Prayers

Hello, Dear Friends!

Yes this is another card that we don't want to send but is a part of life.   This one goes to my cousin and family, who lives quite aways away.  I will not be able to offer a hug in person, but I hope this card brings some semblance of peace.

This was a bit fidgety for me, but only because I have stocky fingers instead of those preciously given to pianists.  I cut the white panel with a new die and cut the leaf sprigs from pink vellum.  The sprigs are held in place by the matte silver washi but the washi also provides a perch for the die cut sentiment.  This was the fidgety part because I attached a part of the stems under the tape but wanted the leaves to sit on top.  I admit, my first attempt had the tape wonky and the leaves hanging way out of place -- success on the second attempt.   The panel was then adhered to a navy c/s base.

I love the color combo here, and hopefully the silver washi counts as a neutral.  I layered the sentiment 3 times -- I contemplated using a glitter c/s for it but I just wanted it to be subtle yet noticeable.  The card will be entered into The Color Hues #35 - Navy and Pink and NBUS #35.

Supplies:
MFT - Prayers stamp, Sending Prayers die
PTI - Turning a New Leaf die
WF - Nesting Postage die (freebie) [NBUS]

Whew, well that's a load of challenges this week!  I've hit a couple of them multiple times, others that I hope to re-visit.  Thank you for your visit!

Hugs,
TK

Occasions

Hello, we meet again!

I've had this card made, it's been mailed "across the pond" and hopefully received so I can post it now.  I've included one of my successful tries with my new Glimmer hot foil machine as well.

I started with the Mondo Hydrangea stamped, Copic colored, and the rest is pretty self-explanatory except that I added an additional pop of color with a gold sparkle pen to the centers of each blossom.

My card will be entered at The Flower Challenge #65 - Occassions, and because this is my first post with  something made with my Glimmer, well I'll send it over to NBUS #35 too.

Supplies:
   EbyE - Monday Hydrangea
SB - Happy Birthday glimmer (came with machine, unknown name) [NBUS]
   Szx - Grand Large Labels

Thank you for dropping by and take some time to craft!  Go ahead, relax and enjoy!

Hugs,
TK

Happy Birthday - Occasion and Colors

 Good evening, Friends!

Today's card features an occasion, Daughter #3's Birthday tomorrow, and a color challenge -- I think they fit quite nicely...

Now, the flower portion is pretty obvious, but the colors?  Yes, I got as close as I could except I used this woodgrain c/s instead of dark brown -- I hope it works.  I will say sorry to MFT, because I was not able to get a single MFT product in here.  I heat embossed the flowers on watercolor paper, then colored them with Zigs, fussy cut them out, and placed them on a small square.  The words were simply cut and applied below.  I will say I went back and added pretty sparkle to the flowers with WoS.

My card will be entered into MFT CC #183 and The Flower Challenge #65 - Occasions, the second card this time!

Supplies:
   SB - Hemstitch Squares
   SSS - Happy Birthday dies
   Ws+9 - Doodle Buds & dies

Hope you have an awesome week.

Hugs,
TK

Masculine Get Well

Hello, Friends!  I hope you're having a wonderful, holiday weekend.

I come bearing a card today for my dad.  You see, he took a bit of a spill and got a tad boogered up, but I'm happy to say he's OK!  A concussion, broken nose and stitches on his nose and noggin' but his sense of humor is still intact.  The worse thing for him, I'm sure, is the fact that it cancelled his fishing trip...

Anyway, this'll be the card that I deliver, hopefully tomorrow.  A visit, a pass-off with the card and goodies, and he'll be happy as a clam!

Pretty straight forward, except that it follows the sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches #523 and the colors at Color Throwdown #680.  I really do love the dark brown, even if I changed it to kraft!  Oh yes, and my plaid e/f is NBUS, we'll go there too!

Supplies:
   SSS - Deco Diamonds b/g
   SB - Plaid e/f (NBUS)
   GKD - Scripty Sayings stamps
   W+9 l- Woodland Basics dies

Well, that's it for me today.  I've been enjoying the sunshine streaming through my front windows, but now it's time to tackle chores, squish on my grand-dog that's here to visit and maybe even get to another card!

Hugs,
TK

Peace & Comfort

Hello Again!

Sorry I haven't been around as much, a shift in my schedule, trying to re-adjust and just LIFE in general... But I'm here today to send for a card to a young co-worker.  She's sweet as can be, and I hope this brings some peace & comfort...

To step out of "the normal zone" colors for hearts, I googled sympathy colors and found that while soft pink and blue are used, soft greens and lilacs are accepted too -- so I went from there.  First I cut the frame, adjusting the center cutout for a different placement so I could position the branch, stamped it and colored with Copics, then popped up my frame over it.  Then a snippet of white perfect in size for my sentiment that also worked well over the frame.

My prayers are with her and her family as they heal.

Supplies:
   MFT - Deepest Sympathy
   PB - Hearty Note (NBUS)
CP - Scallops & Dots frame dies

This card will go to MFT Wednesday Sketch #580 and NBUS #35, for the old but newly used stamp.

Thank you for visiting and please take care and hug your Loves Ones!

Hugs
TK

On Valentine's Day

 Hello!

Yes, I know tomorrow is Valentine's Day, but short of getting up even EARLIER, I'm opting to post tonight, which means you won't get it until the tomorrow anyway!

I'm not totally sure I completed the challenge correctly but if not I still have a second card for Hubbs!  This one came about by a sketch challenge, a color challenge and a challenge to use die cuts as a stencil ~

Not a masculine card by any means, but he'll just have to put up with a little sweetness for Valentine's.  First I die cut the heart panel out of white and temporarily glued it down to my cs and ink-blended through it using a light pink, trying to keep it really light.  From there, I removed the stencil, blended candy apple red and applied glaze to make it a bit bolder.  The panel was then popped up over the stenciled pink and heat embossed the sentiment on black.
Here's a peek to see the stenciled blending ~

If you look really close, you'll see the white off to the right of each heart.

Not too mushy, right!  This will go to MFT  Sketch #580, Just Us Girls - Trend Week #619 and be a second entry to The Color Hues #34 - Red & Black.

Supplies:
SSS - Tic Tac Toe Hearts die
Fskrs - Holiday Hooplah (this is OLD)

I hope you have a beautiful Valentine's Day.  Remember, Love make the World go around!

Hugs,
TK

Love You

Hello, Friends!

I'd introduce my card, and let you know who it's for but I'm guessing you already know!  Yes, it's that time of year again and it (frankly) snuck on me this year.  Valentine's is just around the corner, and this will be one of the cards for Hubbs - yes, I usually make two...  This card comes compliments of two current challenges, Color Hues:  Red & Black, and Freshly Made Sketches #521

Pretty simple, using most snips of pp, a quick embossing folder and a couple dies all layered up.  Oh yes, let's not forget the glossy accents.  Since I had a bit of red polka dotted pp, I decided to use an e/f to make matching dots for the white pieces, then attached the letters, words and hearts.  Here's a close-up ~

I'm not sure why the glossied heart in love looks like it has bubbles, but I assure it doesn't.  Maybe since I only used a thin layer for that heart?  Not sure, anyway hopefully this card is not too foo-foo-ish.

And here's the inspiration ~

Well that's it for me today, I helped Hubbs go on a drive to pick up a large machine for his workshop, so less time for crafting after cooking and laundry.  I love helping him and spending time together so that's well worth it to me.

Supplies:
   CB - Swiss Dots
   E by E - You Rock die
   MFT - Stitched Alpha dies
SSS - Stacked Hearts and Tic Tac Toe Hearts dies

Days are getting longer here, but it drops below freezing at night and hits low 50's during the days, but I'm pretty sure we're still in winter in these parts.  Hope your weather is treating you nice and warm days will be soon.

Hugs,
TK
