Peace Poinsettia

Greetings, Friends!
I made a card to play along Time Out #153 Wardrobe.  We're instructed to use something from our wardrobe, past or present.  I chose a comfy little number (haha - you gotta know me), which is actually just a v-neck styled baseball jersey that I happen to love because of it's color, so that's where my inspiration came from.  Oh and the twist, embossing or texture, and I'll let you guess where that is; the sponsor is Poppystamps, so I've used a couple of their products.  Onto the card...

I'm doing so well with Christmas, that I thought I'd keep up the momentum!  Maybe this year I won't have to use 3 entire weekends to play catch up...  Anyway, I used a couple of dies, leaving the card CAS for the most part.  My shirt is burgundy with white stripes, so lots of white space.  And the gold?  Well it's Christmas.  After taking pictures, putting my watermark on them and looking closer, I decided the card was too plain so ran back down the craft room, added some gold pen around the edges, edited again and ta-da!  I won't bore you with my shirt because... well... it's showing wear because it's a favorite and I'm sure you get the picture anywhooo.  So I'll zip off and get this posted, and then be off to look at all of your lovely creations.

Supplies:
PS - Holiday Poinsettia die (after die cutting, just run it through again with a mat and it embosses)
PS - Peace, Love, Joy tags
DP - There was no tag, and I've had this for ages, just using it sparingly so unfortunately I can't say from where it came
   Gold thread, gold pen

Thanks for popping in today.
Hugs,
TK

Juggling

Hello again!
I ran across a challenge, and I knew I had to join, I mean who doesn't love adorable penguins?  While the challenge is Penguin Parade, my little guy is juggling life er snowballs!  And these snowballs are ala Michele (thanks again)!

I chose not to place a sentiment on the front, I didn't want to distract from all that cuteness!  I came up with the idea to have him juggle so I could use a couple of those adorable mini pom-poms from Michele.  Please do tell where you get those cuties.... and a close-up ~

A little ribbon for the tag, all tied off with memory thread -- anybody remember that?  I still have a bunch and found a color to match, I kinda like it.  I'll be sending this over to Christmas Kickstart #27.

Supplies:
   MFT Toasty Greetings
   MFT Wonky Stitched Rectangles
   RC Topped Off Tags

Well that's it for me today, hopefully I'll get a few more posted soon.  Thanks for vising me today, until we meet again.

Feel Better Florals

Howdy, Peeps!
I hope you don't mind if I call you that, because that's really how I feel -- My Peeps!

I finished another card done last weekend but haven't had time to post it.  This card came from a couple different tries, as I seem to be one that struggles with "water colors".  You see, it doesn't matter what product I use, I just don't seem to get the hang of it but I'm okay with that -- you can't be awesome at everything!  haha  I have to make several attempts before I actually come up with something I'm happy with.

For this card, I used an artsy-feeling stamp and tried to spritz the paper then stamp, no-go.  Then I tried to spritz the stamp after applying ink, no-go...  Lastly I just stamped and let the "artsy feel" speak for itself!  Maybe that's why it's already artsy?!

Again I used a dark charcoal gray cs and popped the angled stamped piece, cut a coupe "flags" with the sentiment stamped on one.  Easy peasy!  The reason I say "flags"?  Well you'll be impressed interested to see what I ended up using -- it worked perfectly!

Well thanks for stopping in and visiting, I'm so glad you did!  Best wishes to all to have a terrific, crafty weekend!

A Confession and a Challenge

OK so first things first...  Other than church and a short trip to the store, I spent my 3-day weekend in pajamas in my craft room!  While that's not bad, the number of "attempts" I made is positively horrendous!  I think I've just plum hit a wall...
I was actually trying to enter the Twofer Challenge with yesterday's post but after chatting with Cat, I saw that they were two cards about love and while different, were actually too close.  Trust me, this is not blame, but that my eyes have been opened.  Onto today and trying more cards with the same SSS Heart of Roses die, and unfortunately more similar.  Bummer!  Then TOTALLY by accident, I was looking for some pp, which got flipped onto my desk haphazardly and skidded underneath a negative from one of the previous heart cuts, and a happy accident happened...

Isn't that just the sweetest frame?  After that "accident", it sure was easy to pick the theme for this one  :o)   The base cs is actually dark gray but shows black, which is unfortunate.  Now onto coming up with a DIFFERENT card, different layout...  Again I hit a wall, so I went to help my daughter finish up dinner, clean the kitchen and then ta-da... a second thought!

Here they are together, one for a new home and one wedding ~

And because I told you I kept making something similar...

I like this one because of the semi-weeding...    I had difficulty placing it onto a background but then I came up with this dimensional ef that wasn't too girly -- sometimes difficult, especially when the card will be for Hubbs at some point.  I have to admit, I may not have to make another romantic card for a few years   :oP

These will be entered over at the Twofer Challenge #23

Supplies:
Card 1 ~ SSS Heart of Roses die (negative)
                  AE Home Sweet Home
                  BoBunny dp
   Card 2 ~ PTI Love & Marriage
Card 3 ~ SSS Roses for You
                  WRM Quilted Pinpoint ef

Well thanks for letting me confess, ramble and hopefully give you something worthy.  Hope everyone is staying safe and warm.  Take care all, til next time,

Hugs,
TK

Love & Happy Anniversary

Hello again!  A couple more cards, these to be entered into a couple of challenges.  I'll get right to it and let you get on with your day.  Card #1...

This card will be linked to The Flower Challenge #40 Shaped Cards.  It was made using some purchased shaped note cards and envelopes in silver.  I scored the top of one and attached it to the back of the top piece to make a card.

Card #2...

And the two together...

While I'm happy with the first, I found out that it is NOT easy (for me anyway), to weed out paper to reveal the double sided tacky sheets and sprinkle glitter in different colors for the second!   Unfortunately I have some stray glitter... I used the "outline cut" of the die cut from the first card, cut another in white and red, inlaid the red inside the white outline and then weeded sections to reveal the sticky then sprinkle white and hematite glitter.  The glittery piece was placed on the card front, and the negative popped up over to reveal the glitter below.  I then used the word die to add my sentiment cut from vellum.
Supplies:
Both - SSS Heart of Roses
   #1 - GKD Scripty Sayings
   #2 - PTI Love die

Well I've taken enough of your time but want to wish you well and hope your weekend is filled with lots of craftiness.  We're getting snow here but only a little, a little freezing rain but there are plenty of others with a lot worse weather so please take care!

Hugs,
TK

Today, Tomorrow, Always

Hello Everyone!  I spent a bit of time in the craft room today, so I wanted share and play along at a challenge.  I made this first one using the sketch over at FMS #418.

As you can see there's quite a bit of sparkle, hopefully not blinding though.  I love this die, and really like the way I did the sentiment.  I wanted to add some blue to the left side, and red to the right, so I layered the strip a bit and cut it on the angle.  I hope you all like it, this one I'm really happy with.  And next a close-up...

I weeded out a few areas of the heart to let the sparkle shine through.  I thought about piecing back in a few sections of green but opted to leave it open.

Supplies:
   SSS Heart of Roses die
   ME True Friends (sentiment)
   MFT Stitched Scalloped Edge

Well I'm off to maybe get another post started.  Hope all of you are well, safe, warm and happy!  Til we meet again, Friends ...

Hugs,
TK

Congrats - New Home

I'm baa-aaaack!
It seems I've been running amuck, not around my blog or web-o-sphere much through the holidays but I'm getting back on track, and I've missed everyone!

My youngest daughter, son-in-law and grandson just had their new home built and it's finished.  They've moved into their new home and have resided there about a month, and this will be given to them at their Open House this weekend along with a gift ~

While their house isn't brick, I hope this evokes a "homey feel", welcoming all who enter.  Brick, I say?   Yep, look close... I inked the ef with white pigment ink and ran the gray cs through my spiffy new Big Shot Express (thanks, Hubbs)!  You'll also notice the "backdrop" for the photo, yep another wonderful Christmas present from Hubbs!

This card will be entered over at TO #152, and I think you can see where I got my inspiration...

Supplies:
   Sizzix/TH - Bricked ef
MB - Small Madison Window and Shutter (NBUS)
Gina K - Wreath Builder (without using the templates so I could make it smaller)

Thank you for popping in and giving me a snippet of your day.

Hugs,
TK

Happy 90th Birthday!

You don't see a Birthday of this magnitude often, so it must be celebrated!  My aunt turned 90 and we had a pretty good "family reunion" to celebrate her.  Family is spread far but everyone somewhat close, and able to, came to see her.  This card is in her honor ~

I used two current challenges, CTD #574 - brown, red and white and CTS #353.  While the brown doesn't show well, I promise it is brown under the white flag holding the sentiment.  I used my beloved newer stamp (thanks, Rosemary, again!).  Here's a close-up ~

Supplies:
   Altenew - Rennie Rose
   SB Hemstitch Oval
   random sentiments inside and out

Thanks everyone for your time, visit and sweet messages -- you're awesome & mean so much to me!

Hugs,
TK
