Happy Birthday to Mom

Zipping in to post the card I finally made for mom, and guess what?!  It isn't purple!  I started out thinking it would have plenty of purple, but I strayed...  Needless to say, my Zigs surprised me and threw a slight hint of purple, but only for those that see it IRL.  So here's to Mom...

I fell in love with this Mondo Hydrangea stamp from Essentials by Ellen and then promptly FROZE at the thought of coloring it and really messing it up!  It's taken me awhile but I've had a bit of practice with my Zigs, so I dared to tackle it last night.  I stamped and embossed with a Ranger prismatic ep, to set off the lines, then colored it.  It was placed on a textured background stamp, "tacked" with a little foil tape, and sentiment added below.   Here's a close-up of the sparkle that pretty much hides in the photo above.

I'll be entering this over at Time Out #136, and here's their inspiration:

In other news, I wanted to thank every person who has fearlessly and boldly served our country; and for family and loved ones of the service men and women who stood by proudly while they served.  We personally have family and friends who have served, and it makes me honored just to know them.  Hope each of you enjoyed your weekend festivities!

Hugs,

Pretty in Purple

I made this card with my mom in mind, and then somehow changed my mind.  So NOW I still have a card to make for Mom!  Oh well, we have the right to change our mind, don't we?  You see, my mom adores purples, of all sorts, so that's where I started, and a bit of blue all blended in, then a bit of bokeh.

The scripty word was layered a few times and attached, leaving the top of the loop not glued down, allowing for my balloons to be tied to it!  Oh, and a little party hat popped onto it.  I used a silver thread for the balloons;  silver, purple sparkles and deep purple for the balloons.   I won't tell you how LONG it took for me to tie that tiny little thread around those balloons so it would stay!  Let me tell you, my fat fingers were not helping!  And a close-up...

Thank you for the visit, and as always, I'm blessed to call you guys Friends!

Hugs,

Twofer Challenge #16 - Wheels:

Hopping in for a fast post, trying to make the deadline before it's too late once again.... I think most of us can relate!  I had "wheels" and I had ideas, so here's what I'm sending over to Twofer Card Challenge:

Here's card #1:

This first card is an encouragement card, using The Cats's Pajamas "Wheel Love".  I stamped the image as a tone on tone backdrop, then popped up a fussy cut image on white cs but left him with only his deep blue ink.  The sentiment came from the same set.

And card #2:

A thank you card uses the same bunny, sorry for the obnoxious whiskers, which disappeared when I colored him so I added back in with a much too big pen!  I colored the little guy with Copics, added a little "grass" pp to the bottom and left the inside blank until I know what my next thank you will be!

So here's the two, which will be posted shortly...

And thank YOU for stopping by!  Hugs to all, hoping you have a "hoppin' good day"!

Happy Mother's Day... even a few days late!

A quick post share a card I made for my mom!  She loved it, because well, she's my mom :o)

This was pretty quick, a popped up label die in a couple of sizes with the matching inside stamp, set over a few sprigs of greens.  I split the sentiment to frame out the.... well frame.

I decided to frame inside sentiment with a matching stamp, and a little more "greens" at the bottom".  I kinda feel like I'm talking in circles with all the "doubles", must be all the OT lately.... brain-fried, I believe is what they call it!  Oh well...

I do hope all you moms had a wonderful day and enjoyed your family.  And for those that don't?  I hope you had a superb day, surround by lots of love!  Thanks for poppin in, and sharing your day with me.

Hugs,
TK
