FMS #255, TO #66

If your name is Michele, and you know who you are, STOP!  Don't look any further cuz this one is zipping your way.  I didn't want to post, but I'm running out of time.  If you just can't handle the suspense, know that you should be holding it in your hands in a couple days.

I used the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches, and turning it on it's side, and went from there.  From the Time Out challenge, I drew inspiration from the autumn colors, even though the image is not exactly autumn (you'll see what I mean).

Here's my card...
And a close-up...

Products:
Stamps -  HE Home Sweet Home, JD Home Sweet Home (both NBUS)
Dies - MFT Stepped Up Chevron (new)
Paper - Neenah 80#, PTI Terracotta Tile
Ink - PTI Dark Chocolate (sentiment), Kraft, Terracotta, Summer Sunrise

Whew!  Thanks again for stopping by and sharing in my crafting!
Hugs,
TK

MUSE #184, CASology: Frame - So Sweet

I have a few thank yous to send cards for, but just the one for now.  This one goes to a sweet neighbor for all the help with Daughter #3's Wedding Rehearsal Dinner.  The dinner was at our place, all homemade, but this sweet neighbor helped me stage, watch food levels and clean afterwards, which allowed me to enjoy and visit with new in-laws and friends.

Playing with my Inka Gold recently, I made several sheets in different colors.  I used two sheet with blue and silver for the frame and flower, and a green and gold for the leaves.  The second sheet of blue and silver was used for the outline of the flower, since it was a bit darker in color.  Leaving the center of the flowers in white, I used gold gel pen, and then glue with glitter to add a bit more interest.  Here's a close-up...

This will be going to MUSE 184, using Jenni Murray's inspiration, below.  I used her colors, floral image and frame for inspiration.  I changed her inked image to a die cut, as was the frame.

And going to CASology: Frame -

Forever -- Wedding Wishes

Quick post.... a Wedding card for my youngest daughter, her nuptual just yesterday.  I made this, it seems it took me forever, I couldn't seem to get the color I wanted, the idea I wanted wasn't working.... you know the routine.  Anyway, this is what I ended with, I hope they e)njoy it.

I started with a smooshed Inka panel with two colors.  I let it dry and added another layer, with thicker (less spritzing) paste to add deeper colors and let that dry again.  I then used the cover plate and cut the floral layer out of vellum and used Multi Matte Medium to attach it to the panel around the outer border and a few random spots, trying to make them inconspicuous.  I then embossed the sentiment on a thin strip of vellum and added a few sparkles.  Inside, the sentiment says "two hearts become one".  Here's a close-up of the shine...

Products:
TH Watercolor Paper, Ellen Hutson Vellum
   Inka Gold Steelblue and Silver
NBUS Bed of Roses CP (Essentials by Ellen)
   Love & Marriage (PTI)
HA Silver EP, HA Silver Shadow Ink

The wedding was a beautiful nautical theme, with the colors actually navy and silver.  Nautical decorations abound,  some of them homemade, a sailboat topper on the cake, attendee signatures on a handmade wooden anchor by the Hubbs, "messages in a bottle" for the bride & groom, groomsmen wearing "hawaiian" sailboat shirts and bridesmaids wearing homemade dresses by the bride.  It was quite awesome!

Well, enough of me, hope your weekend is amazing and that you all get to play a little in your craft rooms.  Thanks for stopping by, and thank you ALL for the love you leave!

Quick & Easy Birthday

Had a couple Birthdays, and no cards, and even less time.  So, these were put together really fast...  Not that I think these are my best work, but definitely not my worst, but it was the reactions that were elicited that I really enjoyed -- isn't that what this is all about?  Well for me it is... I love giving cards that I've made, but the reactions are awesome too!  So here they are...

Supplies:
Papers - PTI New Leaf, Blueberry Sky, Neenah 80#
Ink - PTI Smokey Shadow, New Leaf and Blueberry Sky (last two inside)
Die - SSS Big Word Pop: Scalloped
Stamps - SSS Sending & Wishing, ME Origami, HA (OWH) Missing Ewe
   Copics

Not sure how I worked this out, but everything except the ME stamp (including the SSS die) are all NBUS!

Thanks for stopping by!  Hoping your weekend was great, and the next week blesses your socks off.

NBUS #7

Here's my second entry into Darnell's NBUS #7 Challenge where we're challenged to use our "Never Used Before Schtuff"!   Since this stamp set and die was a recent gift from Miss Darnell herself, it's definitely in my NBUS stash.  Since one of these is on its way to her, here's to hoping she got it before this posts --- if not, she'll have to guess which one is hers (PS I won't tell you what the inside sentiment says)!  I think this is a perfect use, where I actually made several varieties of the same card.  Here's a few to peek at...

#1 Subtle but sincere...

#2 I think my favorite... (well except the one where I put Flower Soft in place of the popped up die cut for a tail, which I sadly did not get a photo of)

#3 My favorite color combo...

A close-up of that adorable little tail...

And here they are, all lined up and pretty...

Products -
Stamps:  PTI Polka Dot Parade #1, PTI Thanks All Ways, Inkadinkado Kid Quotes
Die:  PTI Polka Dot Parade #1
Ink:  HA Soft Granite, Memento Gray Flannel, PTI Spring Rain & Harvest Gold

Well, there you go, my second addition to this wonderful challenge!  Thanks for stopping by and having a look-see!!!  Hope your weekend was amazing, and your weekend continues in that mode!

Hugs,
TK

Encouragement - Hugs

Hello, Friends!
I was recently encouraged to use this die by a friend who has the new release to it, so here 'tis!

What a fun card, huh!  The die sentiment wraps from each side to interlock, and give a sweet hug to the recipient!  This was quick and easy to make, just following Jennifer McGuire's wonderful instructional video.  I did make myself a "template" like she suggested, and put it in the envelope with the dies for future use (how smart is this woman?)!

So one card was sent to my "encourager" as encouragement, and the other sent to Daughter #2 since I miss her so!

Products -
Die:  Concord & 9th Hugs Cardfront (NBUS)
Paper:  PP from MS Botanical 12 x 12

And since I couldn't find a good challenge to fit into (since I totally missed the SSS Hip to be Square), this'll have to stand on its own for today.  Thanks for stopping by!

ETA:  Yikes! I forgot Darnell's NBUS #7 Challenge!  I'm heading there now...

Hugs (literally),
TK
