Hello, Sweet Friend!

Hello again!  Another quick post because the challenge ends 10/24 - I'm hoping that means later in the day and NOT at the stroke of midnight tonight!  So onto the card... I really wanted to enter this challenge because I saw so many wonderful cards, so here's my "make" ~

Tone on tone, and stencil to boot!  I just got this sunflower stamp, I had really wanted one through the summer when I saw so many creations.  Finally it ended up in my cart, so I knew I had to use it.  I did an "artsy" (hah) ink blending for the upper portion of the card in  yellow; then went back in with amber and my stencil going diagonal, two ways.  I had my flower stamped and colored with Copics, fussy cut it out and went around it with black marker.  And then thinking of Darnell, or should I say Hammy, I went back and winked the center in gold.  It was then popped up and the sentiment stamped.  Here's another shot so hopefully you can see the WoS...

This will be going to:

Supplies:
HB - Sweet Sunflowers (NBUS, actually new to me)
MFT - All Lined Up stencil

Thanks for popping in and thanks for the love!
Hugs,
TK

Thinking of You

 Hello again!

I made a card for Time Out #172 Breast Cancer Awareness, so wanted to post before it's too late.  I seem to run just at the end of challenges, and it isn't because of lack of effort.  Most of my "creating" time is on weekends, so it seems like I'm always on a push to get cards posted (after my idea marinates for awhile), and this one is no different.  Onto the card then, shall we?

This sweet stamp set was gifted to me and I knew it was a timely blessings.  Then came the challenge over at Time Out, and I knew I had to play.  I have a few other stamp sets from CAS-ual, so I've combined a few.  I first stamped and heat embossed the silver trim piece; stamped the dragonfly and cut the outline die in vellum to place on top, popped it up on foam.  Once that was done, I needed to hide my glue strip (a small piece of  Sookwang, rolled like a tootsie roll on a non-stick mat), so I used the silver gems to cover it and enhance the body.  The sentiment was stamped and heat embossed as well.  Then I decided I needed more of the pink, so I used the same ink and colored my own strip to fit under the silver trim.  A close-up ~

This card is already on its way to a friend, going through this right now.  Thanks for blessing me with the stamp, Lisa!

Oh!  And what about NBUS #19 -- my new stamp/die set!  Man!  And another thought - Pixie's Snippets #389 (for the scrap strips I embossed and colored pink)!

Supplies:

CAS-Friday:  Everyday Dragonfly (NBUS), Tin Roof (the side strip), Pretty Posies (sentiment)

My heart and prayers are with anyone and everyone who has to deal with this personally, I can only imagine the intense emotions involved.

Hugs,

TK

Warm & Feathered Merry Christmas

Well I've finally made a Christmas card, aren't you proud?  LOL I started out the year making a few then quickly got lost and haven't made another since... well... let's just say I'm WAY behind!  I'm glad that you're here to witness this, I really need to get my caboose in gear!

I started out with another idea in mind and well, again my brain deviated along the way.  That's okay though, it's how my brain usually works!  I'll be sending this card to

CAS Christmas:  Christmas Birds ~

I cut my blue card with the die, stamped my little friend, Copic colored him and stamped him again, masked him off and then applied the snow through a stencil.  I then removed the mask and placed him just above the stamped sentiment.  Pretty quick and easy after I came up with the image and design.

Supplies:
MFT - Warm & Feathered Hugs, Wonky Stitched Rectangle die
LF - Joy To The Woods (sentiment )

Thank you for stopping by, and keep your heads up -- this year WILL end eventually!
Hugs,
TK

thankful

Hello again, Friends!  Another post for a couple more challenges.  This card using a past sketch that was fun to use, so I had to make another.  While this was originally meant to be a Thanksgiving card, it's already in the mail to a dear friend.

A simple hand-stamped panel, then split and popped up; a Copic-colored pumpkin, fussy-cut and attached, then the layered die cut and attached.  Layered you ask?  Yes, it's kind of subtle but the back layer of this die is actually a muted green vellum -- Love it!  It allowed for muting the stark black pattern of the paper.

This card will be going to #IB144 (pumpkins, colors, bold scripty sentiment, black graphics), MFTColor150  and NBUS.

Supplies:
   SSS - Thankful (NBUS)
   HB - Pumpkin Patch (NBUS)

Thanks for stopping by and having a peek. Have a happy day, Friends!

Hugs,
TK

Champagne Celebration

We meet again, and I'm happy you came by!  If this is the only "socialization" we get, then let's make the most of it!

I made a card for a couple of challenges - TO #171 and NBUS.  While it is a Birthday card, and I'm not sure if the recipient drinks champagne or not, this sure looks like a place to celebrate with champagne!  I mean really, shouldn't one celebrate the nightlife in a big city, enjoying the sunset?!

With a skyline like that, who wouldn't want to celebrate!  I love the cityscapes, and I HAD to have this one, but unfortunately it sat unused for far too long.  I'm still pretty new to inking sunsets or night skies, but I'm happy with this one.  For a bit of extra sparkle, I added the clear shimmer pen for stars and then quickly brushed the DOs with perfect pearls to add a bit more shimmer (actually vice versa or I would've smeared the stars).  The pearls appear to have stuck better on the left than the right, but alas I did shimmer the whole sky.

Does it look like a celebration to you?

Thanks again for stopping by and visiting, I enjoy the company!

Supplies:
   TE - Downtown Border (NBUS)
   CTMH - Birthday

Hugs and healthy wishes,
TK

Peace*Joy*Love

Hello!  I'm zipping in to post a card before I run out of time.  I've made a couple cards, but still hoping for more time this weekend though it's almost over!  I hope you're all enjoying your weekend.

I split the die cut panel to make the layout work, added a dark navy background, placed it upon the gorgeous gold paper and stamped a simple sentiment.  I wanted the sentiment to stay simple and let everything else speak up.  A close-up and maybe a hint of sparkle from the star stamped in Archival gold ~

This card will be entered FMS455 since I used their sketch, it was a fun one!  I used an NBUS die, it'll also head there -- I'm trying really hard to  use all my NBUS stuff but as soon as I use some, someone else entices me to buy more because of the beauties they make.  What a vicious cycle...   And one more challenge!  I used snippets for the white panel and the blue background, unfortunately I added to the pile by using a rectangle die to save a pretty sizeable piece of the gold shimmer paper since it was covered by the image panel.  So this will head to Pixie's Snippets.

Supplies:
   SSS - Evergreen Circle (NBUS)
   LI - Stitched Rectangle dies

That's it for me, please stay safe and have fun in your craft room!
Hugs,
TK
