Mom - Happiness Blooms

 Well, hello there, Friends!

Today I have a post that'll be visiting a few challenges and be handed to Mom this weekend!  It all started with Ida and I using the same products, ones that I had shared during our last visit.  Then of course, there was the PB Saturday Challenge and the PERFECT sketch at Freshly Made Sketches.  It must've been fate!  Here is the product (main image) that Ida chose to use today ~

I started by stamping the flowers in VersaFine Claire Morning Mist, Copic coloring, adding dots of white and sparkle pens, plus winking with stella on the flower centers.  The darker panel is actually a great compliment, but I decided to add stripes, and so foiled it with an opal foil, which is really pretty IRL, but of course hard to capture!  I then decided to add the small letter dies for M-O-M and popped up the sentiment.
Hubbs says this is his all-time favorite card of mine!  I do believe that the photo doesn't do it justice... but I think he's a bit prejudiced.

This will be entered at (drumroll please) ~

PBSC May- Anything Goes, FMS #685 by Linda (sketch), Triple B May (blooms & colors), and The Flower Challenge #102 - Stripes or Dots

Now, why not pop over to Ida's and see what beauty she's made today!

Supplies:
   PB - Blooms
CP - Scallops & Dots (frame dies)
   PFS - Diagonal Plaid pp
   PTI - Smooth Alpha

Thanks for the visit and have a GREAT day!

Hugs,
TK

Mom

 Welcome!
It's a partially clear day outside, the birds are chirping and Spring is unleashing its colors -- a great day to post a card from Mom.  I don't know about you, but my mom is a flower enthusiast, perpetual green thumb and lover of all things garden.  In time things have changed, but her enthusiasm remains!  While this card is for Hubbs' mom, she too is thankful and appreciative of all that the Lord blesses us with.  With that, this card was born ~

A new pack of flower dies, a VERY old tag die and a whole lot of snippets allowed me to pull this cared together rather easily.  The flowers and the woodgrain were all snippets of past projects, kept for another day, another project and today's the day!

I was inspired by:  CTD741Snippets #453 and Four Seasons: Spring.

Supplies:
   Spl:  Be Bold Blooms
PTI:  My Mother, My Friend + die

I hope your world has sprung to life in living color!

Hugs,
TK

Mom

 Hello, long time no see!

I haven't been here for a few days, okay, over a week but I'm here today with a card!  Another attempt at foiling with my Glimmer machine.  While the foiling turned out, I have to admit that I'm crazily overwhelmed and it intimidates me to no end!  Why?  I'm not sure.  Once I get the foiling done, I seem to be totally LOST as what to do with it next... strange.

Here's my attempt for today ~

The foil color is fuschia and the c/s is a light plum, but somehow they go together. I foiled the letters, then cut them apart with the matching dies.  The heart of flowers was foiled and then cut as well.
A close-up to show the shine ~

Well this technique is definitely stretching my brain and comfort zone!

This will at Time Out #208 - A Special Birthday challenge (Happy Birthday Time Out), where I was inspired by a celebration and the colors, and NBUS #36, because both hot foil plates are new.

Supplies:
PF - Inna Alphabet foil plates & dies
SB - Love Enclosed foil plate (GOM 2/22O), Fuschia foil
   PB - Simple Stackers die
PTI - My Mother, My Friend (sentiment)

Thank you ALL for stopping in for a visit.  See you soon!

Hugs,
TK

Celebrate Mom

Hello, Friends!  Sorry I haven't had much time lately, I do hope you'll forgive me.  I've been extra busy at work and mentally taxed when I get home, so not a lot of card making going on.  I did slip away for a bit and made one card, another to come soon hopefully since I don't have to mail it!

Here's my card for today ~

I used an NBUS die and did a bit of in-laying of the itty bitty pieces.  To make this die work since I wanted it to angle, I actually hooked the outer edges underneath the paper, and the rest of the die overtop, then adjusted the angle until I got it where I wanted it.  Afterward, I used the other part of the die and cut the "swag" in white and layered it 3 times.  I then set about cutting the dark green leaves,  lavender flowers and deep plum centers, and placed them all back into the outline, adhering everything to the base.  Then I added an inner panel of deep plum to make the front whole again.  And a close-up ~

I thought about adding some glossy accents to the "berries" and centers, but Hubbs liked it the way it was and since it was mailed to his Mom, he got to choose to leave it as is.  I also cut the letters with the same lavender, layering it twice, then adhering.  I'll send this over to NBUS #26 and Pixie's Snippets #402, since I used snippets on the white outline, all the lavendar and dark green pieces and small plum dots and centers.

Supplies:
SSS - Floral Swag die (NBUS)
SB - a really old alphabet set

Thank you for stopping by, spending some time, and leaving such sweet comments!  I will do the same soon  :o)

Hugs,
TK

Paper Pieced Iris

 Hello!

Sorry to cut this short, hope all is well with all of you, but I'm here to post quickly before I miss the challenges (again...).

I used the paper piecing part of the challenge from CAS Mix Up - April and the colors I got from Color Hues #16, plus it's an NBUS stamp set (actually new to me), so I'll send it over there too!  Now the colors are "the" Pantone colors of 2021, but if you know a certain someone, I KNOW these colors tug at her heart, as it does mine   ;0)
And a close-up ~

I'm going to leave this without the sentiment, however I think it might go to Mom for Mother's Day, so I'll add one later.

Supplies:
   SSS - Sketch Iris (NBUS)
   LI - Stitched Rectangles
Paper - SSS Spring Kit 2016 & HB Log Cabin

Thank you for popping in -- I'm hoping to see you all soon!

Hugs,
TK

Mom

Howdy, Wonderful World of Bloggie-Land!  I hope everyone is doing well, managing through the "stay home, stay safe" and keeping your hearts uplifted.  It appears that as far as our state, we are at a "leveling" point, or so they are starting to say.  Our area was later to get it and so we are still on the incline but amazinginly a lot fewer cases that I would've expected.  We are an area of 3 cities, and 2 adjacent towns, at the confluence of 3 rivers (in the desert) but over 200,000 people -- so we're doing well with under 500 cases!  My prayer is that all of you are doing the same!

Ok onto the card that you came to visit  (P.S. I hope I'm not too early for posting a Mother's Day card)...

This all came about because I wanted to use the die that Verna gave me in a different way, so I did a partial die cut to make a window, and cut the bottom straight edge with a ruler and exacto knife into gray cs.  I popped up this section over a small section of leftover shaving cream smooshed panel to create a colorful backdrop, but unfortunately you can't see a lot of it!  Iwanted a window box, but I didn't have one so I used a window die, and only cut the top "frame" portion to make my box.  Then I stamped, Copic colored, added WoS and fussy cut out a couple flowers and a frond.  Lastly, I die cut 3 flower outlines from different colors of vellum.  All these were stuffed carefully tucked into the window box.  I stamped and cut a matching label.  Here's a close-up ~

You can barely see the pinks and lavenders from the shaving cream smoosh in this view.  I stamped the inside sentiment and added a matching border!

I can't tell you how much this card makes me happy!  I'm not usually an overly layer-y type person, but I do like this with all the sparkly flowers.  I like it well enough that I'm entering it at The Flower Challenge #43 Spring/Autumn, my second card.   Hope you've enjoyed it too!

Supplies:
   SB - Labels 4 (window)
PS - Grand Madison Window (dissected to make my window box)
C&9 - Floral & Flutter dies, Wild Flower stamp
PTI - My Mother, My Friend

Thank you for the visit, and sharing a bit of your day with me, I truly appreciate all of you more than you'll ever know!  You are my inspiration and cheerleaders, and for that I'm thankful.

Hugs,
TK

Happy Mother's Day... even a few days late!

A quick post share a card I made for my mom!  She loved it, because well, she's my mom :o)

This was pretty quick, a popped up label die in a couple of sizes with the matching inside stamp, set over a few sprigs of greens.  I split the sentiment to frame out the.... well frame.

I decided to frame inside sentiment with a matching stamp, and a little more "greens" at the bottom".  I kinda feel like I'm talking in circles with all the "doubles", must be all the OT lately.... brain-fried, I believe is what they call it!  Oh well...

I do hope all you moms had a wonderful day and enjoyed your family.  And for those that don't?  I hope you had a superb day, surround by lots of love!  Thanks for poppin in, and sharing your day with me.

Hugs,
TK
