NBUS #9 - w/camo; Addicted to CAS #103 - WISH; SSS Wed: Anything Goes

This card is zipping it's way to it's recipient but I wanted to get it posted and linked up for these fun challenges!  My goal was to enter Darnell's fun challenge, because who can resist Darnell, AND what better way to use our NBUS?!  Along the way, it occurred to me that I could join in a couple extra challenges, and Darnell's okay with that!  So here goes...

I started with a heat embossed floral grouping, watercolored with distress inks, die cut my camouflaged sentiment word then popped it up with a few layers, and cut it into a stitched rectangle.  It was then mounted on another stitched rectangle, sentiment added  and a plus a couple outline floral images to the inside.

I'm entering these at:
   NBUS #9
   Addicted to CAS #103: Wish
   Simon Says Wednesday:  Anything Goes

Supplies:
   WPlus9 - Doodle Buds (NBUS)
SSS Sending & Wishing (NBUS die)
PTI Inside & Out Well Wishes
   LI Stitched Rectangles
   VersaMark, EP, Ranger DIs

Thanks for popping in and taking a look-see!  I hope to see you in these challenges too!

Hugs,
TK

CAS Watercolour - January 2017: Snowflake

Once again, I have a couple of cards to send over to the CAS Watercolour challenge and join in the festivities.  A bonus?  I've actually amassed (well amassed might be an overstatement) a couple cards for next Christmas!  Now I'm not one to plan or even start a year ahead, but the challenge seemed to lend itself to it so I took advantage!

Card #1:
   Watercolour (distress inks)
Snowflake stamp:  Great Impressions Snowflakes (NBUS)
Perfect Pearls, generously spritzed all over

Card #2:
Watercolour (Distress ink & Perfect Pearls, mixed)
Snowflake Stamp:  PTI Take 3: Winter (NBUS)

Now you might be wondering where the snowflakes are (no, not the little ones) but they're there.  They're kinda "artsy", so I'll give you a little closer look...  The little ends almost remind me of the little "bleeding hearts" flowers!

See 'em a little better now?  They're kinda peeking out of little frames, with some texture to boot so I wanted to make sure you could verify their very existence!

Well that's it for me today!  Whew!  Again, the feast or famine thing but at least I'm still creating, right?  These cards will go to:

Edited to Add:  I guess I've learned another valuable lesson!  Today I learned that you must use different blog posts to link up additional cards to the same challenge!  I guess it doesn't really surprise me, but I posted my cards in one post, thinking I was saving myself some time.  So, now the first was linked and the second is strictly for viewing   :o)
Wow!  Thanks to Cat Craig, she helped me link up my second card...

Hope your week is an awesome one with cardmaking the goal!

Hugs,

CAS MixUp - January 2017

A couple cards to join in the fun over at CAS MixUp card challenge.  I made two so wanted to post them together.  I tried a "new to me" technique called Shaving Cream technique.  While it was quite messy, I did have the optional bonus of having my craft room smell like a freshly shaved face for about 3 days - LOL!  It was fun and I made quite a few panels in different colors; however both these cards are with the same colored panels.

The first card up:
Shave Cream technique (liquid ink refills)
   Die cutting and Inlaid dies
   Stamping, Embossing with powder

Second card:
Shave Cream technique (liquid ink refills)
   Die cutting
Dry embossing  (LF Stitched Borders "NBUS")
   Stamping  (PTI Stylish Sentiments:  Birthday)

These cards will both go to:

I've also just noticed that my card is distinctly similar to Loll's!  Yikes! She's the Master!  I will say there was no intention of this, in fact I usually do not look at the "examples" until after so as not to be swayed!  I would say "great minds think alike" but clearly a Master is the best!
Wow, Thanks to Cat Craig, I've learned something else!  She helped me link both cards...

Hope you enjoyed your visit, and please come back again soon!  Your visits and comments mean the world to me!

Hugs,

NBUS #8 - Week One: Pencils on Kraft

Hello, Peeps!  Long time no see, but it isn't because I wasn't thinking or visiting as I could  :o)

Well I'm just under the deadline for Week One but I wanted to participate with Darnell's NBUS Challenge, so here it goes!  I stamped with an NBUS set, then bravely (well there was/is a bit of fear) colored with my NBUS PrismaColors!  Here she be...

Well, so obviously my coloring with PrismaColors needs practice but I like it!  I stamped, colored and blended with gamsol, then added some hand-drawn grass to ground everything.  This card will be sent to a friend who had an unfortunate fall in our snow/freezing rain-filled month and broke his neck.  I hope it brings a smile...

Thanks for stopping by!  I'm so happy you saved me a quick minute of your day, and hope to see you again.  Thank you!  Truly!

Hugs,
TK

Comfy Pajamas

Well THIS is a sentiment I can totally relate to!  I LOVE to be comfy in my jammies!  So, totally inspired by the sentiment, I created this card.

A masculine card, generally harder for me to create, this one came pretty easy.  I started with the "quilted" impressed blue background to go along with the jammies, layered up on kraft with a pop of white for a good contrast.  The denim-look quilt called for denim blue ink for the sentiment.  Here's a close-up:

Hmmm... all this quilting and now my jammies are calling!  (those of you who know me can totally get this!)  Thanks for stopping by and spending a minute or two of your weekend!  Blessings and warm wishes to all of you wonderful bloggie friends and visitors!

Hugs,
TK

New Home

Wow! It feels like I've been gone forever.  And while I've made a couple of cards, I've been struggling and thrown many attempts away.  So finally, here I am with a card....

Congratulations on your new home!  For the life of me, I couldn't get this particular card to look the way I saw it in my head.  I couldn't get it grounded the way I wanted, the colors just weren't what I wanted, on and on.  That said, here it is...

An ink blended background, a bit of splattering, a couple dies for the homes and trees, and a free-handed "snowy hill" spritzed with Shimmer Mist.  I took a close-up to show the shimmer, but alas it doesn't show as well as I'd hoped...

Well, we've had A LOT of snow, quite a bit more than usual and A LOT of cold (now in the teens to single digits) and gray skies.  While I really enjoy the snow (and yes I've shoveled a few times), I could really do without the gray!  Gray skies make it hard to be joyous, make it hard to photograph pictures, and generally unwanted in my book.  I do hope that all of you are fairing well though, staying warm, and enjoying your days!  And THANK YOU for popping in!

Hugs,
TK
