A Coupl'a Tags

Hello, Friends!
So glad that we've all made it through a joyous Christmas, now New Year's and then we can get back into routines and... diets ('er at least eating "normal")!  I hope everyone had a wonderful day spent with loved ones and enjoying the splendor.

I made a couple of tags over the last week or so but have been unable to squeak in the time to post, so I'll put them here together and spare you too much detail.  The first was  actually one of several versions that I made for co-workers with a bit of candy to get them through 'til pie time.

Supplies:
   MFT Fold Up Tags
SSS Abstract Triangles (heat embossed in gold ep)
Sorry but I forgot where I got the sentiment... (heat embossed in white)

And the next tag was a Thank You for an invitation to a brunch, attached to a fresh loaf of english muffin toasting bread.  You'll notice the "sweat" inside the bag, but I did open it back up after the photo... I was just wanting to get a picture and get to bed!  It was after 11 when the bread came out, I used the time to make a tag while it cooled and then put it together for the photo.

Supplies:
   PTI Tag Sale #5
   PTI Thanks All Ways (sentiment)
Inkadinkadoo Thought for the Day (flowers)

Well that's it for me today, I'll see you around soon!  Take care, and be safe!

Hugs,
TK

Cardless Merry Christmas

Well  not really!..but  I'm not posting a card today, just wanting to pop in and wish all my friends a Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and just blessings all around!  You guys mean so much to me... always inspiring me, prodding me onward, and encouraging me "to reach for the stars" with my card making.  I just want to wish all of YOU a wonderful day filled with family, friends, and blessing abounding in love.

See you soon!

Hugs,
TK

Masculine

Howdy, Friends!  Glad to see any of you who still have the time and gumption to visit as we close in on Christmas!  I'll keep this quick, as I have other chores to complete before bed.  I actually used CTS #351, which is showcasing a throwback drawing, to complete a couple cards.  These really are QACAS cards (thanks, Darnell)  that still fit the challenge, I hope.

See what I mean?  I used the overall layout, but switched out the doo-dads for the sentiment placement on the first card.  And here's the second card ~

I actually had meant to pop up the sentiment and slide Mr Birds tailfeathers underneath, but accidently but the scor-tape on the back of the sentiment!  Well, that required me rearranging the bird a bit farther out on his "branch" - lol

Here's the challenge inspiration ~

Supplies:
   Card #1 ~ SB - Label 18 (appropriately edited)
                    SSS - Happy Birthday die
                    Honey Bee - designer paper
Card #2 ~ SB - Label 18 (again lopped off)
                    W+9 - Happy Birds
SSS - Abstract Triangles background stamp

Thanks for stopping by, but please take time to take a few breaths and enjoy the day  :o)

Hugs,

Red Berries & Green Ribbon

Another day, another card!  I'll take every victory, large or small  :o)    I really like the way this one turned out, and I'm happy to be entering it over at TO #150 Merry & Cheerful .  I stamped this with a new set, colored it with Copics and added glossy accents to the berries and ribbon.  I thought maybe I'd overdone it with the glossy ribbon but I still like the shine!

I really wanted to add an entire gray surrounding panel because I felt the color added so much.  However it just didn't look right (maybe due to the square-ish size?), so I trimmed off the sides and went with the top and bottom bit of gray.  Just in case you didn't see enough of that gloss...

It's kind of odd how in the pictures it appears to have bubbles in the gloss but I assure you there isn't.  Maybe it's an optical illusion of the gloss!  Not sure, but I'm gonna go with that one.

Supplies:
   AE - Festive Wreath (NBUS)
TE - Inside & Out Christmas

I'm sure everyone is having as hectic a schedule as me, but I'm so thankful you spent a few minutes with me!  Enjoy the season and take a break to relax.

Hugs,
TK

O Christmas Trees!

A quick post so I can get this into a challenge over at CTS #350, I'm kinda skidding in by the seat of my pants!  I made this with the colors from another challenge mid green, mid blue and gold; however you can't really tell the green!  So...

I hand drew the box and asterisks first, planted my first tree then masked and planted the two other trees.  I hand added the stars and colored in the largest, added the sentiment then put the snowflakes on last.  This is really different, and I'm not sure I like the snowflakes but then again... it's different.  Here's a close-up to show off a little gold sparkle from the Signo gold pen ~

Well, another card down and ..... more to go...  I'll see you soon and hope you all are enjoying the prelude to the wonderful holiday season!

Supplies:
Janes Doodles - Warm Wishes (trees)
   AE - Festive Wreath (NBUS)

Hugs,
TK

Merry Christmas Gnome

The Christmas season is in crunch time, a time for panicking (or rejoicing if you're organized) at how many cards you have left to make.  I actually (miraculously) am doing ok.  I'm not sure how that happened, but I'll be happy with myself anyway  :o)   This card has some pre-foiled candy cane stripe, and a little puff on top!  He's being sent to CTS #349 since they were the sole inspiration, which actually veered drastically from my original thought (maybe I'll get back to that...)!

As usual, it's hard to capture the shine AND get a correctly colored photo, well especially if it's overcast, which is typically the case through the winter where I'm at, so here's hoping you have some sunshine to brighten the mood, even if it's cold outside...  I added the pp, cut the window, stamped and colored the sentiment and outside holly leaves.  Then stamped my gnome on the inside, which I "artistically" added the pom-pom to!  Unfortunately I didn't have any puff paint, so I used Flower Soft for the pom-pom.  Now if my name was Michele, I'd have a stockpile of those ADORABLE little pom poms but alas I couldn't find a one!  And the inside of my card...

My sentiment had to be adjusted way left so it wouldn't detract from the gnome through the window (although I just realized I cut it off in the picture so it looks like it's off the page!), so holly leaves were added to the inside to balance it out.  I also added glassy accents to the belt and boots of Mr Gnome.

Supplies:
   TCP - What's Up, Gnomie
MFT - Peek A Boo window
   Random pp from my stash

I hope your week is going fantastically, that you've recovered from the last holiday and are in anticipation of the next.  I also pray that all of you are staying healthy; my grandson brought home what was originally thought of as a cold, but when my middle daughter ended up having to be taken to Urgent Care post Thanksgiving, we were advised that it was indeed the flu!  I'm praying to stay healthy, and praying for all of you as well.  See you soon!

TK

Birthday Blessings

Here's a non-Christmas card for ya!  This one was made for my mother-in-law, whose Birthday is just around the corner.  I'm blessed to have a mother-in-law who is an amazing person, would give you anything and literally EVERYTHING she has if you asked.  She's an awesome support and a true angel on earth, definitely a blessing!

I saw Rosemary make a card with this stamp set and knew I wanted it!  Now let me explain, Rosemary is a true artist especially with anything floral, so I'm just wingin' it here!...I do like the card, and yes I still like the set.

Colored with my Zigs, I only stamped and embossed the roses and sentiment, colored and added the silver tape border.  Love this card!  QACAS (per Darnell) but I still love it.  This will be entered at ATCAS #173 Blessed/Blessings.

Supplies:
   Altenew - Rennie Roses
MFT - Anything But Basic Birthday
   ME - Blessed

Have a great day, Friends!
Hugs,
TK

Gnome For The Holidays

Howdy, Friends!   I guess if you're here, you made it through the initial holiday rush, you've recovered from "turkey-itis", and survived Black Friday... so let's get onto the card.  I found the colors over at CTD #571 to be gorgeous, conducive to Christmas, and colors I can actually come up with an idea for -- yay me!  Colors can be a stretch for me, especially when it's someone else's idea... I'm also entering this over at TO #149 Celebrations and Inspired By - Pink Christmas.

As you can see, I started with my pretty little girl, colored her and then decided that I wanted to show off more of the silver (sorry the bottom of the sentiment doesn't show well), so I cut her out and made a label with silver ep and silvery paper behind.  As for the challenge at Time Out, I didn't use the twist of "one-layer" but she is celebrating, isn't she?   And, well, I'm sure you all get where the IB challenge showed up! A close-up so you can see the silver a bit better...

I used a silver Signo pen to color her pom-pom and brim of her cap, the stitching on her dress, the stars, stocking trim and silver ep for the sentiment.  I hope you like her  :o)

Thank you all for popping in and sharing your kindness, it is appreciated!  Hope your holidays are everything you could hope for!  God bless you all.

Hugs,
TK

Thanksgiving Blessings

Hope you don't think I'm rude, but just jumping in for another quick post.  It's almost Thanksgiving, and time is precious for everyone, so I'll jump right to it!  I made this card for CTS #349 and plus it's a card for Thanksgiving, I'd just as soon post it now so as not to bore everyone AFTER Thanksgiving!

A bit of white heat embossing, some Zig coloring, pp and a quick sentiment stamp!  Pretty easy, but here's a close-up because...

Supplies:
RC - With A Thankful Heart (pumpkin)
TE - Thanksgiving Blessings (yep, the sentiment!)
pp by "The Slab III" - remember that?  Yep, still got a TON...

Here's my inspiration:

Thanks from the bottom of my heart for stopping in, and being my inspiration and supporters.  If I don't get around before Thursday, please enjoy a lovely day and Happy Thanksgiving, for those in the US!

Hugs,
TK

Merry & Bright Snowmen

Howdy, Friends!  I hope you had a wonderful weekend, and took time to play.  I'm popping in quickly to post a card for Color Throwdown #570.  Here's a look ~

For CTD #570, I used the orange, turquoise and gray; and of course they're sitting on, not to mention made of, snow!  I think the picture may look a bit redder than it is but it is orange with a red under the shaodowing of the orange.  This was actually really fun to color; I love the colors and fun snowmen!   A closer look at the colors used ~

Supplies:
   AI - Holly Jolly
   MFT - Wonky Stitched Rectangles

(Sorry, somehow I had the wrong image, so had to edit...)

Thank you so much for popping in and visiting, your visits mean so much!  And I do hope that I'll be around soon to catch up with all of you; however work will likely be long for the next couple of days, then Thanksgiving so please be patient.

Hugs,
TK

Christmas-y Coral

Hello, All!  Here's a card I managed to get done this past weekend, hoping to get it posted in time, and it looks like I'll make it!  Yay!  This card will be entered at Flower Challenge #38.

First I mixed up the paste in a color that I wanted and spread it through the stencil, actually quite haphazardly to get the uneven edges and actually a rough surface.  I then cut and colored the poinsettia in matching colors.  Once I was ready to add the flower, I realized I didn't really like the "square" corner of embossing paste in the upper left corner, so I used the vellum to kind of mute that effect and added gold pen dots.  However, then I didn't have a paper in a well-matching coral to use for the sentiment banner, so I swiped an ink pad across a white sheet and then white embossed on top of that.  I think it worked out well!  Here's a close-up, hopefully showing the texture of the paste as well as the colors used ~

Supplies:
   MFT All Lined Up stencil
   E by E Mistletoe & Holly stamp/die (NBUS)

Thanks for popping in, and I hope to be around soon to see all YOUR amazing cards!

Hugs,
TK

Christmas Greetings

I want to get this posted to Time Out #148 before my time runs out so I'll make this short, and hopefully sweet  :o)   A Christmas card in untraditional colors, because I really love the colors in the challenge and wanted to test the waters.  Here's the challenge photo

I drew my inspiration from the colors, and the wreath; here's my card ~

While I added some other colors, I tried to keep to the black, gray, red and white -- LOVE!  A little green, actually toned down with light gray, a little bright yellow, and gold speckles in the middle of the flowers, all added with love.  Most of the card speaks for itself so I'll let you get on with your visiting!  Thanks for stopping by, and have a GREAT week!

Hugs,
TK

Fall Colors!

You know how you can start out making a card in one direction, only to get totally turned around and head in another?  Well that's what these are all about!  I started out working on the Twofer Challenge - Holiday Greenery and started my wild and crazy water coloring.   Then the Inspired by...Blankets challenge kept sneaking into my brain so I ended up getting totally sucked into those blanket colors!  Needless to say, I did not use the "twist" and opted for two different occasions, though they could both look fall-ish, they are different as you'll see with the inside sentiment but I do admit they do have a similar "feel" so I hope they're different enough.  Without further yapping, here's the first card, a Fall/Thanksgiving ~

Once again, not so great photos, but you'll get the idea (this is actually cream cs)!  The sentiment was stamped on a leftover, splish-splashy piece of water coloring in fall colors that I made for the next next card.  I embossed the background, cut the leaves and placed them amidst the wind, and mounted the sentiment.

And the second card, an Encouragement ~

Inside Sentiment ` To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under heaven.  Eccl 3:1'

I used the leaf dies still wired together and embossing the background, then placed the leaves cut from the water color panel onto some of the embossed areas.  The sentiment was heat embossed using liquid platinum ep.  And for the two together ~

Do you see the inspiration blankets now?  The colors are beautiful and inviting!  I'll be entering these at:

Supplies:
Both -    LF Stitched Leaves dies
Card 1 - LF Stitched Windy BG
                 PTI Autumn Hill
Card 2 - CB In Stitches, Autumn
                 PTI Beautiful Blessings

Here's hoping you have a wonderfully, warm and cozy day!
Hugs,
TK

Snow(flakes) and Snow!

Hello!  I made a couple cards for Christmas Kickstart #23 Snow and hopefully I'll be able to sneak them in!  I was taking a break from Thanksgiving cards, and decided to make a couple for Christmas to break the brain fog.  Here's the snowflakes (not a great photo) ~

And a closer peak to see the shiny flakes from the silver ep and organza (sp?) ribbon ~

Then while I was at it, I made another card with snowflakes and snow ~

This one has the shiny snowflakes, as well, however it hosts a whole lotta bling from that silver glittery cs.  And another peek although this one was harder to capture ~

Supplies:
Card 1 -  Great Impressions Snowflakes
                   PTI Two Feet Deep

Card 2 - Great Impressions Snowflakes
PTI Two Feet Deep & dies
                  PTI In The Meadow die

   Christmas Kickstart Challenge

Well that's it for me today, and I'll be popping in your way to see a few of your cards!  Thanks for stopping by!

Hugs,

A Couple Randoms

I found with returning from vacation, is that I neither have the time nor energy!  A vacation from a vacation?  Yes please...  Life has been hectic but returning to a load of "must have" work is exhausting.

However I did get a couple of cards made for challenges, but then I realized that I'd rather mail one to a friend than enter it in a challenge.  Now that its in her hands, I'm free to post a non-challenge card  :o)  Here's the first of two  ~

ETA:   I will be entering this over at Addicted to CAS #172 Birthday

And a second card, that'll START my stash for Thanksgiving cards!

This card has a bit of a hidden aspect to it; can you see it?  Here's a close-up...

Sorry for the TERRIBLE shadowing at the bottom, but it was the only way I could get the lighter cream to show.  While I wanted the cream to be in the background, it's super hard to photograph!  A bit of playing around with Photoshop and I could make it show up but so did all the shadows!  Ugh...

It's a long weekend and I'm hoping to get some more cards made; however, being away from my craft room has meant that my creativity is STILL on vacation!  I will try and see if I can join back in to post more soon.  Thanks for stopping by, and have a fabulous weekend.  And THANK YOU to all the veterans who serve(d) and to make our nation a better place for us!

Hugs,
TK

A Few for a Couple

Good evening, All!  I've got a few cards for a couple of challenges, but I'm going to apologize right now (photos are not working for me in the evening photo sessions).  I played in a Christmas challenge recently, and now I've got the bug -- or at least at the moment!  These first two cards will be entered at the Twofer Card Challenge #21 Sweets:

My common element is the sweet latte in the holiday cup.  The card on the left is a holiday card, and the cup on the left is well.... for encouragement, so it will be entered at Time Out #146 Encouragement.  Here's a closer look at both but check out that shine, one with gold ep and the other with pearl paste!

Then while I was on a roll, I made a 3rd card with similar ingredients, still using the holiday cup...

A holiday card and a shaker.  You can't really tell but the frame is actually a gold shimmer cs, glitter red Stickles for the berries and a mixture of glitters inside.

Supplies:
#1 - HA Coffee Cup Tags (NBUS, used in all 3 cards)
#2 - MFT Blueprints 27, SSS Gingham stencil, MFT Hug In A Mug
#3 - LI Stitched Rectangle die, MFT BP 27, MFT Hug In A Mug

This has been a photo-heavy post, but I wanted to get this posted and entered before I head out on vacation.  I'll be checking in with your blogs, but may not post since I won't have all of my supplies with me.  Thanks for stopping by, and hope your days are cozy, warm and cheerful!

Hugs,
TK
