Feel Better Soon

 Hello!

First, I need to apologize, life has kept me very sporadic lately but unfortunately it will be getting worse.  I'll spare you all the details but just know that I will be watching your posts and checking in, as possible!

Today's card is for a couple of different challenges - NBUS #53Four Seasons:  August  - Anything Summer Goes and Triple B:  August - Birds, Butterflies & Blossoms.  So here it is ~

I started with the sketch from FMS, but I just couldn't get it posted it time!  Enter the bird for Triple B and Four Seasons, and then an NBUS die!  Wow -- how'd I do all that?!  I used my new win, theWF Media Mat (thanks, RosiGrl and Waffle Flower) to ink blend my bird using a few DIs.  I had originally chosen to place the "banner" farther to the right and stamp the sentiment below but things changed as I went.  I actually really like the sentiment up above and the open space below for some reason!

Now, he might be adorned in masculine colors but trust me, he's enjoying his summer!

Supplies:
MB - Backyard Wren (NBUS), and Woodsy Plaid dp
   WF - Arched Dome dies
Splb - Be Bold Blooms (made into a branch - trust me, that bird's all fluff and no weight - ha)
PTI - Inside & Out Well Wishes

Well that's it for me -- I hope to see you all soon, and thanks SO MUCH for your visit!

Hugs,
TK

Happy Anniversary

We meet again!  Hello and welcome!

Today's card was given to Hubbs this past week.  Our 36th Anniversary, and he took me out to a wonderful dinner.  While it fell on a Tuesday (usually one of my longest workdays), the Lord had miraculous plans.  I not only got off on time, but I "flexed" some time and got off early - yay!

While I typically try to make a fun and a serious card, this year it fell to only the fun!  I ran out of time, and so this is what I came up with ~

Now, why would I give Hubbs a card with chocolates on it, you ask?  Well. it was definitely for the inside sentiment!  I stamped the outside sentiment, and then the chocolates with a new to me stamp set, heat embossed the designs on each piece, and die cut them out.  The base was die cut with a new frame die as well.  After stamping and cutting the sentiment, I opted to lop off two opposing corners to reflect the round chocolate shape.  And the inside sentiment, you ask?

"I knew you were truffle the moment you walked in"

Haha - a fun sentiment, thanks to Julie Ebersole!

This will be heading to NBUS #53 since two things made their debut on this card.

Supplies:
PFS - Essential Mini SL frame (NBUS)
   EH - Trufflin' (NBUS)
AE - Loads of Wishes (outside sentiment)

Again, another short post but I'm just trying to keep up with life here.  Lots of loops and valleys lately, so I may be out and about a little less frequently, but I will return as I can.  Have a great day!

Hugs,
TK

For Your Generosity

Hello, Friends!
A quick post because time is slipping away.  This card was given as a thank you to a co-worker weeks ago, so I thought I better get it posted now...

Quick and CAS, just what the doctor ordered.  I love this patterned paper, out of a Honey Bee pack and it just cries to be made into a masculine card.  I used a couple sizes of the nesting dies, an enabled purchase -- thanks, Michele!  Hindsight, I wish I'd put the labels closer together, the top one shifted left, and lowered the sentiment.  While the sentiment was placed in the center of the label, it appears to be closer to the top due to cutting the top off!  Oy, hopefully I learned another lesson here.

Supplies:
HB - The Bees Knees dp
PTI - Signature Greetings (one of my beloved sentiment sets)
   Alt. - Nesting S/L dies

That's it for me today, but I do hope you have an amazing weekend and some fun crafty time!

Hugs,
TK

Christmas Holly & Berries

Hello!

A quick post to get this card into a challenge - Inspired by Berries.  I used the colors from Color Hues #68 Olive & Berry, even though I didn't get my card done in time.  I adore these colors, they just scream Christmas!  I'll also send this over to NBUS #33, since my foil plate and layered stencils are both making their debut.

I foiled the white cardstock with shiny gold foil, then used 3 of the 4 layers of the stencils to add my colors.  I actually used one color of green and just used more or less pressure for the different tones, CP Sage and PTI Scarlet Jewel to the rescue!  I then snipped off the right side and layered it over MFT Midnight Green, foiled the sentiment on a snippet of red, then cut it down using a die.

What'd I do with that snipped off portion?  I added to the inside right after stamping my inside sentiment!  Oh, I did not use the optional sketch.

Supplies:
Splb - Glimmer Holly background, matching layered stencils (both NBUS) and Elegant Holiday Sentiments
MFT - Elegant Rectangle Stax die (sentiment)

That's it for me today.  I'm so glad you came by, I appreciate you!  Have a great week.

Hugs,
TK

Jinglin', Swingin' Snowman

Hello, Dear Friends!  Welcome!

I've returned today with fun little diddy, he's kinda tickled my fancy today -- I guess I need to smile a bit more lately.  I picked up this die last year just after Christmas and he's been sitting on my desk ever since.  I really need to get back into my Christmas card-making, so here's my first go in quite awhile ~

Excuse the photos --- they're not great...
I foiled the background with confetti, hoping it'd look a bit like snow.  He sure thinks it's snow!  After foiling the bg and sentiment while the Glimmer was hot, I die cut all the pieces, and layered them twice, then added WoS to his face, belly, arms and legs before adding in the colored pieces.
I actually was thinking ahead to cut everything on top of a dryer sheet, so when I removed the larger pieces, the small bits stayed in place which allowed me to color them with Copics.  I think cut all the outerwear out of glittery cs, blue and silver then glued everything together.  To hold the bits in place, I put small pieces of washi behind the body and head plus added dots of glue.  To finish him off, I colored his skates with a silver gel pen.

See those legs have moved?  Yep, they're the swingers!  The arms and legs come with little circles to put a small foam dot in the center, which allows the movement since one side of the dot sticks to the bg and the other sticks to the body.  The body was popped up with double foam strips to allow lots of swing - haha!  He makes me giggle.

This guy will head over to MFT Sketch Challenge (sorry, no MFT products today but your sketch was just perfect), Peace On Earth #44 (in the lower right, they're having fun checking out the tree and presents!), plus NBUS #52 for this fun guy's first appearance.

Supplies:
Splb:  Dancin Snowman (NBUS), Glimmer Holiday Sentiments 2, Glimmer Slimline Confetti bg
   PB:  Simple Stackers die

Thank you for the visit, and I hope to be back soon with another card or two that I was able to make this weekend.

Hugs,
TK
