Christmas Vented Star

Howdy, howdy!  Just popping in with another one of my "multiples", hope you enjoy....

Well, this one use a really pretty foiled paper called India Gold by The Paper Company!  i ADORE this paper!  kind rustic, kinda "old", definitely pretty in my eyes!  Anyway, onto the card!

Wow! Love that paper...  Anyway, I set the star on an angle, then decided it may not have been quite enough of an angle so I decided to pop up the sentiment and angle it too.  Hopefully it looks better this way!

And the other two?

Well, that's it for me today, except that I'm sending one of these over to make an appearance in MUSE #245.

Hugs,
TK

MUSE #190, Color Throwdown #417

I have to sadly admit that the frustrations of last week apparently are not over yet.... I tried seriously to make several cards the other night, staying up late, only to throw everything in the trash!  I have tried, and made a couple since although I can honestly say that they're not my best -- my "groove" has definitely taken a hit!

Here is one that I've completed, and so I'll put it into a couple of  challenges knowing well that it isn't my best.  But!  When you get thrown from a horse, you MUST get back up, so here it goes...

My die cuts were cut from a leftover watercolor panel from another card and deeper accents sponged on.  I used an inked embossing folder and light pressure to transfer the woodgrain in color instead of dimension.  I left off a sentiment, and even left the inside blank to fill out when I use it.

When I saw Estelle's inspiration card at MUSE, I knew I had to try.  I love the beautiful pop of burgundy, the homey wood-grain and then those beautiful leaves so I used them for inspiration, changing up the colors and leaves.  Take a peek & enjoy...

Then I saw the colors at Color Throwdown #417, and knew I wanted to try to challenge myself to use the light blue because I knew it would be easy using the first two colors!

Products -
   EF:  TH/Sizzix Wooden
   Stamps:  WPlus9 Woodland Basics
   CS:  Neenah, PTI Spring Rain
Ink:  PTI Spring Rain, Ranger Evergreen Bough, Wild Honey

Hope to see you all again soon, hopefully this week will let me be a little more productive!  Thanks for stopping by!

Hugs,

MUSE #185, SSS Wednesday: Anything Goes

Well wonders never cease! I made a card and it miraculously fit into a couple challenges!  If I make a card for a challenge, it doesn't seem to work for anything else; but when I just make a card it usually NEVER fits into any challenges!  Well, I broke out of the dilemma for a bit!  This card is on its way to a special someone who made a generous card donation to RFK.  What is that you ask?  Just check the tabs above....  So on to the card, shall we?

I started with a colored card base, added the pp cut using a border die, cut the base and outline for the word die and popped it up on foam dots.  Finally, I placed a few Doodlebug sprinkles, thanks to the wonderful generosity of Michele!  A close-up showing the dimension...

And an attempt at showing you the wonderful sparkle from the sprinkles!

This little ditty will be heading to MUSE #185 (Aileen Ryan), and SSS Wednesday: Anything Goes.
For the MUSE challenge, I used Aileen's beautiful floral inspiration, and her wonderful stand-out sentiment.  For the SSS Wednesday, I used Spellbinders.

Products -
Paper:  PTI Winter Wisteria, pp from Colorbok Fresh Linen, Neenah 80# white and SSS Gray
Dies:  Spellbinders A2 Scalloped Borders 1, SSS Thankful (NBUS)
Stamp: ME True Friends (inside sentiment NBUS)
Doodlebug Sprinkles in Lily White Glitter

Thanks for spending your time with me!  I love having you visit me!  Hope your day is truly blessed...

MUSE #184, CASology: Frame - So Sweet

I have a few thank yous to send cards for, but just the one for now.  This one goes to a sweet neighbor for all the help with Daughter #3's Wedding Rehearsal Dinner.  The dinner was at our place, all homemade, but this sweet neighbor helped me stage, watch food levels and clean afterwards, which allowed me to enjoy and visit with new in-laws and friends.

Playing with my Inka Gold recently, I made several sheets in different colors.  I used two sheet with blue and silver for the frame and flower, and a green and gold for the leaves.  The second sheet of blue and silver was used for the outline of the flower, since it was a bit darker in color.  Leaving the center of the flowers in white, I used gold gel pen, and then glue with glitter to add a bit more interest.  Here's a close-up...

This will be going to MUSE 184, using Jenni Murray's inspiration, below.  I used her colors, floral image and frame for inspiration.  I changed her inked image to a die cut, as was the frame.

And going to CASology: Frame -

MUSE #177 - Thank You, Bloggie Friend!

Wanna see the spread I won?  I left some love on a card of Teresa of Paperie Blooms, and apparently she was having a giveaway that I wasn't even aware of!  Go ahead, go check out her blog, I know ya wanna!  Well here is my blessing...

This cards for her, using some of the items in my "surprise package".  I stamped & embossed the floral image, water colored the backdrop, cut out the frame and mounted on fun foam, then added my sentiment strip.  I'm still in the experimenting stage of water coloring, I'm not really comfortable with the technique yet, but I'm playing!

A little close-up showing a bit of the shimmer.

Well, since I'm away, I'm really praying that this gets to Teresa BEFORE this blog posts - lol!

I'm entering this in this challenge:

I used the framed focal point, and nature inside the frame, piercing on frame changed to piercing on my banner.  I changed the colors, size of the sentiment and added the banner for my sentiment.
Unfortunately I will be away from my 'puter during the voting time, but I aml leaving comments!

Supplies:
Ink - Ranger Scattered Straw, Word Lipstick and Dried Marigold; HA Fresh Peach
Stamps:  Stampendous Agapanthus Cluster (present), ME Bear Hugs; PTI Signature Greetings
Dies - SB Label 18, Avery Elle Dotted Border
   VersaMark, Ranger white EP

Thanks for stopping by, hope your day is amazing!

Wish Big!

I made this card, to send to Darnell, to wish her a great Birthday! Yes, I was late to the party, but even later because she had to get it before posting...  So this was made with MUSE #173, Anita Bowden's beautiful card in mind (I'll post it below even though I totally missed the deadline).  The inspiration is obvious, but here's mine...

So I sponged the background, stamped the flower off-edge, clear heat embossed, splattered some water, added the sentiment, matted it and stamped the flower again, without color behind the sentiment inside.  A close-up (I was really hoping you'd see the shine from the embossing but alas I don't think you can)...

Supplies:
Stamps - Stampendous "Fresh Bloom", PTI Birthday: Stylish Sentiments
Ink - R Spiced Marmalade, Wild Honey and Squeezed Lemonade
  Other - Ranger clear embossing

So here's Anita's inspiration:

Thanks for stopping by, and hope your week is an awesome one!  I have another busy one preparing for Royal Family Kids' Camp (only 3 more weeks), my mother-in-law is in town, and I have my 4 year old grandson!  Life is awesome, but busy!

MUSE #162

This kard was posted in the mail, and should be to the recipient, so I wanted to post it on the blog before I ran out of time to play at MUSE.  I wanted to send a kard to a friend who leaves me inspired by her creations and her wonderful comments.  She's sweeter than sweet, and I love to read her punny posts on her blog, as well.
When looking at my kard, it fit into the current MUSE challenge, and Tracey McNeely's inspiration card here...

For my kard, I used her theme and colors; but changed up the splatters to smooshed ef.

Supplies:
Stamps - PTI Funky Flowers Y die, Mini Blooms; C&9th - Sophisticated Script (inside)
Dies - PTI Turning a New Leaf, and MFT Howdy Frames
Ink:  HA Green Hills, Cornflower, Raspberry Jam and Ultra Pink with PTI gray inside

Well, I'm off to work on siding, a project we've been working on for quite some time but would like to finish before it consumes our summer!  I wish all "chores" were as fun as cardmaking!  See you soon!

MUSE #148 and belated Birthday

First, I have to apologize for the photos, it's been really gray here and obviously I need another
method of photographing my cards!  My first card is  inspired by Anita's inspiration card:

And here's my submission:

This second photo is a better representation of the colors and shine... colored with Zigs.

This card is going to MUSE #148.
Paper:  Neenah, DCWV silver Glitsy Glitter
Ink:  Versamark
Stamp: oldie Bold Patterns from Hot Off The Press
Silver Signo pen, HA silver ep

My next card was a belated Birthday for my best friend -- unfortunately, it was really late due to holidays and travel...

I just love all these little elephants that are so popular right now, but I must practice on the coloring!  I also added Glossy Accents to the balloons, but unfortunately you can't see it as I ran out of time before work and getting it posted on the way out the door...

Paper:  Neenah
Stamp:  W+9 Unforgettable
Color:  Copics
Ink: ME Smoke (P), Versafine
Misc: Glossy accents, ZIG pen for doodling

Thanks for joining me today, may God bless you this week!
