The Edge of Bethlehem

 Good Day!
(actually I'm talking myself into that!)

My day was rough, for a number of reasons, but I have a chance to post a couple of cards, so it'll end on a better note - hallelujah!

I used an NBUS edger die, purchased just a couple months ago, and a couple different Nativity sets that were first used last year and here's what I came up with ~

The new Bethlehem edger die, popped up over the nativity scene.  I really wanted to use certain color combos, which aren't typical nativity colors but I think they worked.  The nativity was placed over silver glitter card, as was the Bethlehem cut out of it too.

I was hoping to get a glimmer of that silver but it eludes me...

This is another nativity, in blue and gold!  I also used a sub-sentiment on this one.  Hubbs decided to count all the layers, and was totally amazed that it is 8-layers thick!  Yes, I believe it'll be hand-delivered!

The silver above may have eluded me, but the gold shined bright!

Supplies:
PB - Bethlehem Edger die (NBUS)
Splb - Rejoice Nativity die (1st card), Nativity Layered die

Thank you for taking time from your day for the visit and any kind words left behind.  I'm off to have a relaxing end to my day, and I hope you have a fabulous one!

Thanks for being You

 Welcome, Friends!

Today I've got a card for Color Hues #118 -- I mean, who can withstand a color combo like that?  Smokey blue and Sage green -- I just can't say enough.  The DT cards were fantastic, plus the cards in the gallery will be just as great.   So here's my contribution ~

An embossed panel, a label to place the pretty stem and flowers upon, white hot foiling on an ink blended scrap (same blue) -- pretty easy with colors like those!

You may have noticed that I also used the stencil and used a silver pen through it for the flower center, as random as they were -- it just adds a little interest, yes?

Two colors -- you betcha!  Shading the same color on multiple layers added all the depth I needed.  And I used my CP inks to blend!
LOVE THIS COLOR COMBO!
Enough said, except that I'm so glad I had time to play!

Supplies:
Alt - Hills Blossom stencil & dies, Nesting Slim Label dies, Organic Linen e/f
Splb - A Little Message hfp

Thanks for the visit and have a great hump day!

Dies, Colors, A Sketch & NBUS

Welcome, welcome!

I finally made it back into my craft room, so I took advantage of the time and made a card for 4 challenges!   While my thoughts came quickly, it took me a bit to get them organized into the actual card.  Here's today's card ~

While the colors (orange and green) aren't a true representation (yep, had some struggles), the colors are actually deeper and a touch of light brown on the flower center, but you get the idea.

I cut the NBUS Coneflower dies from white cardstock, ink blended several layers with depth, plus blending on the leaves.  I love these dies, the embossing is fantastic!  Then, a VERY old doily die came to mind to use for the circle element from the sketch -- I actually had one cut already in the pocket, cool!  I popped up some edges of the leaves, curled a few petals and adhered everything down.  The sentiment was then pressed, die cut and added to the card.  Hmmm, a little plain -- so I added the debossing, three lines on two of the edges -- perfect!

Supplies:
   HB - Coneflower dies (NBUS)
   MFT - Scalloped Doily die
Splb - A Little Message pp sentiment

This'll be going to JUGs #791 - Dies/Anything Goes; Color Hues #117 - Orange & Green; The Flower Challenge #106 - sketch and NBUS #78

Thanks for the visit!  Have a GREAT remainder of the week.  I hope it's cooling in your neck of the woods, we're getting a bit of reprieve here, we even had a few thunderstorms and showers last night.

Two for the Nativity

Welcome!

Today's cards come from my need to still catch up on my Christmas stash, but also to use my NBUS Christmas bin!  Yep, I have two separate bins - oy!  While I usually try to make my cards unique, I've decided that with the goal off my need, I'm going to at least try to make two cards from each set that I break out of the NBUS jail, so here it goes ~

I'm sorry I can't give credit, but one of you incredible cardmakers recently enabled me to buy this die, and honestly, I'm so glad you did!  I love everything nativity and so this was an easy one.  I cut the die in two colors, blue foil and glitter cs from PFS.  I then swapped the bits and thus it became two cards!  This first card had a dome placed behind and a foiled sentiment popped up.  This one is Hubbs' favorite.

This second card was placed on a kraft background and a double layered, foiled sentiment.  This one is my favorite, though it doesn't have the "pop" that the first does.  Not really unique from the first, as it was "after" that I came up with a whole lot more ideas...
Do you have a favorite?

Supplies:
   MB - Nativitgy Drop
Card 1 - WF Nested Dome die; PFS Magical Holiday pp
Card 2 - Splb Holiday Sentiments 2 hfp

I'll be sending one of these to Peace On Earth #94 (the church in the upper left, in honor of the nativity), NBUS #78 and JUGs #791 Anything Goes - Dies

Thanks for the visit and have a blessed day!
