Strut Your Stuff

Happy 4th of July!

Today's post is all about a Birthday card.  Not quite a 4th of July Birthday, but close and any Birthday counts, right?!  I made a masculine card to post for today, using a brand-new product, so definitely NBUS.  This Birthday card has already been delivered ~

Mr Clucks was stamped, Copic colored and placed over a matching/fun piece of patterned paper.  Isn't that sentiment just fun?  The others in the set are equally fun too.

This will be sent to NBUS #76

Supplies:
Unity - Still Peckin' Fabulous (NBUS)
HB - The Bees Knees pp

Hugs,
TK

Birthdays Abound!

Hello, and welcome to my little world!

It has been a rough,  but event-filled week.  I was able to make a couple cards quickly (wish I had more time, but more on that in a bit)!  We're celebrating two Birthdays today, celebrating yesterday but actually one was Wednesday and the other was yesterday.

Here are my cards ~

My grandson turned 13 yesterday!  Ack -- how does that even happen???  I'm told he still loves my "cute" cards, that he even saves them -- how sweet is that?!  I told him that I'll try to be more age-appropriate from here on out... maybe?  Stamped, copic-colored, cloud popped up, panel layered over washi -- pretty basic in the making.

And talk about age appropriate!  NOT!  This card was for my son-in-law.  He's awesome and always has goals, so I'll pretend that it's appropriate.  Stamped, copic-colored, then the moon was masked and the sky ink-blended in.  A couple of white pen highlights on the fox - EZ PZ.

We wish both our very best!

Supplies:
Card #1 - ME Ella & Friends, washi
Card #2 - CCC A Fox's Life; MFT Wonky Rectangles; LF Upon a Star; Splb Wonky Squares

As for me and more time?  Yep, I put in my two weeks notice!

Hugs,
TK

Happy Birthday, Viking!

 Hello!
I'm here today with a quick post to finish out a Birthday celebration for our son-in-law.  He's an amazing individual, a heart for helping, kind and gentle, smart and so many other attributes.  We celebrated his Birthday with my daughter and his family and a wonderful meal, and now to share his card.

I saw this stamp set awhile ago, and then again recently over at Michele's blog.  I knew I had to have it!  While intending to use it for my grandson, my daughter informed me that right after my son-in-law's birth, someone mentioned he looked like a viking.  Thus, my card for him ~

Isn't he handsome?  Gotta love that plaid paper too -- wow, I knew I had to have that too when I saw it.

You'll notice that the gorgeous paper also has foiling in it's stripes... a little hard to see but the gold is foiling too!  And a close-up of Mr Vike ~

You'll see this handsome dude again soon!

I used the MFT Wednesday Sketch #641 and my new Viking set, so we'll send this over to NBUS #49!

Supplies:
MFT - Viking, BP #27, Wonky Stitched Rectangles
   SB - Confetti (Birthday sentiment)

Thank you for the visit, and my hopes are that you have an amazing week!

Hugs,
TK

Two Cards (and a red face)

 Hello!

I've been quite absent, a lot going on and missing out on a lot too!  I won't go into details but needless to say I was DETERMINED to visit Darnell's final Twofer Challenge and get my final entry in.  Well that's where the red face comes from!  You see, I was so determined that I made the following cards, only to discover the challenge was for Dogs/Cats, not BIRDS!  Doh!  Sorry, Darnell!

So... here's my cards that will NOT be going to Twofer, but they do have a purpose...

Card #1 ~

An Anniversary card for Daughter #1 and SIL -- 10th Anniversary this year -- where oh where did the time go?!  I water colored the stamped/clear embossed birds, insides of the hearts, and background using my Zigs and a water brush.  The sentiment was heat embossed on vellum.

My second card will be entered over at Color Hues #24:  Turquoise and Coral.  Ta Da - I used my CP Inks, thanks, Michele, for the prodding!  The flowers/stems were stamped in the challenge colors, and then I stamped a bird with a DI, so I could do some light water coloring.  I then popped up the bird, and stamped a sentiment, so here's Card #2 ~

Supplies:
   W&W - So Tweet

Dkrm - Anniversary (sentiment card #1)

C&9 - You Are Lovely turnabout (florals card #2)
MFT - Adorable Adventures (sentiment card #2)

Thank you for your visit and your patience as I try to get back to a routine.  I hope to be visiting you all soon, if I haven't made it yet (my in box is really full)!

Hugs,
TK

Anniversary Emboss & Cut

Another weekend, another card for a recent event - Wishing Dtr #3 and SIL #3 a Happy Halfiversary!  Just honoring the day that they married in a traditional ceremony amongst family and friends.  This one's for them!

EZ peasy, cut & emboss all in one pass, pop up on card base, stamp and yes, it's that easy!  Very pretty, but quite easy.  I love the depth of the embossing on this folder, and also that it can be used vertically or horizontally, and that it allows a flat area perfect for stamping.  And a close up...

While it isn't quite their Halfiversary, today we're celebrating my daughter's Birthday, their Anniversary, and son-in-law's Birthday combined all together with a family get together.  So off to prepping for me!

Supplies:
SB - EMboss & Cut Flower Gard
   SnS - Anniversary Innies

Thank you for your sweet words, and uplifting joy you all bring!

Hugs,
TK

MFT Color #124

I found a color challenge that fit perfectly to my needs for an upcoming card, so I took that challenge and ran with it.  While my photo doesn't do the colors justice, I'm hoping that you can see the likeness, because honestly the colors are really close IRL.  Here is the challenge colors -

And here's my card -

A die cut, an ink blended background, double stamping & heat embossing (on card base and banner), spritzed with shimmer, and that's all I can say about that!   :o)   I am a little bummed the colors didn't show as they truly are, and the shimmer is hard to see, but if you enlarge the photo below, maybe you'll see the twinkly sky.

Supplies:
   MFT - Paris Skyline die
   PTI - Birthday Stylish Sentiments

As always, thank you from the bottom of my heart for the love you spread around here -- it means the world to me!

Hugs,
TK

Time to Heal

Howdy, Friends!

Popping in yet again to post another card, made in my absenteeism here on the blog.  I see that it fits in with MFT Sketch #412 and Color Throwdown #520, so I'll send it over that way, and play along since it's been so long since I've really posted much, let alone play!

This card was sent a bit ago to someone who broke his ankle, so I felt he needed a bit of cheer.  I also packed with a few things to help him stay occupied during his recovery.  I hope it helped!  Onto the card...

As you can see, I tipped my version but alas the sketch is still there.  Unfortunately though I have a MFT "window" Blueprint type die, I didn't use it  this time but I will enter anyway...  And don't the colors match up great with CTD?  Love when that happens (not very often in my world)!  I hope you pop over and see all the great cards in both places!

And again, thanks for taking your time to spend a few minutes with me...

ETA:  Bummer!  I missed CTD....

Quick & Easy Birthday

Had a couple Birthdays, and no cards, and even less time.  So, these were put together really fast...  Not that I think these are my best work, but definitely not my worst, but it was the reactions that were elicited that I really enjoyed -- isn't that what this is all about?  Well for me it is... I love giving cards that I've made, but the reactions are awesome too!  So here they are...

Supplies:
Papers - PTI New Leaf, Blueberry Sky, Neenah 80#
Ink - PTI Smokey Shadow, New Leaf and Blueberry Sky (last two inside)
Die - SSS Big Word Pop: Scalloped
Stamps - SSS Sending & Wishing, ME Origami, HA (OWH) Missing Ewe
   Copics

Not sure how I worked this out, but everything except the ME stamp (including the SSS die) are all NBUS!

Thanks for stopping by!  Hoping your weekend was great, and the next week blesses your socks off.
