Sympathy or Encouragement?

I know which card I'd rather make, but going through my stash, I knew I needed both cards so I took a jab at MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge #456.  Here's the inspiration...

And here's my first card...

And the inside...

Sorry for the wonky lighting, issues I have during the gray fall/winter days.  This second picture actually shows the truer color on the sentiment (and pink not white cs), where it looks almost like black ink on the front.  And here's the second card made with the same sketch, that I won't be sending to the challenge in a different color scheme and theme...

This one, I really love the colors IRL and the "different" stencil.  I ink blended on both, but used stamping on the sentiment plus the flowers on the second card.  They were quite fun.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope your weekend was awesome!  Our "camping" trip was quite cool, a bit of rain but we still had a great time!  We actually were blessed  to have our first long-haul visitors, who came all the way from Grand Junction, CO for the shin-dig!  What a blessing!  I'll be popping in soon but must run for now!

God bless & Hugs,

Chin Up!

A quick post, for a quick card.  I Zigged this during a camping trip this summer (I know, last one I promise), die cut it with a new die, then added my sentiment.  To make the hemstitch dots show up a bit more, I used a backing of green cs behind the water colored panel to match the base cs, and actually cut down my inside sentiment liner paper so the green cs shows through from the back fold on the lower portion of the card.  Here she is ~

The other issue I had was, that no matter how I tried, I kept getting smudges formed on the finishing sentiment that says "Buttercup".  They kept appearing every attempt of stamping inside the loopy letters and I could not make it work; it was almost as if the "Buttercup" portion was not etched or poured deep enough and the ink kept getting in the big loops.  Anybody else?  OK it's just me...  A thought just now... maybe it was the ink pad (too soft) so any little extra tapping put ink where I didn't want it?!?!   So another sentiment was used to finish the card.

And a close-up ~

Supplies:
Honey Bee - Chin Up, Buttercup (NBUS)
   MFT -Beautiful Blessings (sentiment inside)
   SB - Hemstitch Squares (NBUS)

I'll be scarce for a couple of days, we host an Annual Year End Campout in our pasture, well it's actually just acreage of grass that we mow so now "obstacles" to be found! Meals are divided so each family/group unit provides/cooks one meal for everyone, that way we ladies can relax for the rest of the weekend.  Hope to see you around soon, and have an awesome weekend!

Stylish Lovely Lady, who Loves her coffee!

Hello, Stamping Neighbors!  I feel like I don't live by anybody that shares my passion of cards, so all YOU must be my neighbors, right?!!!  It's so good to stop by your blogs, visit your beautiful creations and share a small piece of life with you -- I'm blessed!

I colored this lady earlier in the year while camping, but she just sat on my desk waiting to be made into a card and sent off to visit someone special.  Recently I had a day at work, and while it was chaotic for me, it was even morle-so for a co-worker.  I ended up helping her so she could keep her feet under her.  Then, on Friday she showed up with a specialty coffee as a token of appreciation.  Shazam!  My Lovely Lady had her target, so this will be handed to her tomorrow at work to show that her appreciation isn't unnoticed.  Here she is...

I cut around her with a new oval die, rounded the corners and set her upon a red card base.  Stylish, yes?  I love her bright red lips, matching hoops and skinny capris.  Then look at those heels, on a step stool no less so she can partake of her hot java.  Hope you enjoyed because as she's on her way to a couple of challenges,  Addicted to CAS #168: Style and Inspired By Challenge: L

Anniversary Emboss & Cut

Another weekend, another card for a recent event - Wishing Dtr #3 and SIL #3 a Happy Halfiversary!  Just honoring the day that they married in a traditional ceremony amongst family and friends.  This one's for them!

EZ peasy, cut & emboss all in one pass, pop up on card base, stamp and yes, it's that easy!  Very pretty, but quite easy.  I love the depth of the embossing on this folder, and also that it can be used vertically or horizontally, and that it allows a flat area perfect for stamping.  And a close up...

While it isn't quite their Halfiversary, today we're celebrating my daughter's Birthday, their Anniversary, and son-in-law's Birthday combined all together with a family get together.  So off to prepping for me!

Supplies:
SB - EMboss & Cut Flower Gard
   SnS - Anniversary Innies

Thank you for your sweet words, and uplifting joy you all bring!

Hugs,

Pink & Purple = Success; OLC = fail

I recently decided that instead of making a card right before a challenge is over, that I would attempt to make cards at the beginning and have plenty of time to post.  Well, the thought was good but what I did was obeyed part of the rules for the color part of the challenge but totally failed at the OL part of the challenge!  So needless to say, I have a card to post and be used later for... well... something!  Here she is ~

First I played splishy-splashy with my watercolor paper on three panels, one in purples, one in pinks, and one with both.  I used the "both" panel, but it down, then used it for my base element.  Then I cut two purple flowers, one pink flower, layered them all up and added a diamond gem in the center.  I die cut the diagonal strip for my sentiment but ended up liking the flowers mounted there so stamped the sentiment above.  Here's a close-up ~

There you have it -- my pink and purple success, but failure because I TOTALLY forgot about the OLC rule!  Oh well, this will still go somewhere local since it'd be difficult to mail.

ETA: (Thanks to Bobby for the invitation!)

Thanks for your visit and love,

TK

MFT Color #124

I found a color challenge that fit perfectly to my needs for an upcoming card, so I took that challenge and ran with it.  While my photo doesn't do the colors justice, I'm hoping that you can see the likeness, because honestly the colors are really close IRL.  Here is the challenge colors -

And here's my card -

A die cut, an ink blended background, double stamping & heat embossing (on card base and banner), spritzed with shimmer, and that's all I can say about that!   :o)   I am a little bummed the colors didn't show as they truly are, and the shimmer is hard to see, but if you enlarge the photo below, maybe you'll see the twinkly sky.

Supplies:
   MFT - Paris Skyline die
   PTI - Birthday Stylish Sentiments

As always, thank you from the bottom of my heart for the love you spread around here -- it means the world to me!

Hello, Friends!  Hope your weekend has been a wonderful one, swimming with joy!  Speaking of swimming...  I fell in love with this image, thanks to sweet Michele!  Here's my rendition

Isn't she just the sweetest?  Well I knew I needed her, and I knew she would be perfect to send love, kisses and birthday wishes!  The card will be in Dtr #2's hands by the time this posts, so I hope you all enjoy.  A little ink blending, stamping, fussy cutting and ta-da!  And a close-up of the bathing beauty...

   PB Good Wishes

Thanks for popping in and I hope the coming week brings many blessing.

Happy Bday, Co-worker!

A quick card to wish a co-worker a Happy Birthday, she'll receive this tomorrow but I feel safe posting today.  After making this card, I realized I think I may be stuck in a rut!  A color rut!  Again, the colors are similar to the previous two cards, but at least I changed the flowers, right?!?!  I'll have to pay more attention to how these cards will be posting....

I wanted to cut the diamond shape, and place it on my card vertically prior to realizing that the points would hang off on the sides!  I thought about letting them do so, but then realized it wouldn't fit in the envelope, so alas I had to do some surgery, then place a second layer to make it pop.  The die cut sentiment worked out perfectly to cover a blemish (yes, I smudged the ink again...).

Hope your week has been wonderful and you've managed to avoid the high heat and relax in your craft room!

Supplies:
   GinaK - Wreath template
   E by E - Everyday Doodles (NBUS)
SSS - Happy Birthday die (I believe NBUS)
   CP - Inks (thanks, Michele!)

Blessing to all,

TK

Enjoy The Journey

Hello, Sweet Friends!  I hope you've had a great holiday weekend, with blessings and food abounding!  I know I've had a busy one, but wonderful just the same.  Hubbs took me on a 2-day motorcycle trip, and while it was 95* by the time we pulled back into our shop, and relieved to be out of the heat, we had a great time.  I've made a few cards of late but just haven't had the time to post, and barely keeping up with others' beauties, I'm hoping to catch up again.   Here's to the first of mine for a co-worker moving on and choosing a new journey ~

Anything look familiar?  Well this was a snippet from a card I made for one of my daughters so the colors probably look familiar.   I wanted to change it up, so found the butterfly circle die to frame it up, cut the circle down, added a few of the butterfly "negatives" back onto the card, and a sentiment ~ voila!

I'll keep this short due to my time restraints but I'm so glad you popped in!  Thanks for being such great friends, and making me feel welcome to a awesome community!

Supplies:
   Sizzix - Butterfly Circle
   CAS-ual Fridays - Pretty Posies
Crafter's Companion - Seas The Day

Here's to a great week!
