You Tickle My Fancy

 Hello again, Friends!

I'm joining on the last CTS, to wish them goodbye and good luck in their future endeavors.  While I'm sure I slipped by most challenges, I enjoyed the ones I could participate it.  I know must take a great commitment to keep a challenge running, fresh and fun -- so Thank You, CTS!  Here's my entry for CTS #405 ~

Another Valentine's Day card, and I really enjoyed the challenge.  This particular one was not an easy one for me but I hope I've added a bit of fun.

I also used the colors from MFT CC #158, but unfortunately my dark pink looks rather red!  After I took the photo, I decided to put glossy accents on the heart and brush full of paint.  I'll enter this at ~

Hope you liked it, and it tickled your fancy!

Supplies:
   CCC - Wishing Happiness
   MCS (OoB) - Be Mine
LF - Inside Out Stitched Hearts
   MFT - Blueprints 27 (banners)

That's all for me, Folks!  Thanks for the visit.

Hugs,
TK

Happy Truckin' Birthday

 This one's for Hubbs!

Let me explain... the colors may look a bit unusual to you, but to Hubbs they'll look familiar.  You see, he has a big "Harley-edition truck, it's black with bronze accents and chrome.  While I would've preferred to make the truck black, I feared that it would detract from the card so I chose dark gray instead.  I must say, this truck is a bit older that ours but I'm sure he'll get the idea.  I used an NBUS die, I bounced off some layouts from a couple of challenges, and I used all snippets with the exception of the silver on the tailgate and the base cs!  From striped paper, I laid my tag die on the diagonal to get the diagonal stripes.  I didn't have any bronze paper so I colored a snippet of white and colored with a couple Copic markers, it's close...

Supplies:
SB - Truckin' Thru The Seasons
   Alt. - Birthday Greetings

Well I've managed to get past the Christmas cards for at least one card, who knows where I'll go from here.  Thanks for stopping by, I hope you have a great week and enjoy yourself!

TK

Mr. Gnome

Welcome, welcome!  I thought I'd better give everyone a break from my posts, I  usually don't get to make cards so frequently, and wanted to spare you from the barrage!   Alas, I've come back today with a cutie  😄   I was challenged by the sketch at CTS399, and wanted to play along.  Here's my entry ~

Sorry for the poor lighting, shadows etc... the weather has not cooperated for photography here!

Isn't he adorable?  Love that happy little face!  He was stamped, then colored with Copics, cut out with a die; then the other elements were cut and placed pretty literal to the challenge.  I'm okay with that!  Well I hope he has made you smile today, and that your day will be filled with many more smiles.

Supplies:
TCP - Gnome for the Holidays
LF - Ready, Set, Snow (sentiment)

Thanks for stopping by.
Hugs,
TK

Holiday Cheer

Before I get to the card, I want to thank ALL the people serving in the different armed forces, past or present that help retain our freedoms.   Thank you!

Today I was afforded time off and spent most of the day in my craft room, gleefully playing.  I hope your day was equally wonderful.  I made a Christmas card (a small token for my pathetic stash), which needs to get posted ASAP so I'll get with it.  I started with a sketch, then focused on an unused stamp and this is the result ~

This will be entering at ~

Supplies:
   AJVD - Slimline Essentials Backdrops
   W+9 - Holiday Cheer

Best wishes from my part of blogland to yours!

A Hustle for Hugs

Hello, Friends!  I'm hustling in to make a challenge so I'll move a bit quickly but please don't consider me rude.  I'll be sending this card over to CTS374 and Fusion - Beach.  For CTS, I moved the image to the opposite side, and for Fusion, I rolled it on the sketch on its side so I could use the larger die cut plus utilizing the photo as well.  And since I used a couple of snippets for the strips, I'll send this over to Snippets Playground #379 since Di popped in and gave me an invite (thanks!).

Take a look!

OK this is a really girly card but it says what I wanted to say... I wanted certain colors for the strips so I used the DOX for ink blending some snippets before die cutting strips and blended a bit around the heart.  The Hugs die is 4 layers deep, while the small heart is two but popped up on foam tape.  I'm not sure how I managed it but I'm determined to use up my "scraps", so everything here except the card base is scraps - yay!!!   Here's a close-up ~

Thank you so much for stopping by and saying hi!

Today Is...

...a GREAT day to send a card to a couple of challenges!  Hello, and welcome!.  We've all made it past the weirdest Memorial Day ever, and now back into our "new norm" -- woohoo, I guess!

This content cutie bear will head to CTS373 and TO #162 - "Free".

This was a recent purchase, and he's as cute as a bear can be.  Looking at it now, it appears that the leaves in his basket are uncolored but are in fact a medium green - weird!  I didn't notice that during the editing process, so hopefully they'll show once it's posted.  Here's a peak at the inside ~

This is a motto that we all need to keep, considering the current situation we're under.  Life is good, we just have to rejoice in the good parts and anticipate the future to come.  I do hope everyone is staying safe and out of harm's way.  Happy day to all of you!

Supplies:
WF - Happy Day (also NBUS, but it is new...)

Thank you for the sweet visit, and generous comments!
Hugs,

Modern Succulents

Hello again!  Hope everyone is having a splendid day, and remembering "this will end soon..."!   Maybe not soon enough, but we will be looking back at it one day.

Anyway, I've come with a couple of cards today to share, and send to a couple of different challenges.  The challenges were combined, but I will split them and send one in each direction.  Have I lost you yet?  Good!  Let's get onto the cards ~

This one will be shared at CTS #371, where they have a splendid sketch for us...

Pretty fun, huh?  I love this sketch, I can't exactly pinpoint it but it just warms my heart.  I've been wanting to play with this NBUS  stamp set, and so when I pulled it out, I knew it would work perfectly with this sketch even though the image is small.  And since this an NBUS set, I guess I'll be entering this over there too!

My second card uses the same sketch, the same color scheme and the same stamp set but everything is just changed up a bit, including the theme.  This card will go to The Flower Challenge - Monochrome ~

Thank you for dropping in, and have a fabulous day!

Thanks - for all your support!

Hello, I have another card but first...

I wanted to say that I've been having problems with blogger (again), with comments/replying.  While I believe I'm getting all the comments, I'm not getting the e-mails when they post, which means I can't respond!  Please don't think me rude, I've put in a "help ticket" and hopefully they'll get it fixed soon -- I like responding and having personal contact with each of you!

OK.  Onto the card!  I used a couple of challenges again, combining the sketch at CTS #369 and colors and patterns from TO #160 to come up with this Thank you card ~

First, I have to say that there's a friend who tends to like these colors so I KNEW I had to try!  While I couldn't get a good fluorish or brocade pattern to work well for the stripes, I think you'll still see the
inspiration easily enough.  I die cut and stacked the sentiment a few times, using a pp for the top layer, matching the base cs.  Here's a close-up (tho' I'd guess you've seen stacked die cuts before - lol) ~

Overall this was pretty QACAS in Darnell-ese!  I could even mass produce this in a few colors!  Hmmm...  Well I hope you like it and it brings a little sunshine to your day!  See you soon!

Supplies:
PTI - Sketched Shapes, Thanks in All Ways
PC - With Gratitude (one of the original dies that has the hard plate on one side and sponge protecting the outlines of the shapes, probably one of the first ones I bought eons ago - this one's almost antique, Ladies!)

Thanks, Well wishes, Good Health & Hugs,
TK

Easter Blessings

A quick post for a whole lotta Easter cards!  Howdy, glad you could stop by and I apologize for my rush but days aren't hashing out as I had hoped and time is slipping by.  SO!  I'm going to post several cards for you to peruse so I get them in the mail before it's too late.

The first two speak for themselves -- heat embossing, Zigg water coloring -- each matted a bit different ~

While similar, the matte layout for this one came from CTS #366, with a little artistic license to change it up just a tad by staggering the layers in a southeasterly direction ~

This next one also uses the same sketch.  I heat embossed the sentiment on vellum, then laid it over a heat embossed Easter lily blossom.  Hindsight (don't we all have it), I wish that I had put both on the vellum layer to show a bit more of the Brusho splatters but allow the lily to shine too ~

And speaking of those splatters, don't they remind you of the polka dots on the gnomes over at Fusion - Gnomes?  Gotta love the polka dots, but I love my Brusho splatters too  :o)

Last, but not least, here's a shimmery one ~

Usually our problem is that you can't capture the shimmer.  Here... well the shimmer almost reduces my sentiment and image which are in a stark perfect black.  IRL it doesn't not take away from the sentiment so much, but I do love that shimmer!

Supplies:
PPP, PS and RC - Easter Blessings (yes, all 3)!
   W+9 - He Is Risen

Thank you all SO MUCH for stopping by!  I hope to catch up soon and get a little rhythm back.

Hugs,
TK

A Friend - of Purple!

Did I make you look?  Are you wearing purple?  Well the inspiration for this card comes from a lot of different challenges and directions, but the true inspiration is my friend, Sandie!  If you scroll to the bottom of the post linked, you can read more of her story -- and her bravery!

So let's start with the card, shall we?

Obviously I took the purple to heart, and the twist of "friendship" for the challenge over at Time Out #158.  The flower is a cherry blossom, but I wanted it purple, I tell ya!  I also used a sponsor stamp for the background.  After doing that, I decided to do a bit of surgery on that background, so while you can't see it well through the vellum, I was able to use the sketch over at CTS #365.  By now I was getting pretty excited!  THEN I realized I chose the correct color for that background stamp, so now it's matchy-matchy with Inspired by - Yellow, and I got truly happy!  Wow!  What a feat (ok for me at least)!

Seriously, as I said before, what a blessing and inspiration Sandie is.  She's sweet with her comments, uplifting, and to put it bluntly -- she's amazing that she can not only join us in our craft, but lead challenges and inspire us on.  Thank you, Sandie, you're pretty amazing in my eyes!  Please stop in and read about Epilepsy awareness.

Supplies:
CAS-ual Fridays - Starlequin
E by E - Mondo Sakura (NBUS)
MFT - Anything but Basic Friendship

Thank you for stopping in.  I hope that everyone is doing well, staying protected and healthy.  Enjoy our new normal, it may be a pain in the patootie sometimes but it's keeping us healthy!  Enjoy some fresh air, soak up some sunshine and relax.

Hugs,
TK

A Sketch, Confetti and Leaves

Hello, Friends!  Posting here from my PC so praying all goes well.  I hope all has been great for you, sunny skies and wide smiles.

This post used a sketch, which has since passed, because I couldn't post for a bit.  You see, this one's for Daughter (Dtr) #2 who's Birthday is tomorrow!  We'll be celebrating and enjoying the company of my girls, son-in-laws and grandson.  But because I used the sketch over at CTS #359 Retro, I wanted to show you the sketch anyway.  I didn't participate in the original sketch either but had fun with it the second time around!

In addition to the sketch above, I used inspiration from TO #155 (I dialed in on "confetti") and TFC #41 (add leaves).  Here she is in all her colorful glory ~

Okay first a confession again!  While I love the card, my abilities with PS Elements (also a newer version) under the guidance of Windows 10 has suffered...  this again, is not a square card, nor did it look square while I was editing it!  It has to be a change somehow, maybe in the ratio?, and I haven't gotten focused in on what I'm doing YET.  All that aside, I think you can see the sketch, the confetti and my leaves -- success in my book!  See my white eraser, Michele?  I have successfully learned the easiest way to get my stamps ready for ink - yay - and thank you.

My card will be posted at:

Supplies:
   C&9th - Bitty Burst Turnabout/template
   MFT - Fold Up Tag
CB - Mini Floral Collage (NBUS)
AE - Loads of Wishes (NBUS)
PTI - Turning a New Leaf die

That's it for me, Folks, but my wish is that everyone has a fantastic weekend
with tons of restoration and relaxation!

Hugs,
TK

Beautiful Butterfly

This card was made for a challenge over at CTS #357 and I think it fits the bill, I hope it isn't so subtle that it doesn't work.  I'm happy that I put this on SSS Fog cs or else the texture would've been even harder to see.  However, I'm okay if it doesn't, they're the judges, and I trust the process.
Here's their sketch ~

For the stripes, I decided to use texture instead to change it up a bit...

For the "stripes", I used embossing paste through a stencil, first translucent on the top, white in the middle, and pearl .  I first masked off the center and used paste for the upper and lower sections, and lastly through the middle.  Just underneath the lower portions of the wings, you'll notice a couple dots that actually have two pastes within them.  I also masked off the lower and upper edges like the sketch, leaving room for a sentiment later.   The butterfly was colored with Copics and fussy-cut.  Last but not least, I used a border edge to define the edge a little more.

I'm so glad I could make the challenge, even if deemed that it doesn't fit, it stretches me and I enjoy the process and comraderie.  Thank you for the opportunity to grow.

Supplies:
   SSS - Circle Dots stencil
   E by E - Be The Change

Hugs and Sunny Day Wishes to all,
TK

Happy 90th Birthday!

You don't see a Birthday of this magnitude often, so it must be celebrated!  My aunt turned 90 and we had a pretty good "family reunion" to celebrate her.  Family is spread far but everyone somewhat close, and able to, came to see her.  This card is in her honor ~

I used two current challenges, CTD #574 - brown, red and white and CTS #353.  While the brown doesn't show well, I promise it is brown under the white flag holding the sentiment.  I used my beloved newer stamp (thanks, Rosemary, again!).  Here's a close-up ~

Supplies:
   Altenew - Rennie Rose
   SB Hemstitch Oval
   random sentiments inside and out

Thanks everyone for your time, visit and sweet messages -- you're awesome & mean so much to me!

Hugs,
TK
