Warm Holiday Wishes

 Merry Christmas!

It's really easy to get caught up in the hooplah, rush and busy-ness of the season, but I hope that you get to slow down and enjoy the Joy, Wonder and Gift of this season.

Today I've come with my last card for Christmas this year, in hopes of taking a short break and resting in peace.  Does it mean I won't make any cards?  Nope.  Or be visiting your wonderful creations?  Nope.  I just need to slow down and enjoy the holiday.

Foiled in silver, colored and then WoS on the white flowers and Stickles in the centers, all on red c/s.  I made another similar card with gold-foiled flowers in the lower right, sentiment in the upper left, colored with deeper colors and popped onto a green card base.

SB - GOM 10/22 Poinsettia Spray, Holiday Sentiments 2

Best wishes to all of you and may your Christmas be filled with wonder!

Thank you for being my Friends and supporting me!

Hugs,
TK

New Stash

Hello and welcome!
Remember that pile of new stash I promised some more cards from?  Well, today I've got a couple of cards to debut two more items (plus another NBUS item), so let's get right to it.

My first card ~

A delicate wreath stamped, heat embossed in silver pearl, colored then die cut and popped up on a linen base.  Here's a close-up because I know the details are tiny ~

The sentiment was foiled in red.
And card number two ~

This little cutie started with the image stamped, colored and die cut.  After finding no real options for a background that I wanted, I decided to try out a new-to-me NBUS stamp.  I used a plaid builder stamped and two matching colors, rotating the c/s 180 degrees after the first color.  Perfect!  After cutting it down and attaching to the base, the cutie was perched before adding the reverse foiled sentiment (leftovers from another card), to ground her.

Oh my, a little Stickles was added to the hat's pom pom and trim too!  Look at that Aura foiling -- while not perfect, I do like foiling the solid portion too.

Well, that's it for me today!  Hope you're winding up on tasks and looking forward to the joyous Christmas holiday - I know I sure am!

Card 1:
MFT - Winter Wreath & die (NBUS)
   SB - Red foil
Card 2:
MFT - Warmest Wishes & die (NBUS)
C&9 - Christmas Plaid Turnabout (NBUS)

Merry Christmas!
Hugs,
TK

Happy Birthday, Deer!

 Good evening!

Today's post comes as a post-Birthday post, a card for Hubbs!  I didn't get to post it, since yesterday was his Birthday and I've been running in a BUNCH of directions trying to prepare for Christmas, his Birthday and just get caught up with life in general.  I received this set just days ago, an enabling from sweet Michele.  I thought about it, and I had no deer stamps, dies or anything so I decided this one was just too cute to pass up.  Here's my card ~

Again, I used the glorious colors from Color Hughes #54 - Navy & Cream.  I used a couple of NBUS items, so this will also go to NBUS #45.  I used the cream base, embossed the navy panel, and then cut it a little larger than half before attaching it.  The deer were stamped and die cut, attached hanging off the center panel, and then hot foiled the sentiment with matte gold and cut it down into a banner before mounting it.

As you can see, the matte gold foil looks awesome, I felt it worked better with the cream color choice.  Also, I really hope that the brown antlers are considered "neutral" since related to the cream tones.

Supplies:
PTI - Deer To Me stamps/dies, Stitched Florals coverplate (all NBUS)
SB - Slimline Confetti (Bday sentiment)

That's it for me today!  Hubbs and his bowl of peanuts are beckoning me down to the Family Room!
I do need a few more Christmas cards and tags, so maybe you'll see some more of my "new stash" soon.

Hugs,
TK

Brrr, Bear & Fishes - Oh My!

Hello again -
Are you staying all warm & cozy?  I sure hope so!
Are you ready for Christmas?  I sure hope so (I am not...)!

I have a Birthday card for you today, but also a bit of "the back-story".  I had gotten notice in my e-mail box that I had a generous gift certificate to MFT.   Well I thought it was a prank or "fishing" or...  so I did nothing.  Then about a week later, I decided to give it a go because I saw that MFT had a sale going on.  I started by adding dies for some sets that I already had.  Then I was reminded of a stamp set that I see often that's as adorable as can be, so that went into the basket as well.  Oh yes, and then another set, also too cute.  The savings kept piling up, but I still had money left!  A few more things into my basket and this is what I got ~

Polar Bears, Wreaths, adorable Birdie Brown girl, dies, stamp envelopes for large sets (uh, the bears!) and then a freebie stencil ended up showing up in the basket too!  And guess what?  The gift certificate was real!  Come to find out, this happened ~

Wow!  I had totally missed it, and now I had a new cart full of goodies!  So being the good consumer that I am, I decided to start using my new NBUS stuff!  Here's a Birthday card ~

Copic colored, ink blended clouds, silver pen on the skates, and some winking on the fish to make them slimy!

I'll be sending this over to NBUS

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, HUBBS!

Supplies:
MFT - Polar Bear Pals & dies, MFT Cloud stencil

Thanks for the visit!  Take care and stay safe!

Hugs,

Faith, Hope & Peace

 Greetings, Friends!

Today's card is a pretty card, but unfortunately our gray winters don't allow for great lighting, so indoor lighting it is.  I've chosen the colors over at Color Hues #54 - Navy and Cream.  Here's my disclaimer, the cardstock really is Navy and Cream, I'm so disappointed that my camera cannot capture it with the current lighting.

I stamped the Nativity Scene in Navy blue on cream card, then used a gelly roll in clear to add sparkle to the star atop the manger.   A Copic pen was used to mark the ground, and  then the scene cut out in a half oval.  The dark blue card stock was meanwhile spritzed with shimmer spray and left to dry.  I then mounted the scene over the shimmery sky and foiled the sentiment below.

Can you detect the shimmery sky, the shine from the Aura foil, or the sparkle of the star?  No?  Sorry, that's all I could get!  Either way, another card for the stash that soon needs to move into mailing mode!

Supplies:
Echo Park - Wise Men Still Seek Him
Clear Star Gelly Roll pen, SB Aura foil

Thanks for stopping by, stay safe and warm!  We have gotten our first snow -- how about you?

Hugs,

Poinsettia Wreath

 Good Morning!

Today I have a card that used bits from a couple of other cards, you'll recognize it, I'm sure.  While not being overly tough, there's a lot of inlaying that takes a bit of time.  This time, I used the poinsettia inlays to make a wreath ~

Inlaying, stamping, and creative cut using longer blueprints die for the sentiment.  A few pearl dots (thanks again, Michele) were placed after this initial photo, to accent the wreath and middle, golden poinsettia.

This will be going over to The Flower Challenge #75 - Christmas

That's it for me today.  I hope you have a fantastic week, and truly enjoy the seaon.

Supplies:
   WF - Poinsettia Panel
   MB - Christmas Botanicals (sentiment)
   MFT - Blueprints 27

NBUS - Christmas Poinsettias

 Hello and welcome!
If you're new, thanks for coming by and if you're an old friend, I'm thankful for you too!

I'm honored to say that I've been invited again to be the Guest Designer over at Darnell's terrific challenge, NBUS #45.  It's a challenge that we all need, because frankly we all have new stuff that's just itching to be used.

I've come today with a new 3D embossing folder.  What terrific texture and depth!  While I love all that beauty, I also challenged myself with a new-to-me technique of embossing, then coloring the embossed elements.  You've likely seen this around lately, and here's my card ~

Wow!  Love the dimension!  I colored the flowers with Copics but left the greenery white, to let the poinsettias shine.  I then hot foiled the sentiment, layered it up with dark green (tho it looks black) cardstock and adhered it.

This folder is actually so big that I was able to cut two smaller panels, and made a second card with a slightly different layout ~

How about you?  Are you inspired to dig out your NBUS products?  Join us!

Supplies:
SB - Scenic Poinsettia folder (NBUS), Holiday Florals (sentiment), Aura glimmer foil

I hope to see your pretties in the gallery!

Hugs,
TK

Poinsettia & Lace

 Merry Christmas!
Oh, I'm a bit early but not really if you're counting all the prep, decorations and planning!  Since we're all knee deep in it, I'll get right to the card.

Today's card is quite CAS in my perception but I do love the way that it turned out.  I'll be sending this to Peace On Earth #28, my inspiration was definitely red!

Oddly the gray skies outside left me to "wing it" on my photos (I'm sure you've noticed lately), so my red is lighter than it is IRL.  I used a beloved poinsettia die to cut out a smooshed panel using Candied Apple DI, and the sentiment was foiled.  I'm not sure why, but after mounting the poinsettia, my mind wandered to a lacy edge die, which accents the poinsettia details.  I added a secondary layer of white edging to the base.  A layer of Wink of Stella to the poinsettia, and wa-la!

Supplies:
   WF - Layered Poinsettia
   AE - Dotted Border

One down, but still working on those Christmas cards!  Have a great day! And week!

Hugs,
TK

Rejoice!

Hello!

We are now running to Christmas full swing, and all the preparations and decorations that come with it.  For me, it is with great effort that I am trying to slow down and enjoy the splendor of the season.  I wish this for all of you, as well!

Today's card is from a new die that I just received and HAD to put to use immediately!  I have a similar die but this one was calling my name.

This die makes a many-layered scene, which can also be made into an ornament.  Gold was cut first for the twinkly stars showing through, the pierced night sky cut from dark blue and then the white frame.  I  really wanted the "manger" scene to be in kraft, so I cut a second layer of the main die in kraft, and then carefully snipped the manger off the white layer.  Mary, Joseph and baby Jesus were cut twice, the front layer in white, and a second layer in kraft for their shadow.  Everything was then layered onto the dark blue base.
A close-up to show the layers ~

I LOVE the details on this layered die!

Supplies:
   SB - Rejoice Nativity dies

I hope that things are well with you and enjoy the splendor of the season!

Hugs,
TK

Shimmering Poinsettia Spray

Brrrr!  Has anybody noticed that someone is messin' with the thermostat?!  Wow, it got cold here in a hurry -- we had such great weather that we were still picking a few garden veggies, then all of a sudden it's below freezing just days later.  Today is a bit warmer but we definitely hit Fall with a bang and almost shot right into Winter!

Welcome!  Today I have a card that was intended for The Flower Challenge but I apparently missed it by hours - rats!  It would've also worked for JUgs, but alas I missed that one too.  So this one goes to Color Hues #53 - Scarlet & Green plus NBUS #44 for a new foiling plate on its first outing.  Put your blinders on, this one's got a lotta shine! ~

I foiled a few of the main images from September Spellbinders Glimmer of the Month (this one in gold), colored it with Copics and cut it out with the matching die, foiled the sentiment onto the cardstock base, then attached the colored image, added Wink of Stella to the flowers and a few dew drops.

Supplies:
SB - GOM 10/22 Poinsettia Spray (NBUS), gold foil and SB Holiday Floral background (sentiment)

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend, or at least those celebrating it, but otherwise I hope that EVERYONE has a wonderful long weekend to enjoy!  Stay warm!

Hugs,
TK

Thankful, Grateful, Blessed

Hello, and Happy Thanksgiving to those who are celebrating today!  I hope your holiday is filled with fun, love and laughter, and lots of great food!

I also wanted to tell you all how Thankful I am for you, how Grateful I am for you, and how Blessed I am (daily) by you!

Here's today's cards ~

A stamped strip, using markers to my rubber stamp and lightly spritzed, cut to size and attached to the base.  I then hot foiled an NBUS plate in copper.  A little ribbon and it's QACAS to the max!  A close-up of that copper foil shine ~

And a slightly different card, let me explain ~

In an attempt to add a bit more detail, I decided to add an embossed stitched line to the off-white panel.  Welp!  Totally forgot my embossing pad and cut that baby right in half!!!  Ugh, so I recovered after a bit of kicking myself, and glued the lower panel straight down on a new base and now my card opens the top half only... does it work?  A little ingenuity, and I've got a "different" style of card.  That's my story, and I'm sticking to it
😂

On another note, today happens to be my Blogiversary -- yep, 7 years, and I still have those fans who encouraged me to start my own blog!  I've grown a bit, gathered more friends/fans, and I'm still here.  While life doesn't allow as many cards as I wish, I'm still in love with this craft and all of you!

Anyway, back to my Thankful, Grateful and Blessed heart -- thank you ALL!

Supplies:
SB - Stylish Script Thankful, copper foil
PW - Autumn Trio (an oldy but a fave)
MFT -- my offending stitched line die!

No matter where you are, or who you're with, have a WONDERFUL Thanksgiving!

Hugs,
TK

Handsome New Smile!

 Welcome, Dear Friends!

I've come today with a card made for my sweet grandson.  Just last week, he had one tooth pulled (a baby that just wouldn't let go of its spot) to make room for the adult that had come in behind it.  As if that wasn't enough, they decided to help the move along by giving him braces -- all in ONE day!  Ugh!  I remember braces quite well unfortunately.  Anyway, he's got a handsome new smile and so I got to make him a card!

Stamped, masked, ink blended, colored the image, cut down the panel and die cut his name.  Then I used a silver Signo and added in those braces!

See that handsome smile?  Almost as cute as my Grandson's!  I used the colors from the recent Color Hues but didn't make it in time -- que sera, maybe another time.   Here's the true handsome smile (used with permission) ~

Wow, pure pride and joy, right here!

Supplies:
Jane's Doodles - Troublesome Duo stamps
PF - Diagonal Stitched Rectangle dies
PTI - In the Meadow (grassy knoll/sky mask), Smooth Alpha

That's it for today, thanks for the visit and have a great weekend!

Hugs,
TK

On Your Special Day

 Hello!
Popping in with a quick post -- this card has already been posted and received, though a bit late -- SORRY!
I used an NBUS product (or two), so I'll be sharing this card over there ~

You might have to enlarge this to see the details, but I used a cover plate to texture an oval panel, heat embossed the glimmer plate with matte silver and Copic colored the flowers using pinks and grays.  Here's your close-up ~

I actually started with this card below, but there was A LOT of shine going on!  While I like the card, the shine can be a bit overwhelming, there are just SO many colors reflected in this foil, that a little goes a long way.

Well that's it for me, and I hope you're off to a great week!

Supplies:
SB - Illustrated Floral & solid (NBUS & GOM 8/'22); Yana's Special Sentiments (NBUS)
LI - Circle & Diamond coverplate
   WF - Nesting Postage

Happy Crafting!

Holiday Reindeer Cheer

Howdy, Friends!

A quick post since I was able to spend a bit of time in the craft room this past week.  I was gifted this adorable stamp set from a friend (thanks, Ida), and it needed to be used!  I think it's totally adorable, and I hope you do too!

I think this cute image from Unity fits perfectly onto my tag.  I cut the tag twice, once with the image and then did a partial die-cutting in green to extend the length.  I then used the stitched edge to add a little interest.  My image was copic colored (imagine that!), some glossy accents on his nose and the ornaments, string of lights, then the sentiment hot foiled and popped up.  A close-up ~

Oh yes, I added silver pen to the ornament caps and Wink of Stella to the silver bow on the package!

Supplies:
UNITY - Home for the Holidays (NBUS)
   RC - Topped Off Tag
   MFT - Stitched Edge
   SB - sentiment

That's it for me, Folks!  Have a great week, and I hope to see you all soon again.

Hugs,
TK

Holiday Cheer Elf

 I think I can, I think I can, I think I can...
Definitely how I need to keep my thought process in trying to get caught up on my Christmas cards!   Wow, I'm really late but I'm trying....

Anywhoo - welcome to my blog!  Today I have a card that'll be sent to MFT Slimline Challenge.  I really like these smaller slimline cards, so fun to make and just cute.  At first I had to wrap my head around the fact that there would be less space to "decorate" but then again, that really makes the focus take front and center!  Here's my entry ~

I can never get enough of these cuties -- so fun!  I stamped, Copic colored and cut the elements and decided to make my slimline backdrop a little small by allowing some pp to off-set and compliment the tree.  What I actually added after I took my original photo was a silver pen to the black lines on the tree - thus hopefully giving the effect of tinsel garland.  Hope it worked!

Supplies:
   MFT - Santa's Elves

Another card for my stash - yay!
Have a great rest of your week, and craft happy.

Hugs,
TK
