Sending You Sunshine

 Hello!

While I have a few card inspos swirling about in my brain, we are also hosting a weekend campout, and the work starts today!  Hmmm, I'm not sure how many things I'll get done but you can bet your boots I'm going to attempt to make some of them while my brain is inspired!

Today's card came as kismet.  I was inspired by CAS Christmas - Watercolor/Sunflower, however, that proved to be too much.  I tried (sorry, Loll)!  But my coloring ran and seeped, even though I thought it was dry.  It wasn't apparent right away, so I was quite dismayed when I came back to finish it into a card!  That said, I reverted to the original intent of the product and came up with this, prior to seeing the inspiration at another challenge ~

I ink blended onto the die, then the florals were then popped onto a die background and finished with a few Nuvo drops.

The base is kraft, the background die is a remnant of that lucious paper received from Stampin!withJaydee -- it's gorgeous IRL!  And my drops?  Well, I'm not great at them, Stickles yes, but clearly Nuvo drop challenged here.  The sentiment was added on kraft with the espresso brown ink from the dark blending.

Hang In There!

 Welcome, welcome!

Today's post is all about encouring my son-in-law.  Yes, this would be the one who was in a severe accident, just 4 short weeks ago.  He's doing pretty amazing, considering the trauma and LifeFlights he's taken!  He even returned to work part-time, more for the mental stimulation than anything, as he's finding it hard being still.  

Here's his card ~

The new image was stamped, then the bobber, worm and heart colored with Copics.  I then masked them off and sponged the water and sky, drawing in more skyline break.  He's pretty cute for a guy hanging on for dear life!

CASEing

 Hello and welcome!

I'm here today with a couple of CASEd cards.  Last week I actually made it to a PFS Craft Along, I usually miss them because they're early on Fridays but it happened to be my Friday off and no other urgent matters going on. Anywhooooo... 

the first 3 cards were designed by Heather Hoffman or Lea Lawson, and I put my spin on them.

Card #1 ~

Card #2 ~

The first two card were made from a large 6x6 panel from a heat embossed rubber stamp, light ink blending in select areas, the flowers ink blended with a stencil, then split diagonally and placed according to your liking on opposing corners.

Card #3 ~

Lightly stamped 6x6 rubber stamp, then partially ink blended with the stencil and placed under the pretty frame.

Card #4 ~

This card is a similar design but I definitely wanted to use up the leftover panel from card #3.  I couldn't see a great strip going to waste!

Springtime with Michele and Marcia

 Welcome, Friends!

Do you all remember that I was able to go meet one of my "internet besties" last March, AND I met a new friend too?  Well, while I was at Michele's house, I also perused her stash, stamped a few "likes" and brought them home.  Today's post features those items made into cards, that are not of the Christmas variety.  Buckle up, we're going for a ride!

Card #1 was a panel that was ink-blended using Altenew's Pristine Peonies, then mounted on a PTI Lavendar Moon panel debossed with a PFS Notched Corner detail die.  This card will go to Triple B - September.  While the mood board had beautiful yellow butterflies, blooms and a bird, I opted to stick with what I had.

Card #2 was actually made from some pretty leftovers from another card, and I'm sorry I don't remember the stamp used.  It was paired with an Altenew Organic Linen embossed panel and a PFS foiled ephemera for a QACAS card.

And the piece de resistance?

Card #3 is my favorite!  I'm not sure whether it was Michele or Marcia that came up with this color scheme but it just speaks joy into my heart!  The Stamp Market's layered Peony Dreams stamp, embossed SU Time Worn Type, over a layer of PTI Melon Berry c/s and one more PFS ephemera sentiment.  This card will go to The Flower Challenge #95 - Stamped Flower.

PFS August Create & Connect

 Hello!

I know I've been absent quite a bit, but I have had a chance to make a few cards.  I'll be trying to catch up with a few posts, so I hope I don't chase everyone away.

I had signed up for another PFS Event but was unable to make it due to family circumstances.  Here are my cards from Class 1, taught by Kim Kesti of Spellbinders, so we used a suite of their products called Gorgeous You - Perfume Bottle die, Flowers dies and sentiment stamps ~

 

 

Designs by Kim -- bold and definitely beautiful!

 

This first design was Heather Hoffman's Make & Take, using the products and I absolutely fell in LOVE with it!  Sorry about the weird angle, but I wanted you to see the silver foiled sentiment.  The second is my take on her card, adding a little bit of color and sequins, but keeping it light.

My take on Lea Lawson's Make & Take -- softer colors and changing out the sentiment.

Patterned Paper Use

 Hello again!

Welcome, pull up a chair and get comfy while also staying cool.  Today's cards are from Class #1 Hot Foil/Press Plate event.  This class showed ways of using your patterned papers.  Do you have an abundance?  This may help!  The first two cards are ala Heather Hoffman ~

This card uses patterned paper, which you foil right on top of!

This card uses an element pressed twice (to fill the page) and then a frame pressed on top in a deeper color!

This card design is by Carissa Wiley.  Instead of foiling on top of the patterned paper, the frame is foiled separately, snipped apart and added as accents to the corners, plus foiling on the base.

And finally, Lea Lawson also used foiling on top of the patterned paper.

Can you use some patterned paper?

It's Quints!

 Hello, and a warm (okay HOT) welcome!

We've been over 100 for many days, and barely down to upper 90's for equally as long.  Watermelon, anyone?  Other than a Memorial Dinner, I try to stay inside and leave the heat to those young'uns who can stand the heat.  However, I still have to go out in it to drive to work or drive home...

Onto the cards!  I've got a few today, from the same PF Create & Connect, so I'll stop the chatter!

Card 1, 2 and 3 ~ designs by Lea Lawson, only varying a bit to my liking ~

This card is hot foiled with the outline press plate, then colored with the stencils, then center cut so a shaker could be made.  I popped up the foiled ephemera over the shaker portion.  The top "envelope" portion is made with a bracket die.

This one was pressed, colored with the stencils, detailed with a Copic and the center cut again.  I chose to not make a shaker and just added my gems around the popped up sentiment.

This one is the same, just different colors -- the middle cs showing through is actually a great peach color but I couldn't get the camera to say that!  The roll of foil shown is Aura, an iridescent gold color.

Card #4 ~

This card is a happy "oopsy"!  I accidentally inked the leaves coral and was going to toss it but after laying it aside, I really liked the color so I used a design by Emily Midget!  This set has 3 pieces to press, but I struggle with the alignment of the 3rd/outline layer, even using PF's template that was provided.  However, I think the outline made this card artsy, and I really love the color!

Card #5 ~

This design is thanks to Heather Hoffman!  I foiled my outline in silver, stenciled in my colors, wrapped and coiled memory thread, then attached my sentiment.  I'm loving these colors!  And the fun thread!

Friends & Strength

 Hello!

I have a couple cards to share today, I know, a rarity these days.  These cards started from a recent PFS Craft Along.  While I was late getting to the event, I was also quickly pulled away again due to family matters.  The first card was made CASEing Lea Lawson and her event creation ~

Love, love, love this stenciling and colors for the background!  I'm second-guessing the use of ivory glitter cs on a white cardbase, but Hubbs says it works due to the colors, white cs and white border on the die cuts.  Here's a close-up to hopefully catch a bit of shimmer from the glitter frame and foiled flowers!

Nope!  No shimmer or shine there!  A bit of overcast skies...

Then there were leftover flowers, so the second card became a reality, especially since I needed a Sympathy card due to another family member passing ~

There Is Always A Reason To Smile

 Hello and welcome!

I'm back again and refocused!  I'll be doing a few posts, well maybe a little more, of the items that I got to play with recently in Michele's fantastic studio.  Need I say more?  How can you go wrong in her studio?!

These two cards are from Alex Syberia and they were both hot foiled.

Card #1 ~

Foiled in black and colored with the matching stencils, using some glorious colors!  The tulips were placed on a banner, popped up with foam tape and then I added a sentiment provided by was gifted by Michele.  I'm sorry to say that I don't know where the sentiments are from, but they are wonderful!  Thanks again, Michele!  This card will go to Color Hues #84 - Peach & Green, Four Seasons - April/Anything Goes and The Flower Challenge #90 - Layers.

Card #2 ~

Foiled in gold, colored with stencils in more amazing colors, popped up on foam over the foiled frame and sentiment.

#pfcreateand connect - Class 1 w/Anett Gelencser

 Good morning!

I have another set of cards from the recent Create & Connect event, and while there are some beautiful cards, these two just struck a chord with me!  Anett made some beautiful designs, and I made very little changes to them because I was so smitten.  Here's my renditions ~

A folding easel card with top opening, the butterflies all made with the washi tape!  I haven't really gotten onto this bandwagon, but it sure makes beautiful cards!  Anette used a second stacked sentiment for the prop of the easel, where I changed it out to gems and a butterfly inside too.  I didn't take a flat photo but I'm sure you can image it.

This beauty absolutely captivated my heart!  Believe it or not, it is a pop-up window box, covered by the smaller frame so it lies flat for mailing in the envelope.  The colors, the design, everything... - you get the point, I'm totally enamored!  This card has already found its home, as well.

I wish I had taken photos of the card types, but I actually took all photos between the classes on our "hour rest", which is when I was compelled to clean, reset for next class and get a glass of water or cup of coffee!  The classes were amazingly organized though we did experience a couple of technical issues, but still amazing and fun to feel like you're sitting and chatting with these card superstars!  I have to admit, even with doing the "homework", I still was busy during class and didn't do much chatting -- I can multi-task, but apparently not listen to instructions, and follow the instructions and chat too - lol.

Since these are an all-NEW suite of products, I'm sending one of these off to play with Darnell at NBUS #60 and to Triple B challenge.

Handsome New Smile!

 Welcome, Dear Friends!

I've come today with a card made for my sweet grandson.  Just last week, he had one tooth pulled (a baby that just wouldn't let go of its spot) to make room for the adult that had come in behind it.  As if that wasn't enough, they decided to help the move along by giving him braces -- all in ONE day!  Ugh!  I remember braces quite well unfortunately.  Anyway, he's got a handsome new smile and so I got to make him a card!

Stamped, masked, ink blended, colored the image, cut down the panel and die cut his name.  Then I used a silver Signo and added in those braces!

See that handsome smile?  Almost as cute as my Grandson's!  I used the colors from the recent Color Hues but didn't make it in time -- que sera, maybe another time.   Here's the true handsome smile (used with permission) ~

Wow, pure pride and joy, right here!

Hot Java Mama

 Hi again!

Glad you could stop by and visit, hope you enjoy your time and grab some rest too!

Today I have a card for a couple of challenges, I used the colors from Color Throwndown #712 (blue, orange, cream and kraft) plus the theme at Inspired By...#205 (National Coffee Day).

I've used this little lady before, but the sentiment in the corner is NBUS, so I guess we'll head in that direction to join NBUS #43, as well!  This image always makes me smile, I can just relate so much!
