been able to make and post a card -- good grief!  I've made a few cards, mostly for the PFS Create & Connect Hot Foil/Press Plate event, which I will show soon!  I have a couple more cards to make (extras), and I'll get to them as soon as possible.  In the meantime, our friend has a Birthday today and I knew I just had to make him a card.  The challenge up at The Color Hues #90 is all about white and aqua, and boy was this one an easy one for me!

This design all came about by PB&J's Permission to Play videos, and this ones follows video #1, embossed background and image band ~

I dry embossed the background with a subtle waves folder, attached the stamped band and then colored my elements with Copics, matching the foiled sentiment.  I then added my elements with foam tape.  The sentiment was popped up as well.
