Stenciling In A Birthday?

 Good day, Friends!

Did I say that right in the title?  Stencil?  Pencil?  Something like that... lol!  Today's card fits a few challenges, so this'll go to JUGS 782 - stencil, Inkspiration #344 - stencil/no twist, Color Throwdown Challenge #835 - turquoise, green, yellow and NBUS#75!  Whew!

At first, I knew I had some stencils that were NBUS, so I started sorting through those and found this one.  Then, when searching for color inspiration, I found this wonderful choice at CTD.  Now, how to use them?  Do orchids actually come in turquoise?  Not really, but I did research and found that they're either colored blue OR may be a rare orchid that is blue, meaning rarity, peace and hope -- PERFECT!  I stayed to the overall turquoise for my color, achieved by combing my green and a blue, keeping more blue to center to stay true to the "rare" orchid.  I tried a couple different yellows but when I put it all together, I wasn't really happy with the tone, so I opted for another layer of sentiment with a softer yellow.

After toning down the sentiment layer, it needed a bit more yellow so I added the sequins to add a little pizzazz.  I'm pretty happy with this and it only took me 3 tries!  Lol -- when you're not in your crafty zone much, one tends to get a bit rusty.... Must.Work.On.That.... soon!

Supplies:
WF - Layered Orchid stencil (NBUS)
    MFT - Elegant Rectangle die
Splb - A Little Message pp sentiment

That's it for this post.  Thank you for the visit, you are appreciated!

Hugs,
TK

This is so pretty, TK, and in my fave colors, too! I think in this year of purple and blue leaves, we are all embracing the fact that we are card artists and can make things whatever colors we want! Yay! But wouldn't it be cool if orchids came regularly in blue hues? Until then, we have your card to enjoy! Thank you for inspiring everyone to use their NBUS! Hugs, Darnell

I really like the turquoise orchids, TK! I think most flowers come in every color you could want. At least they do on Google, LOL! I think they turned out perky and pretty. Sometimes it takes a few tries to get to perfection!

It seems we saw turquoise orchids in the conservatory at Biltmore mansion in Asheville, NC! I'll bet I still have a photo of them on my phone, TK!
I love how these colors came together on your birthday card using this beautiful stencil and cannot wait to see how your creativity comes to fruition in retirement!

This is lovely, TK. Adding the sentiment in yellow along with the bling gave a little spark to the beautiful blue orchids. Thanks for sharing your card with us at Just Us Girls.
