A Friend - of Purple!

Did I make you look?  Are you wearing purple?  Well the inspiration for this card comes from a lot of different challenges and directions, but the true inspiration is my friend, Sandie!  If you scroll to the bottom of the post linked, you can read more of her story -- and her bravery!

So let's start with the card, shall we?

Obviously I took the purple to heart, and the twist of "friendship" for the challenge over at Time Out #158.  The flower is a cherry blossom, but I wanted it purple, I tell ya!  I also used a sponsor stamp for the background.  After doing that, I decided to do a bit of surgery on that background, so while you can't see it well through the vellum, I was able to use the sketch over at CTS #365.  By now I was getting pretty excited!  THEN I realized I chose the correct color for that background stamp, so now it's matchy-matchy with Inspired by - Yellow, and I got truly happy!  Wow!  What a feat (ok for me at least)!

Seriously, as I said before, what a blessing and inspiration Sandie is.  She's sweet with her comments, uplifting, and to put it bluntly -- she's amazing that she can not only join us in our craft, but lead challenges and inspire us on.  Thank you, Sandie, you're pretty amazing in my eyes!  Please stop in and read about Epilepsy awareness.

Supplies:
CAS-ual Fridays - Starlequin
E by E - Mondo Sakura (NBUS)

Thank you for stopping in.  I hope that everyone is doing well, staying protected and healthy.  Enjoy our new normal, it may be a pain in the patootie sometimes but it's keeping us healthy!  Enjoy some fresh air, soak up some sunshine and relax.

Extraordinary - You Are!

Hello, Friends!  Hope you are well and happy.

I may be late but I decided to jump on the bandwagon and start sending out some of the cards in my stash, in hopes of raising spirits.  In sending some out, you must make some new ones, right?!  Any excuse is a good excuse!  I saw a sketch, and used it to jump start this idea and a new sentiment that I love.

To create the marbled look, I used ink refills and the shaving cream technique.  While messy, I love the look it gives.  I actually used 2 colors, a cream and the teal, though the cream doesn't show as much.  I then cut them down using a coverplate and used the leftovers to place the hexes where I wanted them.  I also cut a gold panel using the same coverplate and filled in some of the spaces to replicate the design on the challenge but then thought it was hard to see the inspiration.  Either way, I still like it...  And a close-up so you can see the shine and a bit of the cream better...

Another Encouragement card to my stash, and thankful for good health here.  Thank you for stopping by, take care!

Sympathy - Mistletoe

I hope that everyone is well, staying safe, and keeping your spirits high.

A quick post, a card made for a challenge gone by....  Such is life these days, trying to keep up!  I had intended to send this off to one of Loll's challenges, but things stood in the way as life does.  This card will stand alone, hope you enjoy ~

I inked up the stamp, spritzed it and stamped on the water color paper.  I have to admit, this one while simple, actually worked for me!  I tried some different paper, instead of trying to use up my old stuff, and it seems quite a bit better!  Yay!   Silly, but that brings me joy  :o)  I decided to make this into a Sympathy card, even though it uses a winter flower.  I'm not in need of one but I don't like to make them when the need is present so it'll go into my stash.

Supplies:
PTI - Mistletoe & Holly
(sorry, I've forgotten the name of the die)

Thanks for stopping by, and please take care of yourself and your loved ones!

TK

Poinsettia

Hello all!  Today I have a couple cards for a couple of challenges.  Made from the same die cut, I used the negative and positive so I didn't have to waste the beautiful paper -- a good idea from someone sweet and smart.  These will be heading off to CAS Christmas March:  Winter Flower (in honor of Loll's challenges' 2nd Birthday) and The Flower Challenge:  Anything Goes.

The first card (for CAS Christmas) I used the die to cut a piece of shimmy cardstock, and then place it over the red base, stamp a sentiment and clear embossed it (afraid I was gonna get smudges due to shimmy cs), cut a larger tag and popped it up.  Have a look-see ~

Secondly, I HAD to use those extras so I came up with a different layout and did this one (for The Flower Challenge) ~

And just in case you missed that shimmer, I hopefully caught a bit for you...

Thank you, Friends, for stopping by and I send sincere wishes that all goes well during these challenging times with ALL of you!  Stay safe and keep your spirits high with LOTS of crafting!

Supplies:
   SSS - Simple Poinsettia cut-out
   PT - Stained Glass (sentiment)
   CB - Swiss Dots ef

Twofer? Or Threefer?

Good day!  Yes, I'm posting in the day!  I took a couple days off to hunker down and stay in my craft room, so thought I'd get this post done.  I'll be joining Twofer #25 - Spring Animals and Fusion - Nature.

Here's my Twofer:

And individually...

The common element being the flop-eared bunny, it was used for a New Baby card and a Love card.  The first features the little guy in paper-pieced pajamas and secondly used as the random stamping, cut to frame the two love-buns.  Both cards have some Copic coloring and stamping.  And my Threefer?  Well it's actually similar but will be sent to Fusion, for my second entry there, using the sketch.

This little gal is also paper-pieced from the same pack from old SSS monthly card kit.

Supplies:
   ME - Honey Bunny
Card 1 ~
   PPP Easter Blessings
   MFT Beautiful Baby
Card 2 ~
   MFT - Blueprints 27 (tag)
PTI - Mat Stack 1 (window cut)

Thank you for spending a few precious moments with me!  Stay safe, stay protected, I'll be praying for everyone!

Alleluia

Popping in to zip off a card to another challenge, so please don't think me rude and not wanting to stop and talk!  I'd love to do that, and I will as soon as I get around to your blogs!  These two cards were made with the sketch other at Fusion - Nature, I opted to not use the photo unless you use it quite loosely!

So I have leaves - lol - does that count?!  Well I'll go for the sketch anyway, here's card #1 ~

Quite CAS, I stamped the image, Copic colored, fussy cut, added the strip of gold sparkle paper, stamped the sentiment and popped up the image on foam.  After making this one, I had second idea and went for it, ink blending sun rays behind the image and scoring to ground the image instead of the gold panel ~

Do you have a favorite?

Supplies:
(Both cards)  PPP Easter Blessing (NBUS)
RC Easter Blessing (sentiment - NBUS)
Card #2 - MFT Sun Rays

Hope your week is an awesome one!

He Is Risen

Hello, Friends!  Hope you had a terrific weekend; a bit laid back here due to COVID-19, which is in our state (I'm sure you've heard), and now it appears has shown up in our area just tonight.  I pray for ALL who have to encounter this beast, and hope that everyone stays protected and healthy!  On to the card, which has to zip off to Freshly Made Sketches #426 before it closes, here's their sketch ~

And here's my card ~

I used this stamp before without luck, but using a different technique, I had a bit of luck.  I'm not sure why, but I definitely struggle with some stamps, mostly larger/full page ones.  Instead my heat embossing has the issues today, while it's fine IRL it looks "lumpy" on camera - lol.  Anyway, another card down for Easter, and glad to have some success.  I made a few cards this weekend and will post a few in the next few days.  I find with my work schedule it's easier to make on weekends, and post as I can, unfortunately sometimes missing the deadlines.

Anyway, off to get this posted.  I truly hope everyone is staying safe!

Supplies:

More Butterfly Birthday Wishes

Howdy again!  I come bearing another card with butterflies, this time stamped.  I used the challenges at Color Throwdown #583 and The Flower Challenge #42 Anything Goes.

Here's how it came together for me ~

Does it look a bit muted?  Well it is..  I found that the colors were a bit starker than I wanted, so I overlaid the face with vellum, stamping the sentiment on it with Staz-On and attached it by using the thinnest strip of tape, rolled into a tiny rope and hidden underneath the thin letters on the sentiment.  I'm not sure if everyone will enjoy this muted look, but I like it and hope the recipient does too.  Well, I better run, but again thanks for the visit!

Supplies:
PTI - Butterfly Kisses (NBUS... way old)
   E by E - Bold Blooms

Butterfly Birthday Wishes

Hello again, Friends, I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend.  Mine was laid back, Hubbs was out of town, so I took advantage... a bit of shopping, rose trimming and a couple cards were made.  I really attempted MANY cards but wasn't happy with them for one reason or another, so they'll be re-visited later.  So on to today's card ~

I got the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches #425 but wrestled with a couple different options but ended up with this.  I really enjoy the sketch, and could see it working in so many ways.  This'll go to a friend's Birthday.  I stamped the background "banners", cut the die and taped across the back to keep it all together.  I then cut it again in two different papers, giving me reminders of Spring.  The lavender paper is actually quite pretty IRL, it has some dark fibers running through it, making it a fave of mine.

Supplies:
PTI - Sketched Shapes stamps (NBUS)
   SSS - Butterfly Drift die

Thanks for popping in, I enjoy the visits and hope you did too.  Have a great week!

You're Flippin' Awesome!

Hello, Friends, I hope you've all had a wonderful, relaxing, rejuvenating weekend so you take the week on with strength.

My card today is one made for a male Birthday, for someone who is a great cook, barbecues and now is taking on a smoker too.  My card took inspiration for the challenge over at Fusion ~

Here's my card ~

I'm sure the sketch inspiration is obvious, but if you zoom in on the desk, behind it is a wall of wainscoting that I used as inspiration as well.  I used a bit on my card too.
Here's a close-up ~

And the Copics I used ~

I wanted to take a moment to thank everyone who comes to visit, leaves their thoughtful words of support, and encourages me endlessly - your support is not forgotten - You're Flippin' Awesome!  Have a great week!

   MFT Recipe for Happiness
   LI Stitched Rectangle dies
