A Few for a Couple

Good evening, All!  I've got a few cards for a couple of challenges, but I'm going to apologize right now (photos are not working for me in the evening photo sessions).  I played in a Christmas challenge recently, and now I've got the bug -- or at least at the moment!  These first two cards will be entered at the Twofer Card Challenge #21 Sweets:

My common element is the sweet latte in the holiday cup.  The card on the left is a holiday card, and the cup on the left is well.... for encouragement, so it will be entered at Time Out #146 Encouragement.  Here's a closer look at both but check out that shine, one with gold ep and the other with pearl paste!

Then while I was on a roll, I made a 3rd card with similar ingredients, still using the holiday cup...

A holiday card and a shaker.  You can't really tell but the frame is actually a gold shimmer cs, glitter red Stickles for the berries and a mixture of glitters inside.

Supplies:
#1 - HA Coffee Cup Tags (NBUS, used in all 3 cards)
#2 - MFT Blueprints 27, SSS Gingham stencil, MFT Hug In A Mug
#3 - LI Stitched Rectangle die, MFT BP 27, MFT Hug In A Mug

This has been a photo-heavy post, but I wanted to get this posted and entered before I head out on vacation.  I'll be checking in with your blogs, but may not post since I won't have all of my supplies with me.  Thanks for stopping by, and hope your days are cozy, warm and cheerful!

Hugs,
TK

Kickstart with a Gathering

Howdy, Friends!  I decided I'd better get in gear with the Christmas cards, and so I recently joined in at The Christmas Kickstart Challenge.  It provided me with enough inspiration, that I thought I might as well do two cards since I'm a bit behind!  I came up with the designs, then it all came crashing down -- 3 movies and several hours later, I finally completed two cards but not the one that I originally had in mind!  Here's the first card for the challenge #21 "Woodland Creatures"...

Supplies:
LF - Stitched Windy BG (NBUS)
PTI - Little Bitty Birds (stamps & dies - NBUS)
   PS - Evansgon Birdhouse (NBUS)
MCS - Ornate Labels: Christmas (die)
TE - In & Out Christmas
And if you look really close, I used a woodgrain ef to ink woodgrain onto my fencing  :o)

Then along came my second card, with more realistic "woodland creatures", which are by the way  "gathering"...

Supplies:
LF - Upon A Star (NBUS)
Echo Park - Wise Men Still Seek Him

Gathering in awe and wonder of the season, the critters brought me to enter this second card at Inspired By... gather too.  I took a different direction than most, since my inspiration was the verb!  I will admit that I went back and added some shimmer mist to the night sky after photos were taken.  Here's close-ups of the two ~

And the challenges ~

Thanks for stopping by and letting me ramble.  I hope all is well in your neck of the woods, and everyone made it safely through the early snow seen by some.

Til next time!  Hugs,

TK

I Appreciate You!

That's how I feel about all my blogland friends, you support me endlessly and cheer me on when I need it most!  I Appreciate You!  Thank you!

This card will be going to CTS #342, and this one I'll actually enter!  Here's the great sketch, which I tipped sideways ~

I love it, here's my entry:

And a close up of the wee little acorn:

I love the pretty fall colors on this card, a beautiful pp from a large pack from ages ago.  They remind me of the crisp air and smell of grapes ripening this time of year around here.  As you drive in most directions from our home, there are many vineyards and I just love the smell as the final ripening happens!  I'm not really a drinker but I love the smell and the beauty.

Supplies:
   MFT - True Friend (NBUS)
CB - In Stitches:  Autumn (acorn image, also NBUS)
MFT - Beautiful Blessings (inside sentiment)

Thank you all for truly blessing my socks off!

Hugs,
TK

A Sketch and Two Cards

I wanted to make a couple "thinking of you" style cards, masculine and feminine, and thought that CTS #342 fit the bill.  I did take some "interpretation" liberties, but I think they should be fine.  I kept them quite simplistic so I wouldn't burden the masculine card.  Here's they are  ~

After my multitude of crafting failures this past weekend, I guess I was in need of some "basics".  I'm not actually going to enter this over at CTS (I'll have another one later that does enter), but I did use the sketch so I'll show it below...

Supplies - well this is an easy list  :o)
   MFT - Sending Prayers
RC - tags (forgot the name of it, sorry)

Thanks for popping in, and I really do appreciate all your love and support!
Hugs,
TK

Happy Birthday, Hedgie!

Fun, eventful weekend last weekend and two Birthdays this weekend but I've pre-posted this so you can all be impressed I'm on the ball!  JK but it really has been a busy couple weekends!

My girls had a hedgehog for a bit growing up, so it's only fitting that I make a card using one of the cute hedgie images I own.  This one was received, so it's OK to post and share with all of you!

This little cutie started out being for my step-dad but since I put rosy little cheeks on her, I decided she'd better go to my eldest daughter.  The coral cs underneath ended up being a perfect compliment to her cheeks, and the teal/mint scarf went perfectly with the pp -- I guess sometimes things just do fall into place, even for me!  Here's a close-up...

I actually really enjoy that coral paper, I hope you do too!  And have a terrific week!

Supplies:
   MFT Happy Hedgehogs  (NBUS)
   LF Hats Off To You
   PB Heartfelt Thanks
  SB Hemstitch Squares  (NBUS)
   MFT Blueprint 27 - tag

A Sketch and a Creature

I combined two challenges and came up with this card, simple but it says what it needs to.  I took the MFT Wednesday Sketch #457 and melded it with Addicted to CAS #169 - Creature.  I have to admit, while I got to play this weekend in the craft room, I wasn't really successful -- a LOT of mistakes, trash and frustration but I did come up with this ~

While my initial card was one layer, I put a HUGE inky fingerprint between the hedgie and the sentiment right at the end!   Arrrghhh!  So without having to scrap the whole thing, I carefully cut out the hedgie and his ring, then removed the lower sentiment and inky panel with zig zags.  They were then attached to a new card base -- while not one layer, it's as close as I could get without starting completely over and throwing more away!  And a close-up of Mr Hedgie ~

Supplies:
Clearly Besotted - Let's Roll (NBUS)
MFT - Spring Background (an oldie and this one is not very spring-ish)
   HA - Everday Sayings

Hope you had a great weekend, and that it was a little less stressful than mine!

Hugs,
TK

Sparkle, Shine & High/Low Inchies

Wow, isn't that a title?!  Haha - seriously though this card is ala Cat, for reminding me of inchies and her wonderful way of elevating them!

I needed a Birthday card so I found two old panels of faux mother of pearl, cut them down to inchies and adhered them to a panel, placing the greens flat and the blues with foam tape.  I then added an excess strip of the blue down the center.  I triple cut the sentiment, two of cardstock and the top layer from mirror tape adhered to cs and stuck them all together.

I do have to admit that I'm not the best at getting those little sentiments perfectly aligned, I actually find them quite difficult since they had been cut with the tape adhered already, making them stick to my fingertips and not where I wanted them.  Also my pics aren't the best as it's been overcast here lately, and no light box for me...  A close-up...

Thanks, Cat, for the stirring of the brain cells; and thanks to all of you for your support!  Hope you all had a wonderful weekend.

Supplies -
   SSS Happy Birthday Die
LF Upon A Star (inside sentiment - NBUS)

Courageous

Hello once again!  I'll be straight forward and get right to why I'm here.  Women fighting Breast Cancer, they are who's courageous!  I really wanted to play along for the fact that this is such a terrific reason to make a card -- to support those going through it and to declare them courageous in the face of something major!  Here's my entry ~

I can't tell you how many boo-boos I made along the way (crafting too late maybe, or possibly too early) but the picture I had in my head actually came to fruition finally!  I'm going to enter this at  Time Out #145 and use the twist.

ETA:

   AJVD Quilt Stitched BG coverplate
