A Peach of a Day!

Hello again!  I'll try to contain my excitement, but not only did I get a post out yesterday, but now I'm preparing another one!  On top of that... I created these cards AND  I making it just in the nick of time for a couple more challenges!  So here's to my peach of a day, hope yours was and is, too  :o)   Ok, enough of the goofy, onto the cards ~

This is my first attempt at no-line water coloring, and totally not successful!  My lines did not diminish into puddles of beautiful color nor blend out well at all.  Instead I had to pick up more color with a brush and add it in, leaving these peaches looking almost like lemons.  I used water color paper and Ranger inks, but I need ideas, Ladies, you are all so wonderful and I'm still a learnin'.  Needless to say, I do like the card.  I used the sketch at FMS #423, and I used my only stamp set containing a piece of fruit that I could find, totally amazing if you ever saw my stash   ;0)

My second card came from the beautiful color choices at  CTD #581 (gray, lime green, fuschia and purple), all I had to do was arrange them a bit (similar to the challenge image actually) and stamp the layers.  Once I was done, a sentiment kept coming to mind and OF COURSE I didn't have one in my stash, so upstairs to my desktop I had to run to print out my own sentiment to finish the outside, quite CAS.

I must admit I struggled with this one... I know, I know CAS but I must be OCD because I've noticed that I struggle with the "artsy looseness" of some stamp sets and I ended up "practice" stamping this about a dozen times trying to figure out how to get the perfect placement without going outside the lines -- just sayin', it can't be done!  Man I'm a dork... but I guess it's had me laughing at my own weirdness for a few hours.  On another note, that bottom peach is gray!  I realize it totally looks tan but it is MFT Hybrid Cement Gray, I promise, all my other grays have a bluish tint.

Ahhh, yes!  And because I wanted to join in over at Twofer #24, that's how all this peachy-ness came about in the first place!  I have to admit, I love the lemons and limes, and a special tugging from the beautiful berries I've seen, but alas I have a peach!  And after these two cards, well I've had a peachy day.  Here's my two cards together (again looking squarish to me, any advice with PS Elements?) ~

Here's all the challenges they'll be heading off to ~

A Sketch, Confetti and Leaves

Hello, Friends!  Posting here from my PC so praying all goes well.  I hope all has been great for you, sunny skies and wide smiles.

This post used a sketch, which has since passed, because I couldn't post for a bit.  You see, this one's for Daughter (Dtr) #2 who's Birthday is tomorrow!  We'll be celebrating and enjoying the company of my girls, son-in-laws and grandson.  But because I used the sketch over at CTS #359 Retro, I wanted to show you the sketch anyway.  I didn't participate in the original sketch either but had fun with it the second time around!

In addition to the sketch above, I used inspiration from TO #155 (I dialed in on "confetti") and TFC #41 (add leaves).  Here she is in all her colorful glory ~

Okay first a confession again!  While I love the card, my abilities with PS Elements (also a newer version) under the guidance of Windows 10 has suffered...  this again, is not a square card, nor did it look square while I was editing it!  It has to be a change somehow, maybe in the ratio?, and I haven't gotten focused in on what I'm doing YET.  All that aside, I think you can see the sketch, the confetti and my leaves -- success in my book!  See my white eraser, Michele?  I have successfully learned the easiest way to get my stamps ready for ink - yay - and thank you.

My card will be posted at:

Supplies:
   C&9th - Bitty Burst Turnabout/template
   MFT - Fold Up Tag
CB - Mini Floral Collage (NBUS)
AE - Loads of Wishes (NBUS)
PTI - Turning a New Leaf die

That's it for me, Folks, but my wish is that everyone has a fantastic weekend
with tons of restoration and relaxation!

Amazing

Hello!  Sorry I haven't been around much, but I won't bore you with all the details, TOO much has literally been going on.  Then, a 3-day weekend to look forward to and.... shazam! my laptop takes a dive!  That wouldn't be too bad except it's what I use for all my photo editing, posting, etc.  I think I've gotten everything working again, but a precious weekend lost.  So... onto the card that you're actually here for  :o)

This one is quite CAS, I used a sketch at FMS for it but the challenge is over so I'll "free post" it - haha!  It's an Encouragement card, I suppose.   Now that I look at the photo, it appears to be a square card, odd but I assure you it's rectangle, just a weird angle.

I used a snipped of water colored embossing folder I've had for ages, I actuallalso unused on my desk so I rounded that up and layered it, and then I cut and layered that wonderful sentiment.  Somewhere in my mess is the teeny, tiny little dot for the "i" but I wanted something larger so I let it wander to parts unknown, thus the pearl was added instead.

I used a bit of glue dots, rolled them up, and gave a bit of hidden layer underneath the end of sentiment to keep it level.

Supplies:
CB Daisy Chain ef (inked with Ranger DIs and spritzed)
   PTI Mat Stack die
   MFT Doubly Amazing die
The inspiration came from FMS #422 sketch

Thank you all for stopping in, and for all your wonderful support and compliments!  I adore you guys!!!

Hugs,

Beautiful Butterfly

This card was made for a challenge over at CTS #357 and I think it fits the bill, I hope it isn't so subtle that it doesn't work.  I'm happy that I put this on SSS Fog cs or else the texture would've been even harder to see.  However, I'm okay if it doesn't, they're the judges, and I trust the process.
Here's their sketch ~

For the stripes, I decided to use texture instead to change it up a bit...

For the "stripes", I used embossing paste through a stencil, first translucent on the top, white in the middle, and pearl .  I first masked off the center and used paste for the upper and lower sections, and lastly through the middle.  Just underneath the lower portions of the wings, you'll notice a couple dots that actually have two pastes within them.  I also masked off the lower and upper edges like the sketch, leaving room for a sentiment later.   The butterfly was colored with Copics and fussy-cut.  Last but not least, I used a border edge to define the edge a little more.

I'm so glad I could make the challenge, even if deemed that it doesn't fit, it stretches me and I enjoy the process and comraderie.  Thank you for the opportunity to grow.

Supplies:
   SSS - Circle Dots stencil
   E by E - Be The Change

Hugs and Sunny Day Wishes to all,

A New Beginning

Squeaking in to post a card for a co-worker heading to a new job so I wanted to wish her well.  Not much time left in the challenge over at Freshly Made Sketches #420, so I'll get on with it.  Here's their sketch, love it!

And my card...

Ok so you all heard my woeful water coloring attempts, but I'm happy with this one.  I'm definitely not a pro but when you're happy with it...  go for it!  I had this die cut already on my desk in a pile to use so thought it would work perfectly with the sketch.  I colored it with Zigs, waited for it to dry and glued it onto the circle.  A pale gray was inked for a minimalistic background, then heat embossed the sentiment and cut it out.

A close-up of the background and shine, which is hard to see ~

SuperBowl is about to begin, so better wrap this up.  Hope everyone had a terrific weekend, and I'll see you all soon!

Supplies:
   MFT Blushing Flower Branch
   MFT Linen Background
E by E Be The Change (sentiment)
   MCS Ornate Label die
