Sunflower 2.0

Hello!

I'm back today with another sunflower, and this will go to a couple of challenges -- Fusion - Front Porch and TCH49 - Yellow & Brown.  I made this card first, and it's really subtle in color, especially compared to my last card!

I used the brick wall, a flower and the layout from Fusion, and the colors from The Color Hues.  I sponged DIs on the brick wall, to make it stand out a bit.  The sunflower was water colored with DIs, and the tag was hot foiled with copper foil and popped up on foam.  Here's a peek at the shine ~

That's it for me today!

Supplies:
HB - Sweet Sunflower stamp, Autumn Afternoon dp
   Szx - Bricked e/f, Labels 18 dies

Thank you for the visit!

Birthday Blooms

Welcome!
Thank you for taking a moment of your day to visit -- you all mean SO MUCH to me!

Today I have a card inspired the colors over at CTD711 - teal, green, yellow and brown.  Now right away my brain had sunflowers in it, especially since I had just finished another card with a sunflower (you'll see that in a day or two) and the inspiration photo has one in it too.  This card was really fun...

I stamped the image, Copic-colored, cut the panel down and popped it up on foam.  It was then centered over the teal plaid dp -- this paper really makes me happy!  Oh yes, I outlined the image with my lightest blue (B000 - I think it's called aqua blue).

Supplies:
   Stmpl:  Bloomfully - Kindness
   CP:  Scallops & Dots
   CCC - Birthday Wishing
   LF - Perfect Plaid 6x6

Hope this is the start of an awesome week!

Hugs,
TK

Frosty Boughs?

 Welcome, Friends!

This card uses a bit of your imagination, or at least mine, so I hope it works to send over to Peace On Earth #24 challenge.  I focused on the frosty pine boughs ~

Sorry, not the greatest photo because I was running out of natural light.
I used an inky embossing folder, with as little pressure as I could get, so the ink would transfer without making too much dimension.  I trimmed down the panel and layered my heat embossed sentiment vellum panel over top so that my boughs now look frosty.  The panel was then placed over a strip of glossy gold c/s cut using an edging punch and mounted on my base.  EZPZ, another Christmas card done!

There sure is a lot of interest and beauty in this inspiration!  I could go at least a dozen ways, if I only had the time!

Supplies:
   SB - Forever Green e/f
SSS - To You & Yours sentiment
   MS - Arch Lattice punch

Thank you for popping in today!

Hugs,
TK

Joy To Your World (and a little Sparkle)!

Good evening, Dear Friends!  I hope your week is going well and nothing stands in the way of that!

I'm back with a couple of cards, basically the same card products, just oriented a little different and different c/s.  One of these will be heading to The Flower Challenge #62 - Add Sparkle.

A friend enabled me to purchase this pretty cover plate.  I cut the plate out of shimmer gold c/s, white and red, then placed the gold solid piece over white c/s.  I pieced the white poinsettias back into the panel, and a few of the red dots.  I also added white pearls to the centers.  After wards, I popped up the heat embossed sentiment on a banner.  A closer look at the shimmer?

For my second card, I used the white panel, pieced in the red poinsettias and totally filled the panel with the shimmery golden dots, and popped up the sentiment on a label die. On this card, I used diamond gems in the centers of the flowers.

Well, that's it for my shimmer and sparkle!  Oh!  I guess this cover plate die is NBUS, so I'll be sending this over to NBUS #42 too!

Supplies:
   WF - Poinsettia Panel

Thank you for stopping by, and have a great day!

A Hydrangea kind of Birthday

Hi again!
Another quick card, for a co-worker's Birthday!  This card will go to MFT Color Challenge #196 - LOVE, LOVE, LOVE these colors!  Unfortunately I didn't have an MFT flower image that I wanted to use for this card so I hope I'm excused!

I stamped, Copic-colored, cut out the image with a frame die that I received as a freebie from Waffle Flower awhile back.  I also winked the flower center but couldn't really grab the sparkle, so you'll just have to imagine you see it (wink).

Sorry for my poor lighting, I finished later than expected and didn't have any natural light to help with a better photo!

Supplies:
   EbE - Mondo Hydrangea
   WF - Nesting Postage die
   PTI - Stylish Birthday Sentiments

Sorry for the quick pop-in, but I just completed a 12-hour workday, so I'm off to hit the hay!  Have a great week!

Hugs,
TK

Congratulations

 Howdy, Friends!
Hope you're all enjoying the weather change, and all is going well!  A short weekend, or so it seemed for me again, but I was able to steal away for a bit of time in the craft room.

Today, I have a card that will go to a co-worker who's retiring after 30 years!  Oh My!  His party will be Wednesday, so I'm hoping to be able to slip away for a few moments and wish him well.  Here's his card ~

I have to admit, I have a love for the fall wheat in this area.  It's gorgeous in color, makes the rolling hills even more beautiful, and ushers in the fall changes, what's not to love about that?!  I have long wished for a wheat stamp that looks realistic, so when I saw these dies from The Greetery, well it was mine.  The wheat was cut out of white c/s, and delicately blended with Fine Linen and a touch of Frayed Burlap.  Afterwards, I decided it definitely needed some warmth, so added a bit of Toffee.  The background and sentiment are both hot foiled, and then a strip of teal blue added to pop in some color.

While I tried to grab a bit of shine from the hot foiling, I just couldn't capture it.  I used a copper color, and I have to say it looks amazing with the wheat and teal.

I'll be sending this to CTD710 (which happens to be a happy accident, but I'll take it) and NBUS #42, since all of the products used on this one are new!

Supplies:
SB - Diagonal Stripes background, Essential Glimmer Sentiments
   TG - Wheat BotaniCuts

Back to work tomorrow, a short week but it's packed with things to happen, so I will bid you all adieu and wish you a fantastic week!

Hugs,
TK

CAS Sparkle & Shine

 Good Morning!

Today I bring a card made for a couple of Christmas challenges, and I hope it'll work for CAS Christmas - Sparkle & Shine and Peace On Earth #23 (the snowflakes).  My card is extremely CAS (in my eyes), and my shine is more of a shimmer, but here 'tis ~

An embossing folder, quickly matted, then some very specific inking (with a full-sized pad) on the debossed snowflakes.  I did do a bit of masking, just to make sure I didn't goober up something I wasn't supposed to.  While my inking is a bit uneven, the shimmer is actually quite pretty.  What shimmer, you ask?

Sorry for the weird angle (and my thumb), but it was the only way I could capture the shimmer!  Well, this will be off to ~

Supplies:
    CB - Season's Greetings
   Brilliance Gold Ink

Hopefully your week is going fantastically!

Hugs,
TK

Masculine Birthday Stars

 Good Morning!

Today I come bearing a card that'll fit a couple of challenges.  It started first with the MFT Sketch #610, then came the JUGs #649 - Repetition challenge, which seemed to fit quite well together so I ran with it.  I took a cue off GD Julie Beech at JUGs, but with two "repeats" so it incorporated both challenges ~

Now that's a QACAS Masculine card!  It'll go to a friend soon, so it won't sit in the stash long.

Supplies:
   MFT o- Stars Above & dies --
   Alt - Birthday Greetings

That's it for me today, thanks so much for the visit -- you guys are truly a blessing to me!

Hugs,
TK

Happy Birthday Crocus

 Hello, Friends!

I haven't been around for awhile but I have made a few cards, which I hope to post over the next week or so.  I was fortunate enough to find the new Inspired By - Apple Harvest challenge in my box, and I'm hoping this basket will work!  I'll post this to NBUS #42 since I used a brand-new-to-me product inspired by Marcia and her beautiful crocuses!  Go ahead and visit, search for crocus and you'll easily see why this product landed in my cart!!

This card goes to Daughter #3, whose Birthday was the 8th but we're gathering tomorrow for the family festivities ~

I used a previous sketch from MFT and built on that.  The crocus were cut from white paper, colored with Copics and a bit of accents with colored pencils and winked for sparkle, which I could NOT capture.  I also used the basket die and did a bit of fussy cutting to get a vellum liner to cover the stems.  The simple sentiment was added off the side.  I love the flowers but I'm also liking the fiber paper showing through the green vellum!

Supplies:
The Greetery - Market Basket, Crocus (both NBUS)
   CCC - Birthday Wishing (sentiment
   PTI - Label L

Thanks for dropping by, and hopefully soon I'll get the hang of creating, posting and commenting -- all together!
Have a great rest of your weekend!

Hugs,
TK
