Wish Big Birthday Greetings

Hello, Friends!  Sorry I've been MIA, but at least I got to see a few cards, make one, and now a quick post, so I'll get right to it...

A really quick, one layer card for a co-worker.  I wish the colors showed true, but I could not get them adjusted correctly for anything - oh well, you'll just have to use your beautiful imaginations!  The colors are tealish, bluish, and purplish... can you see it?  I carried the chevron bars to the inside, and did a bit of sponging there, as well.

I couldn't seem to fit the card into any current challenges, so here it is, all on its own!

Supplies:
Ink - Versamark, Versafine black, HA Tide Pool, Pool and Passionflower
Stamps - PTI Birthday Stylish Sentiments (the rest is inside)
Stencils - MFT Scattered Bars, SSS Circle Dots
   Clear EP

Well, short and sweet, but at least I got a post, right?  Hope to see you soon, and have a happy week!

Meet...

Well, life has taken me in a lot of different directions, and definitely gotten in the way lately but I wanted to explain.  Summers are ALWAYS my busiest season due to yard work, my part-time job AND work for a non-profit that I have worked with for 12 years now (Royal Family Kids Camp, go ahead and google it, it's a GREAT place to donate your time and money).  My work with them is confidential, but extremely personally rewarding and hopefully the kiddos are rewarded as well!  However, there are days that this "job" can be full-time.

In addition to that, I've been a bit side-tracked by a task that has taken 6 months, up to this point.  I am HOPEFULLY adopting a rescued boxer name Sophie today!  Hubbs and I will be taking off shortly to drive 4.5 hours to have a "meet and greet" at 5p.m. with her to make sure all goes well before bringing her home, another 4.5 hours!  So, without further ado...
What a doll! It isn't a good picture, but it's what I have for right now.

After we return late tonight/tomorrow, I have to do a few hours of work at my "pay job", then Hubbs, Sophie and I will be going camping.  So...I'm hoping to make it make it back into the craft room after that!  Hope your weekend is awesome!  If you're near me, be sure to stay cool as we jump from 75/80  degrees right into the 100's this weekend!

Congratulations, Jenna & Paul - CTD394, SSS Wednesday

A quick post for a busy weekend!  Attended a gorgeous wedding this evening and wanted to get the card posted, now that it's been given to the wonderful newlyweds.  So without further ado...

And another shot to show the shimmer in that "love"...

ETA:  This foiling  was actually an accident!  I die cut the word out of a toner paper, then decided to use opal foil, not considering that it was see-thru!  Well, I ended up liking the unexpected coloration that I got!  Go figure...  Another view to show the foiling and card in whole -

Supplies:
   Dies - SSS Single Roses
Stamps - Fiskers "Just Married", Essentials by Ellen "Bold Blooms" (inside & envelope)
Ink - Ranger Stormy Sky, Seedless Preserves and Peeled Paint
Misc. - DecoFoil Opal, iridescent sequins

Challenges:
  Simon Wednesday Challenge Blog
ETA2:  Barb invited me to play along at Addicted to CAS #89: Petals

Thanks for taking time out of your Memorial Day celebrations to visit!  Hope your weekend is/was a wonderful one!

In Memory of...

Yep, life has been hectic lately but I wanted to make a card for a friend, as her husband, a good friend of ours for years, has passed away unexpectedly a week ago.  It's always sad and disheartening when you lose someone.  Life goes on, hearts mend, but the holes can never be filled.  Our friend was, as Hubbs put it, "a real true person, and possibly the most interesting person you could meet".

I stamped and clear heat embossed the background, and ink blended in a circular fading pattern.  I then heat embossed the sentiment on silver vellum in silver ep and attached it with  rolled glue dots placed discreetly behind the words.  I then die cut the solid and lacey butterfly and glued them in place too.  Here's a close-upphoto showing a little shimmer...

I'm a little bummed, I just missed the CTD #383, but I will be linking up to:
   MFT Sketch Challenge #281
CAS Mix Up Challenge - May

Supplies:
Stamp - MFT Roses All Over BG; Hero Arts "Everday Sayings"; PTI Healing Sentiments (inside)
Dies - Simon Says Chrissy & Leanna Butterfly
Paper:  Neenah; The Paper Studio Silver translucent

Thank you all who come by, I know I haven't been very regular but I'm hoping to remedy that!
Can I hear you chanting "let's go, TK, let's go"?  Hopefully....  Hope you all have a wonderful week!

OCC Clear & Sheer 2.1 Bday Penguin

Wednesday's challenge was to create a card with vellum and a technique.

I chose to do a couple, I embossed the tree and Copic colored on the backside of the vellum.  Then die cut, colored and mounted two images and a banner on foam tape to the front of the vellum.  This was then mounted over a background with a printed pattern (small yellow flowers).  All the foam tape was hidden when mounted onto the background paper, and I used Multi Medium Matte to attach the vellum to the background behind the foam and the palm tree.

I'm also adding this to:
TimeOut #55 - Celebrate, with a twist of die cutting!

Supplies:
   Neenah CS 80#, 100#
Stamps - My Favorite Things Penguins In Paradise (NBUS); Altenew Birthday Greetings (NBUS)
Dies - My Favorite Things Wonky Stitches (NBUS); Lil Inkers Stitched Rectangles (NBUS); My        Craft Spot (closed)    - Banners Straight
Copics, Simon Says Stamp White ep, Paperbilities patterned paper

Stay tuned, two more days of class!  Thanks for taking your time to visit!
