Happy Birthday, Inspired style

Hello again!  It was a good day here today, and hopes of steam cleaning my carpets tomorrow, but I thought I'd throw in a quick post, sending a card over to Inspired By...sitting pretty  Here's their inspiration ~

I liked the soft colors, but needed to play more with purples because I made a couple cards for my mom's 80th Birthday tomorrow.  Since we can't celebrate together, I will be delivering a couple of meals, maybe some coffee, and driving by with the family (in separate vehicles) to drop by gifts and cards.  So here's card #1 ~

I used the layout (tipped sideways) and placed my sentiment in a different location.  The flowers were popped up this time, leaving the sentiment flat to the inked ef background.

For her second card, I used the same flowers, the same layout, but used a tag on the design instead.  Hindsight, because of the way the flowers were stamped, I should have tilted the tag to the right... doh!  Anyway, she's my mom and she'll love it as if it was the first one I'd ever made her  :o)

Gotta slide this into the challenge, so a quick thank you for stopping by - goodbye!

Card #1
   CB - Distressed Stipes
   Alt - Whimsy Flowers
   E by E - Succulent Sentiments

Card #2
   MFT - Linen bg
   RC - Stitched Tag (NBUS)
   Alt - Whimsy Flowers
   PTI - Butterfly Kisses

Hugs,
TK

Today Is...

...a GREAT day to send a card to a couple of challenges!  Hello, and welcome!.  We've all made it past the weirdest Memorial Day ever, and now back into our "new norm" -- woohoo, I guess!

This content cutie bear will head to CTS373 and TO #162 - "Free".

This was a recent purchase, and he's as cute as a bear can be.  Looking at it now, it appears that the leaves in his basket are uncolored but are in fact a medium green - weird!  I didn't notice that during the editing process, so hopefully they'll show once it's posted.  Here's a peak at the inside ~

This is a motto that we all need to keep, considering the current situation we're under.  Life is good, we just have to rejoice in the good parts and anticipate the future to come.  I do hope everyone is staying safe and out of harm's way.  Happy day to all of you!

Supplies:
WF - Happy Day (also NBUS, but it is new...)

Thank you for the sweet visit, and generous comments!

Sunshine & Happy Memorial Day

Happy Memorial Day, Everyone!
To those who've served our country, protected our freedoms, and kept us safe,  I am immensely thankful.  While there's no big celebrations this year, we'll be celebrating in our hearts.

I have a card to share that will be visiting a couple of challenges (CTD594 FMS436)  that I made last night.  While it's colors aren't unusual for me, the tones are -- it's good to stretch yourself, right?

I don't typically use the deeper tones of yellows, but when I saw the inspiration board, I definitely saw the golden honey yellows (or maybe it was my screen).  Then it was decided to go way out and make a flower card with non-traditional colors, thus the gray leaves.  In the end, I kind of like it!
Here's my inspiration (click the image to see the link) ~

I'll also be sending this over to Darnell's NBUS challenge, since this is the first outing for this stamp set ~

Supplies:
   Alt - Basic Blooms
   LI - Stitched Rectangle
Other - Copics and Zing ep

Thank you for spending a moment of your holiday with me!  Have fun, but stay safe!

A Smile, with a Boom

Hello again, long time no see!  Well... that'd be my fault, I haven't been around for awhile except to peek at everyone else's beautiful creations.   I hope everyone is doing well, staying busy and spirits up.  I'm here today to send a couple cards over to Twofer challenge.

My first card is conventional with a bit of stamping and cutting ~

While I haven't used this PTI set very much, I do love the funkiness of it plus the added texture that's built right into the stamps -- go ahead, zoom in.  I made the whole panel to place on the card front, but decided to cut it down and I think the sentiment fit better.

And for my second card, I ink blended, stamped and embossed, then added some splatters (ok, Bobby, I tried again) but I went unconventional with the "flower" ~

I used the inside (stamen) for my fireworks!  Unfortunately, I think my splatters went polar opposite, from blotches to almost non-existent but I'm trying, Friends!  Here's the cards together ~

Supplies:
   Card #1
     PTI Funky Flowers
     LI Darling Diamonds (sentiment)
     SB A2 Scalloped Border 1
   Card #2
     PTI Funky Flowers
     MFT Cute Chemists (sentiment)

Thank you for popping in, I enjoy your visits.  Stay well, Friends!

Hugs,
TK

Modern Succulents

Hello again!  Hope everyone is having a splendid day, and remembering "this will end soon..."!   Maybe not soon enough, but we will be looking back at it one day.

Anyway, I've come with a couple of cards today to share, and send to a couple of different challenges.  The challenges were combined, but I will split them and send one in each direction.  Have I lost you yet?  Good!  Let's get onto the cards ~

This one will be shared at CTS #371, where they have a splendid sketch for us...

Pretty fun, huh?  I love this sketch, I can't exactly pinpoint it but it just warms my heart.  I've been wanting to play with this NBUS  stamp set, and so when I pulled it out, I knew it would work perfectly with this sketch even though the image is small.  And since this an NBUS set, I guess I'll be entering this over there too!

My second card uses the same sketch, the same color scheme and the same stamp set but everything is just changed up a bit, including the theme.  This card will go to The Flower Challenge - Monochrome ~

Thank you for dropping in, and have a fabulous day!

Thanks - Masculine?

Hope things are well, and so are you!  Things are still crazy in this world, but at least we have each other and our craft -- for that I'm thankful because it gives us some sanity.

I have been wanting to make more Thank You cards to have on hand,  but I wanted to use this NBUS stamp set.  While I love it, it's been a challenge for me to pull it off.  I started with it on last card but ended up scrapping it to go in another "simpler" direction.  Then I saw a couple challenges and decided to try again, so here it is but you'll have to judge the masculinity of it ~

I think it worked well and I'm glad to have a TY card too!  A little close-up of that golden shine ~

These will be entered at FMS #434 and CTD #592 (LoVe these colors).

Supplies:
   PTI - Round Repeats (NBUS)
   PTI - Thanks All Ways'
   EbyE - Hex Frames

Thank you for popping in and visiting for a bit.  Stay safe!

Praying for You

Hello!  I wanted to pop in with a quick post, a card necessary for a sweet neighbor who's undergone surgery and now facing chemo.  I have to be honest, I made the card and then looked at the challenges to see if it'd fit any, as I didn't want them to change what I had in mind for her card.  My picture lighting could've been better...  Here's my card ~

I blended DOX in Spun Sugar, Picked Raspberry and Wilted Violet, my first in using DOX.  I wasn't sure I'd do well so I used a small piece of cardstock, but ended up liking it.  Then stamped and heat embossed the image; while also heat embossing the sentiment on vellum.   Before attaching, anything I spritzed it with Shimmer Mist.   I attached the sentiment and then attached the small panel to the base and added a few sequins.   Here's a close-up, hopefully showing the shimmer ~

I will be entering this over at CTD #591 (since my colors matched) and NBUS #14 because the image is NBUS, although new to me  :o)
