Joy Wreath

Welcome, Friends and Visitors!

Today's card started with the Christmas greenery prompt over at Peace On Earth #94, and then I was further prompted by the photo montage.

I started by an NBUS wreath press plate and tried several different ways with it; however I just wasn't happy.  At that point, I zeroed in on the vintage-y look of the montage and had a light bulb moment.  At first, I inked the plate with Delicata gold.  While the effect was pretty, it just didn't show enough.  Then the plate was inked with PFS Doe ink to help it stand out a bit.  While it was pretty, I lost the gold shimmer so I reinked in Delicata.  Bingo!  It worked!  However, the camera just doesn't capture it enough, so you'll have to trust me ~

I used the doe ink one more time, inking all the edges to make it vintage-y.  I then used gold WoS for the poinsettia centers and small little stems, then clear for the poinsettia leaves and berries.  A few sequins and a shimmery red ribbon bow to finish this one off.

This will also go to NBUS #77 for the new, unused press plate.

Supplies:
Splb - Holiday Foliage Joy pp

Thank you for the visit, and I'm so happy to be back in my crafty space!
Hope you have a great week.

Buzzing with Happiness FMS #700 - Happy Birthday!

Welcome, Friends.
Yay!  Did I say I was excited to make it to the party?
I am.  What a feat, and Happy Birthday to FMS for every challenge it took to get here!
While I knew I wasn't even close to participating in the challenge from the beginning, I did surprise myself while checking back -- my first challenge was 248!  After starting my blog, I did not participate in any challenges for a while, only posting and hoping I didn't scare everyone away who tripped upon it.  I guess I didn't because I still have friends - lol!

Here's my card for the current sketch ~

While I strayed from the sketch a bit, I had fun!  To be honest, is the sketch an inspiration or should I have followed it closer?
I started with the gnomes and bees, coloring then cutting them.  I also wanted to use the postage dies so I figured out my placement and popped up the stamp dies, then glued down the gnomes and bees.  Hmm the bottom still looked bare, so I embossed it with a honeycomb die and popped up my sentiment.  Is the yellow overpowering?  Too much?  Lastly, I used Wink of Stella on all the wings.  None of these products had seen the light of day for a while.

Ok, then I second-guessed myself and decided I'd like to try a white sentiment strip.  Which do you prefer?

Do you have an idea for FMS #700?  Again, while I strayed a bit, I really like this card!  Who's it going to?  One never knows!

Supplies:
MFT Buzzing with Happiness stamps/dies, Peek A Boo Honeycomb die
   WF - Nesting Postage die

That's it for me, Peeps!  I hope you all have a marvelous weekend.  And if you're like up, under a heat warning of triple digits until mid-Wednesday, stay safe and cool!

To Let You Know...

Howdy!
I'm coming at you today with a quick post, I'm just so excited I got to my craft room!
The card will be visiting The Flower Challenge #105 - Add Embellishments ~

An NBUS press plate was used for foiling with champagne foil, then colored with Copics.  While I have the matching die, I decided to play with the octagon shape and cut it down with my trimmer so I could pop it up over the pierced background.  See those octagons back there?  I thought they played well with the wreath shape.  I added a small twine bow and a few sparkly, glitter drops and the pressed sentiment from another NBUS set.  Here's a close-up for the shine ~

Supplies:
PFS - Stitched Octagon cp, Floral Octagon pp (NBUS)
LDRS - Breezy Blossom pp (NBUS sentiment)
ETA:  NBUS #77

That's it for me today!  I hope you're having a fabulous weekend -- see you soon!

It Was Always You

 Hello and welcome!

Today's post will be a quick one, as I'm heading out the door shortly to celebrate our 38th Anniversay!
This card was made for.... well, you know who ~

Am I stuck on birds lately?  Well maybe, but that's only because I have several new packs in my mountain of products to be used!  I started with a new embossing folder, embossing the card front.  Then I foiled the new hex frame, with prismatic foil, onto some red cardstock and cut it down with my trimmer (I sure wish it had a die for all those wonderful angles!).  My new bird stamp was Copic colored, cut with its die, and popped up the card base.  I did contemplate a wobbler, but time was of the essence, plus I needed to stay somewhat serious, right?!  My new sentiment was "pressed" onto cotton card, and the "heart" added before attaching to the base.

What?  That heart looks a little wonky to you?  Well, think again, it's actually the worm die from the bird set!  haha - I thought it was quite appropriate.  I think Hubbs has warped my sense of humor, but then again it may have been wonky to begin with.

NBUS products

Birds, this one was obvious, right?!

   LDRS - Hex Frame pp

That's it for me, thanks for the quick visit and see you hopefully soon!

Still Younger

Hello... and yes, I went there!

I know, you've seen this guy before but I'm having such fun and I knew a certain someone would really appreciate the humor.  So, this card went to my dad, who's 88 years young today!  Happy Birthday!

My whacky chicken is at it again for another Birthday!  This time I blended a rectangular background, stamped, colored in Copics and fussy-cut my image.  Then the flames, spots on his hat, balloon and the platter were all treated with WoS.  Can't see it?

Supplies:
Unity - Still Peckin' Fabulous, background Basic stencils

Edited to add to Darnell's IDEA Calendar - Ink

And here's hoping that everyone has a Peckin' Fabulous day.

Hugs,
TK
