Sharing In Your Sorrow

 Hello
Today's card has already been given to the recipient, it's one of our dreaded cards that we all wish we didn't have to make but is a part of life.

I'm not sure why I ended up with the colors that were chosen, I guess the mood just struck and I do love it on the soft pink c/s base.  I will be sending this to NBUS #49
Four Seasons - Spring, and Triple B - Birds, Blossoms & Blooms ~

I started with an NBUS die and cut it twice - the first layer was white and kept together with tape on the back, then a second in brushed nickel c/s.  I colored the flowers and then added the outline/leaf layer, before placing that on a shadow layer of vellum.  The flower was popped up on foam, the sentiment heat embossed and added with foam on the right, twhere it didn't sit on the flower.

Supplies:
   SB - Magnolia dies (NBUS)
AJVD - Slimline Essentials (sentiment label die)
   MFT - Deepest Sympathy sentiment

I hope your week is going smoothly.  I know our weather is warming quickly and we're going to hit high 80's to low 90's by Sunday!  While I'm loving the warmer weather and sunshine, I'm not sure I'm ready for 90's yet!  Take care and craft on...

Hugs,
TK

A Bee & A Viking - in Turquoise!

 Good morning, Friends!
Today I have a couple of cards, and it wasn't until I was doing the photo editing that both were in turquoises tones!  Must be the color on my brain lately.  Both cards went to my grandson, the first for Easter and the second for his Birthday.

Mr Bee was stamped, colored and fussy-cut, then placed on a piece of dp.  I drew the buzzing line and added the small sentiment banner.  Sorry so late with an Easter card, but I literally forgot to post it.  So since it's my grandson's Birthday and another card was made, I decided to post them together.

Yes, Mr Viking has returned!  I really bought this stamp with my grandson in mind, so I knew I had to make another card with it.  Ironically my son-in-law's Birthday is literally the day before my grandson's Birthday.  I went with fun colors for this Viking!

I used the sketch at FMS #582 ~

Supplies Card #1:
HB - Bee Cool, The Bees Knees pp
SSS - My Favorite Peeps (sentiment)

Supplies Card #2:
   MFT - Viking
HB - The Bees Knees pp

I hope you are having a crafty weekend, and that Spring is sprung in your part of the world!

Hugs,
TK

Especially for You

Welcome!  A quick post today, as it seems that I'm playing catch-up again!  Today's card was inspired by Spring colors from a couple of challenges ~

I stamped this at the same time as I stamped a previous card, thinking that I'd make a Mother's Day card out of it; however, when I needed a Birthday card for someone who works in a building nearby, I thought this would be a good one as it sure says Spring to me!  It was Copic colored (I'm not sure where my deeper yellow-green marker went but I promise I used it), partially die cut and mounted over some matching pp.  The sentiment was hot foiled in another pink tone but it was really impossible to get a good photo of the shine or the color...

Here's my inspiration ~

Can you tell I focused on ALL the pinks?

Supplies:
   MFT - Sweet Celebration pp
   Anita's - Lilies
   WF - Nested Dome die
SB - More Sentiments (glimmer) (NBUS)

Thank you for the visit, and may you have a blessed week!

Hugs,
TK

Happy Birthday, Viking!

 Hello!
I'm here today with a quick post to finish out a Birthday celebration for our son-in-law.  He's an amazing individual, a heart for helping, kind and gentle, smart and so many other attributes.  We celebrated his Birthday with my daughter and his family and a wonderful meal, and now to share his card.

I saw this stamp set awhile ago, and then again recently over at Michele's blog.  I knew I had to have it!  While intending to use it for my grandson, my daughter informed me that right after my son-in-law's birth, someone mentioned he looked like a viking.  Thus, my card for him ~

Isn't he handsome?  Gotta love that plaid paper too -- wow, I knew I had to have that too when I saw it.

You'll notice that the gorgeous paper also has foiling in it's stripes... a little hard to see but the gold is foiling too!  And a close-up of Mr Vike ~

You'll see this handsome dude again soon!

I used the MFT Wednesday Sketch #641 and my new Viking set, so we'll send this over to NBUS #49!

Supplies:
MFT - Viking, BP #27, Wonky Stitched Rectangles
   SB - Confetti (Birthday sentiment)

Thank you for the visit, and my hopes are that you have an amazing week!

Hugs,
TK

A Bushel of Easter Cards

 Happy Easter, Everyone!

I have a load of cards to share, finishing off my Easter cards.  While I used the same few supplies this year, I challenged myself to make things different, so I hope you enjoy ~

Card #1
Die cut out with an oval and a dark green card (even though you can't tell from the photo) placed below it, then popped up on an embossed front.  This sentiment is heat embossed.

Card #2
Stamped (masking all but 1 tulip), colored, die cut with an NBUS braided circle and placed over a red circle, a mini slimline rectangle of green cut, then the circle popped up on foam over the base and the sentiment stamped right on the panel.

Card #3
Image stamped off-set to the left of panel to allow for partial fussy-cutting and placed over an embossed panel.  A colored piece of cardstock to match holds the sentiment and popped up.

Card #4
Image stamped and colored, then cut with a new die and popped up over the embossed panel, using another new product.  The sentiment was stamped on a piece of cardstock, colored to coordinate and cut at an angle.  Does the embossing and angled tag make this one more masculine?  I'm hoping!

Since I have the most NBUS products in card #4, this one will be going over to NBUS #49.

Card #1
   RC - Easter Blessings
   SB - Hemstitch Oval
   Szx - Wooden e/f

Card #2
   PW - Tulip Trio
   RC - Easter Blessings
PF - Mini Slimline Essentials - Rectangle & Circle (NBUS)

Card #3
   Anita's - Lilies
   Szx - Wedding #2 e/f
   PS - Easter Blessings
   Alt. - Nesting Slim dies

Card #4
   PW - Tulip Trio
PF - Diagonal Stitched Plaid c/p (NBUS)
WF - A2 Nested Dome dies (NBUS)

Have an amazing, blessed day!
Hugs,
TK

Easter Tulips

 Hello again!

Today's card features another Easter card, using a few NBUS products - extremely old I'm sorry say!  When I first transitioned from scrapbooking to cardmaking, I snatched up all these items I "just knew" I was going to need.  Needless to say, I spent some time acquiring and not actually using because every time I saw something that amazed me, I HAD TO have it!  Well not much has changed - lol - except the fact that there's this certain challenge called NBUS, and now I'm determined to go back through supplies and actually use them.  Wish me well!
😊

Sorry for the late-in-the-day photo... Tulips stamped on watercolor paper, colored with Peerless watercolors, this is one of the first times that I've felt success with watercolors, yet not where I'd like to be.  Practice, practice, practice - right?!
My inspiration today ~

See those pink tulips?  I just stole the color from those sweet chicks!  This is also my first outing to The Four Seasons challenge - yay!

Supplies:
   Print Works:  Tulip Trio (NBUS)
SB - A2 Bracket Border dies (also NBUS)
PS - Easter Blessings  (Is it too much to say that I have 3 stamp sets, from different companies, that are all named Easter Blessings?)

Well that's it for me today, three more Easter cards to go and it's almost here!  Yikes!

Hugs,
TK

Congratulations on your Retirement

 Hello, and welcome!

Today's card was for my boss who will retiring.  While his retirement is not official until the end of June, he will burning up his vacation bank, out of office (how fun is that?)!
Here is his card ~

Mr Happy to the rescue!  A bit of stamping, foiling, coloring and die cutting using two tones of gray, and this cutie was delivered!
A close-up of Mr Happy ~

A close-up of the bold blue foiling ~

While it doesn't look like it with all the weird camera angles, the blue on Mr Happy's hat and the foiling all match really well.  This will be going over to Snippets Playground #451, all for the snippets of paper used except the actual card base, and NBUS #49, for the NBUS stamp and stripey foiling plate, and I totally missed the MFT Sketch this was taken inspiration from.

Supplies:
St Bella - Gnomes Have Feelings Too (NBUS)
SB - Modern Lines foiling plate (NBUS)

Thank you for the visit, and I pray that everyone is staying safe from recent weather and healthy!

Hugs,
TK

Spread Your Wings

 Hello!
I hope all is well in your parts, I know they're forecasting more snow on the west side, and I've heard of the tornadoes recently.  My heart and prayers go out to all who are affected by the extremes that seem to be landing in our lap.

Today's card will be heading to FMS #579 and CTD #736 - Yellow, Sage and Gray and NBUS #49, for a previously unused stamp.  I don't even remember where I got these stamps, but this is the third of four that I've used.  The card will also be heading to a co-worker who is spreading her wings and stepping out in faith.  We will miss her but wish her well.

I stamped the girl on Hammermill 100#, then colored her with Copics before cutting her out with the beaded oval die.  With the colors all being light, I decided to cut two more oval in similar colors that I was fortunate enough to have in my stash.  I then stamped the sentiment, cut the white layer shorter, and let the second coordinating layer hang out.  I initially had a yellow layer too, but as not happy that it was going to cover both of her adorable stockinged legs.

What?  You've never seen yellow-headed gray birds?  Well that just blows my mind -- I'm sure I've seen them somewhere (or maybe that was in my mind).

ETA:  Here it is!  My gray bird with a yellow head (thanks, Cat)!  It's called a Verdin and gorgeous!

Supplies:
Santoro London - On Top of the World
SZX - Beaded Oval dies  ETAx2:  It has come to my attention that this die may actually be Spellbinders, not Sizzix.  I've had it for so long and it was originally not marked -- sorry!

Well I must run and get this posted, take care and I will see you around.

Hugs,
TK
