Thanksgiving Blessings

Hope you don't think I'm rude, but just jumping in for another quick post.  It's almost Thanksgiving, and time is precious for everyone, so I'll jump right to it!  I made this card for CTS #349 and plus it's a card for Thanksgiving, I'd just as soon post it now so as not to bore everyone AFTER Thanksgiving!

A bit of white heat embossing, some Zig coloring, pp and a quick sentiment stamp!  Pretty easy, but here's a close-up because...

Supplies:
RC - With A Thankful Heart (pumpkin)
TE - Thanksgiving Blessings (yep, the sentiment!)
pp by "The Slab III" - remember that?  Yep, still got a TON...

Here's my inspiration:

Thanks from the bottom of my heart for stopping in, and being my inspiration and supporters.  If I don't get around before Thursday, please enjoy a lovely day and Happy Thanksgiving, for those in the US!

Hugs,
TK

Merry & Bright Snowmen

Howdy, Friends!  I hope you had a wonderful weekend, and took time to play.  I'm popping in quickly to post a card for Color Throwdown #570.  Here's a look ~

For CTD #570, I used the orange, turquoise and gray; and of course they're sitting on, not to mention made of, snow!  I think the picture may look a bit redder than it is but it is orange with a red under the shaodowing of the orange.  This was actually really fun to color; I love the colors and fun snowmen!   A closer look at the colors used ~

Supplies:
   AI - Holly Jolly
   MFT - Wonky Stitched Rectangles

(Sorry, somehow I had the wrong image, so had to edit...)

Thank you so much for popping in and visiting, your visits mean so much!  And I do hope that I'll be around soon to catch up with all of you; however work will likely be long for the next couple of days, then Thanksgiving so please be patient.

Hugs,
TK

Christmas-y Coral

Hello, All!  Here's a card I managed to get done this past weekend, hoping to get it posted in time, and it looks like I'll make it!  Yay!  This card will be entered at Flower Challenge #38.

First I mixed up the paste in a color that I wanted and spread it through the stencil, actually quite haphazardly to get the uneven edges and actually a rough surface.  I then cut and colored the poinsettia in matching colors.  Once I was ready to add the flower, I realized I didn't really like the "square" corner of embossing paste in the upper left corner, so I used the vellum to kind of mute that effect and added gold pen dots.  However, then I didn't have a paper in a well-matching coral to use for the sentiment banner, so I swiped an ink pad across a white sheet and then white embossed on top of that.  I think it worked out well!  Here's a close-up, hopefully showing the texture of the paste as well as the colors used ~

Supplies:
   MFT All Lined Up stencil
   E by E Mistletoe & Holly stamp/die (NBUS)

Thanks for popping in, and I hope to be around soon to see all YOUR amazing cards!

Christmas Greetings

I want to get this posted to Time Out #148 before my time runs out so I'll make this short, and hopefully sweet  :o)   A Christmas card in untraditional colors, because I really love the colors in the challenge and wanted to test the waters.  Here's the challenge photo

I drew my inspiration from the colors, and the wreath; here's my card ~

While I added some other colors, I tried to keep to the black, gray, red and white -- LOVE!  A little green, actually toned down with light gray, a little bright yellow, and gold speckles in the middle of the flowers, all added with love.  Most of the card speaks for itself so I'll let you get on with your visiting!  Thanks for stopping by, and have a GREAT week!

Hugs,

Fall Colors!

You know how you can start out making a card in one direction, only to get totally turned around and head in another?  Well that's what these are all about!  I started out working on the Twofer Challenge - Holiday Greenery and started my wild and crazy water coloring.   Then the Inspired by...Blankets challenge kept sneaking into my brain so I ended up getting totally sucked into those blanket colors!  Needless to say, I did not use the "twist" and opted for two different occasions, though they could both look fall-ish, they are different as you'll see with the inside sentiment but I do admit they do have a similar "feel" so I hope they're different enough.  Without further yapping, here's the first card, a Fall/Thanksgiving ~

Once again, not so great photos, but you'll get the idea (this is actually cream cs)!  The sentiment was stamped on a leftover, splish-splashy piece of water coloring in fall colors that I made for the next next card.  I embossed the background, cut the leaves and placed them amidst the wind, and mounted the sentiment.

And the second card, an Encouragement ~

Inside Sentiment ` To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under heaven.  Eccl 3:1'

I used the leaf dies still wired together and embossing the background, then placed the leaves cut from the water color panel onto some of the embossed areas.  The sentiment was heat embossed using liquid platinum ep.  And for the two together ~

Do you see the inspiration blankets now?  The colors are beautiful and inviting!  I'll be entering these at:

Supplies:
Both -    LF Stitched Leaves dies
Card 1 - LF Stitched Windy BG
                 PTI Autumn Hill
Card 2 - CB In Stitches, Autumn
                 PTI Beautiful Blessings

Here's hoping you have a wonderfully, warm and cozy day!

Snow(flakes) and Snow!

Hello!  I made a couple cards for Christmas Kickstart #23 Snow and hopefully I'll be able to sneak them in!  I was taking a break from Thanksgiving cards, and decided to make a couple for Christmas to break the brain fog.  Here's the snowflakes (not a great photo) ~

And a closer peak to see the shiny flakes from the silver ep and organza (sp?) ribbon ~

Then while I was at it, I made another card with snowflakes and snow ~

This one has the shiny snowflakes, as well, however it hosts a whole lotta bling from that silver glittery cs.  And another peek although this one was harder to capture ~

Supplies:
Card 1 -  Great Impressions Snowflakes
                   PTI Two Feet Deep

Card 2 - Great Impressions Snowflakes
PTI Two Feet Deep & dies
                  PTI In The Meadow die

   Christmas Kickstart Challenge

Well that's it for me today, and I'll be popping in your way to see a few of your cards!  Thanks for stopping by!

A Couple Randoms

I found with returning from vacation, is that I neither have the time nor energy!  A vacation from a vacation?  Yes please...  Life has been hectic but returning to a load of "must have" work is exhausting.

However I did get a couple of cards made for challenges, but then I realized that I'd rather mail one to a friend than enter it in a challenge.  Now that its in her hands, I'm free to post a non-challenge card  :o)  Here's the first of two  ~

ETA:   I will be entering this over at Addicted to CAS #172 Birthday

And a second card, that'll START my stash for Thanksgiving cards!

This card has a bit of a hidden aspect to it; can you see it?  Here's a close-up...

Sorry for the TERRIBLE shadowing at the bottom, but it was the only way I could get the lighter cream to show.  While I wanted the cream to be in the background, it's super hard to photograph!  A bit of playing around with Photoshop and I could make it show up but so did all the shadows!  Ugh...

It's a long weekend and I'm hoping to get some more cards made; however, being away from my craft room has meant that my creativity is STILL on vacation!  I will try and see if I can join back in to post more soon.  Thanks for stopping by, and have a fabulous weekend.  And THANK YOU to all the veterans who serve(d) and to make our nation a better place for us!

Hugs,
TK
