On Point Slimline Birthday

Hello!

Through sleet or snow, rain or shine... ok so it's just COVID or ash!  Things have cleared up here, as far as the ash goes but COVID rages on.  Anyway, on to better and happier, right?!

I had some crafty time this weekend though I wasn't very productive, something about that mojo and COVID not getting along, at least in my little world.  I do have a card that I'm happy with, so I'll be sending it to a couple of challenges.   I made my first slimline!  Thanks to Verna's prodding and then a couple things I "had to get" once I saw Rosemary use them, here's my card ~

I used the colors at IB - Fall Colors and of course this is the first outing of my slimline background and lattice die so it'll head to the NBUS challenge as well.  While my colors aren't perfect to the color challenge, I guess they'll have to decide if it's close enough...

Supplies:
AJVD - Slimline Essentials, Slimline Stitched Plaid CP
   MFT - Let's Stick Together

I hope you are all doing well, and remaining vigilant and safe!

Hugs,

Happy Filigree Birthday

Hello!  I'm popping in quickly with a card.  I used the colors from the Flower challenge, hoping to make a card with what seemed to be glorious colors -- love them, don't you?  Well except that I under-estimated my ability to make this into a "flower" card - lol.  I ended up partially stamping a flower in the squirrel's hand but that didn't make it a focal point.  Scratch.  Start again, and just decide to use the wonderful colors!  So while I can't put this into their gallery, I do enjoy the card ~

I used a soft pink, but I believe it works well with the kraft.  And what about that glorious squirrel?!  Love him!  He reminds me of the Fall.

Supplies:
SSS Filigree Squirrel (NBUS, since it's new to me)

(Sorry, Darnell, I couldn't get new blogger to accept the new NBUS image!)

Thank you all for stopping by, and taking a gander...  I'm not getting much time in my craft room but I will stop in when I can.

Hugs to all, stay safe & healthy!

Birthday AI Bubbles

Good morning, Friends!  I hope all is well, the COVID and fires have stayed away, and if you've been unfortunate enough to be in the "smoke zone", I pray that it has all cleared.

I come with another card from my playing with AIs.  While I wasn't super successful, I did make a panel that was fun and good.  From it, I was able to cut a couple rectangles and put this card together ~

I used a sketch from days gone by, but when you like something, sometimes you just gotta hang on - lol!  After cutting the rectangles, I cut the Happy banner and then stamped the "birthday"  on a handmade banner and placed it just below.  CAS and straight to the point.  And a close-up ~

This went to a friend, and I hope she's gotten it!  If not, it's on the way!  Thanks for stopping  by.

Supplies:
PTI One Liner - Happy die, St. Sentiments Birthday

Birch Tree Collage(s)

Well, hello, we meet again!  These days, that My Friends, is particularly wonderful!  A lot going on around here as in others parts I'm sure, but I just know that we're still blessed through it all.

I have a couple cards for you today, to send off to a couple-a challenges.  I've  been wanting to use this die for awhile, and just hadn't come up with a good idea.  So no, I've challenged myself to not one but two cards while I had it out.   As it turns out, I'm kinda liking both - lol -- you know that doesn't always happen, right?!  Both cards go to the Twofer Challenge: Trees and one to the NBUS challenge #18

My first card is a masculine Birthday, and here's its photo ~

This card was originally intended to go to Loll's CAS Mix Up challenge but the background just didn't work out as I had hoped.  I spritzed the cardstock, sprinkled on some Ost. Blue Brushos and they just didn't move like I'd hoped.  So I loaded up a brush with more water and intended to brush it all out, hoping for an ombre dark sky -- nope!  But I do like the sky.  In the close-up, you can see a few of the remaining Brusho flecks, plus I added some clear sparkle pen "stars" ~

So..... then what to do for a "twofer" with such a distinct die?  I decided to center it off the side, letting the tree remain the focal point.  I then used 3 colors of DI's to blend a sky on a panel behind it.  While this seemed a great idea, the card itself seemed quite calming so it became my "Sympathy" card ~

Lots of white space on this one, Folks.  While I actually am not in need of a Sympathy card (that's a blessing), I'm glad that I have one in my stash since it always seems so much harder to make one when you need it.

Thank you for stopping by for a visit, I appreciate them.  I also appreciate all the workers who are dealing with the devastating fires, and the pandemic workers too.

Supplies:
SSS Birch Tree Collage (for both cards)
#1 - PF Diagonal Stitched Rectangle die
          Alt Birthday Greetings
   #2 - MFT Deepest Sympathy

Hugs and best wishes,
TK

Strike Up the Band Birthday

Hello!  I've had a  bit of time in my craft room, but not a whole lotta mojo!  I do have a card today for you, wishing my youngest daughter Happy 30th Birthday.  Here's what I've come up with ~

A little backstory... she was a "quint" player (set of 5 drums) in her high school marching band.  I've made this card in remembrance of those times.  It was always so fun to get to go see our daughters march and compete.  And a close up ~

Now while that border cardstock looks orangish, it's actually red.  I couldn't get it adjusted in the photo editor without everything else going blue, so sorry about the incorrect colors, not that I guess you'd know - lol.  I also did a "halo" around the mice to set them off a bit (ala Kathy Racoosin), any thoughts?  I also lightly inked the clouds and popped the larger one up.

Well it's been a good holiday weekend, one I desperately needed.  I hope it's been as wonderful to all you, with  hopes for a terrific week ahead!

Supplies:
MFT - Strike Up the Band
PF - Diag. Stitched Rectangle die
   PTI - Cloud die

Hugs to all,
TK

Celebrate!

Hello, Friend!  So glad you stopped by and I apologize for being MIA, nothing that I wish to "talk about" but it threw me for a loop.  I'm also still having problems getting the comment e-mails too, so sorry if it seems I haven't been responding to your sweet comments.  I always appreciate them, and you, of course!

I have a card today, a succulent Birthday card for a co-worker.  To date, this is my favorite one colored with Zigs, maybe I'm finally figuring them out a bit - lol.

I used several more colors than are shown above but I think I used a tan, a red, a brown, and 3-4 greens.  I did have success blending a red and brown to obtain my terra cotta pot, so hat made me all kinds of happy  :o)

And a close-up ~

This'll go to Time Out #169 Season -

Supplies:

   E by E - Mondo Succulent Pot

   MFT - Stitched Scalloped Edge

   CTMH - Birthday (Art Philosophy)

Well that's it for me, Folks!  Hope you have a wonderful weekend.

Hugs,

TK
