Masculine Geo Birthday

Hello!

I'm squeaking in to get a card into the challenge over at Freshly Made Sketches #526.   I made this for an upcoming Birthday and the sketch sparked this card ~

I started with the layout and found an old stamp set that works well for any masculine card.  For the inside, I brought in the colors and a bit of fun ~

I used a couple strips of white scraps and swiped the ink pads to color the strips.

Happy Birthday - sketch

 Hello again, dear Friends!

I'm back with the second card I was able to make, and thought I'd share it now. The card will be given soon, but I've already missed the challenge, bummer!  I guess that'll teach me one of these days to wait til the last minute - ha!  This card used a couple of snippets out of my box, a win of sorts, right?!

I drug the two leaves, already stamped/embossed/colored/winked out of the box and thought they fit for a masculine card.  Now what?   Hmmm I found the sketch over at FMS480 and liked that I could change it up a bit but still work.

I used papers from HB Autumn Afternoon, which matched the leaves well.  What you can't see is the winking!  The left leaf actually is winked in gold and the right leaf winked in clear sparkle -- it works well with the golden honeycomb bg paper.  To match, I used another paper from the same pack, although my lighting REALLY changed the color from a deeper green to what you see - almost a marine blue -- oh well!  I used a couple of matching snippets to pop up the sentiment over the leaves.

Congrats - new Promotion!

Another quick post, Friends, but I'm thinking and praying for everyone!  Life is weird, times are tough, and things are challenging but we must choose joy!

Happy Anniversary, Amazing Couple!

Hello!  Sorry I've been MIA lately but I have a quick post for today.  This card goes to my eldest daughter and son-in-law for their 9th Anniversary!  Here's to honoring them ~

This brightly colored wonder was a first - playing with AIs on Yupo.  I had fun, learned a few things and learned what not to do (yes, I got a brown smeared panel too).  After cutting down my panel, I layered it with a cover plate, then popped up the sentiment tag.

Hello, Friends, I hope you've all had a wonderful, relaxing, rejuvenating weekend so you take the week on with strength.

My card today is one made for a male Birthday, for someone who is a great cook, barbecues and now is taking on a smoker too.  My card took inspiration for the challenge over at Fusion ~

I'm sure the sketch inspiration is obvious, but if you zoom in on the desk, behind it is a wall of wainscoting that I used as inspiration as well.  I used a bit on my card too.

Happy Plaid - Gated Birthday!

Like my last post stated "Big plans, Little success"!  I had all the intentions in the world to get around and visit everyone this past weekend, but no success!  So while I have a couple posts to make, I hope you don't hold it against me that I haven't visited you, but know that I will!

So here's wishing SIL #1 Happy Birthday today!  We wish him a wonderful day, and many more Birthdays - he's been an awesome son-in-law to have around!  Here's his card, a gate-fold which is new to me but not so new in blogland... 

I also added a bit of extra "sumptin' sumptin' to the inside and to the envelope...

Case This Sketch #298

Howdy, howdy!  I've been quite absent this year, largely due to multiple reasons, but I am trying to rectify that today!  I've made a few cards, and since this one fits along with the sketch, I'll send this one to play along...

This is in the hands of the "anniversarites", so need to worry here...  As you can I used a little interpretation, main with flipping the sketch from right to left.  This card has some shimmery metallic ribbon and embossing powder, I really like how it turned out.

Masculine Birthday Candles and Pup

HOW long has it been?  Well I believe WAY too long since I've been around posting or visiting, life is busy, Spring is under way and my yard and garden need attention, plus we've had a few wonderful visitors from Colorado in a couple of rounds!  We can all relate to busy-ness....but let's get onto the card since I know that's what you popped in for.

Son-in-law #1 (numbered by joining the family) had a Birthday yesterday, and I made this little diddy in a flash since I didn't wanna go empty-handed to a party that I hosted!  We had a joint Birthday party this past weekend to celebrate a couple Birthdays but his first!  It's pretty self-explanatory...

Well onto card #2...  This one's for my Grandson who turns 6 today!!!  Unbelievable!  Such a character and I really wanted a card that matched his personality.  Here it is...

Happy Birthday, Son-In-Law #1

A busy Easter weekend?  Yup!  This Birthday was event #2 for the weekend.  Since SIL's Birthday was on Easter, we spent the afternoon at my daughter/SIL's house with his family and ours.  It was a grand mixture of Easter dinner and Birthday blessings.  Great food, great company, and a couple celebrations to boot!  Here's his card...

This card's design came from the fact that my SIL, his dad and sister are all bicyclists, something my bum never got accustomed to!  This stamp is actually a NBUS, one that I loved from the moment I saw it.  And although my SIL doesn't ride around on a bicycle with a basket, I just had to put a pup in there because we are all dog lovers!  I took the cue from a color challenge running at the time that I was dreaming up this card, but of course I missed that boat!  And while the sentiment doesn't look Birthday-ish, it worked into and fit nicely with a sentiment from another set, so it IS a Birthday card.  Hey, and Spring is here, so it fits there too!
