Jinglin', Swingin' Snowman

Hello, Dear Friends!  Welcome!

I've returned today with fun little diddy, he's kinda tickled my fancy today -- I guess I need to smile a bit more lately.  I picked up this die last year just after Christmas and he's been sitting on my desk ever since.  I really need to get back into my Christmas card-making, so here's my first go in quite awhile ~

Excuse the photos --- they're not great...
I foiled the background with confetti, hoping it'd look a bit like snow.  He sure thinks it's snow!  After foiling the bg and sentiment while the Glimmer was hot, I die cut all the pieces, and layered them twice, then added WoS to his face, belly, arms and legs before adding in the colored pieces.
I actually was thinking ahead to cut everything on top of a dryer sheet, so when I removed the larger pieces, the small bits stayed in place which allowed me to color them with Copics.  I think cut all the outerwear out of glittery cs, blue and silver then glued everything together.  To hold the bits in place, I put small pieces of washi behind the body and head plus added dots of glue.  To finish him off, I colored his skates with a silver gel pen.

See those legs have moved?  Yep, they're the swingers!  The arms and legs come with little circles to put a small foam dot in the center, which allows the movement since one side of the dot sticks to the bg and the other sticks to the body.  The body was popped up with double foam strips to allow lots of swing - haha!  He makes me giggle.

This guy will head over to MFT Sketch Challenge (sorry, no MFT products today but your sketch was just perfect), Peace On Earth #44 (in the lower right, they're having fun checking out the tree and presents!), plus NBUS #52 for this fun guy's first appearance.

Supplies:
Splb:  Dancin Snowman (NBUS), Glimmer Holiday Sentiments 2, Glimmer Slimline Confetti bg
   PB:  Simple Stackers die

Thank you for the visit, and I hope to be back soon with another card or two that I was able to make this weekend.

Hugs,
TK

You're the Best, Honey Bee

Well hello there!  Welcome, and thank you for stopping by.

Today's post will be a quick one -- I made two cards today and here's the first ~

My co-work used to be a massage therapist and today she came to my rescue!  I have this pinched nerve, tight muscle, sciatica thing occasionally and I ended up going home from work early TWO days last week!  Today, I was still hurting so I texted her and she came to the rescue, with her table in hand right to my house -- this card's for her!

I stamped the left side of my base, added a strip of woodgrain to the right side, and popped up my images that were Copic colored.  Afterward, I decided to add the sweet little bee because -- well why wouldn't I?!  He looks right at home, doesn't he?

I added a small snippet of hand-cut vellum behind the wings, to add a little somethin' somethin'.  The little honey bee and the sentiment strips/dies are NBUS, so I think I'll send this over there for a go.

Supplies:
IO - Dotted Argyle bg stamp
HB - Sweet Sunflower, Honey Bee dies (NBUS)
EH - Positive Vibes sentiments (NBUS), Sentiment Strips dies (NBUS)

Hope you have a great week!

Hugs,
TK

To the Birthday Girls!

 Hello!
Has it been forever since I've been here?  It sure feels like it but I'm here, and I'm glad you're joining me today.

Today's cards feature a couple of recent Birthdays, but due to my excessive work schedule I could make but not post them, so we'll do that today!

My first card features a little sweetie offering a cupcake to the Birthday girl ~

She sits atop a word die, inked in ombre pink to match her dress.  The sentiment is finished with a stamp.  She was colored with Copics.

My second card started from a sketch using a grid, so that was my starting point, along with a couple colors from another recent challenge ~

The stitched lines were eye-balled for placement and embossed after die cutting the flower bases out and stamping the dots, a random collection of 3 separate sets!  The flowers were inlaid back in, the panel shortened before attaching to the base and stamping my sentiment.

Two fun cards for two fun gals!

Thank you for popping in and visiting!  Have a great finish to the weekend, and a superb week.

Hugs,
TK

Congratulatory Pastels

Sending a warm welcome to all of you!

I had a bit of time to make a couple of cards this past weekend, and so I'll get this one posted.  This one will visit JUGs #686 - Color Week:  Pastels and NBUS #52 for the first glimmer plate outing.  These colors are really soft, and my card is definitely a bit "girly" - lol.

I hot-foiled the Bougainvillea plate with Aura foil, it's really pretty IRL!  I liked it because it added a soft yellow-ish color, which fit perfectly with the pastels.  The panel was cut down with an arched, scalloped edge before adding to the base.  Afterwards, I foiled the congratulations sentiment in the same aura on a matching cardstock.

While the foiling really looks like a satin gold here, it is similar yet so different.  I really love this color of foil!  This card will be going to a celebratory dinner for my cousin's wedding.  They eloped to Venice, Italy to get married but we'll gather in a week or so for a dinner celebration.

Oh!  And I think I'll send this over to Triple B:  July -- even though my colors aren't red, white & blue!

Supplies:
PFS - Bougainvillea Print glimmer plate (NBUS) & stencils
MFT - Stitched Scalloped Edge & BP #27 for the banner
   Splb - Essential Glimmer Sentiments

I hope everyone had a safe and fun Fourth of July!  We watched our grandson in the local parade with his Marching Band, then a bbq later for those who could.  Take care and stay cool, we're hovering right below or at 100 degrees here!

Hugs,
TK

Truckin' For You

Hello, and Happy Fourth of July, for everyone who lives in the U.S.  And for those who don't?  Well I'm wishing you a Happy Fourth too!

Today's card is for a neighbor, whose Birthday is coming up this next weekend.   This card will be going to Color Hues #67 - Merlot & Navy, because they worked perfectly for the holiday, a masculine Birthday, and they're gorgeous!

I cut all the truck parts (the truck itself is pale blue) and assembled everything.  I then used the turnabout plaid stamp to stamp a background.  While the truck seemed to get lost in the bold background, I used piece of vellum to mute it and a black strip to ground the truck - bingo!  Then I decided to elevate the truck off the background a bit and addwith an action wobbler, adding fun and showcasing the truck a bit more!
I tried to add a video of the wobbler, but I guess I haven't "mastered" that yet - lol

Supplies:
   Splb:  Truckin' Thru The Seasons
   C&9th:  Christmas Plaid turnabout stamp

Thank you for the spending your time with me, and for your uplifting comments!
Stay safe and stay cool (temps are hovering in upper 90's to low 100's here).

Hugs,
TK

Thinking of You!

 Hello!

I wanted to start by saying that I've seen the cards by the "Group of 7" and they're awesome, but I didn't take the inspiration from them when I made this card.  This card was literally going to be my CAS - Thinking of You card, before Hubbs gave me the great idea for my final card over at JUGS Guest Designing.  Then I heard about a sweet friend, who really needed to hear these words and so off it went.
Today's card is that card ~

I started with my Monday Succulent, off the side of the cardstock and colored it with Copics.  It was again cut down for matting but when I went to attach it, I really liked it off the right side instead of the left, so I mounted it upside down!  I wanted the sentiment to be a little more prevalent, so I decided to oversize the banner, which has the hot foiled sentiment in bronze to match the terracotta pot.
A bit more of the shine ~

Supplies:
   EH - Monday Succulent
   PF Diagonal Stitched Rectangle
Splb - More Glimmer Sentiments, bronze foil
MFT - Blueprints 27 (with a little creative cutting)

Thank you for the visit, and the love that you leave --You make my heart happy!

Hugs,
TK
