Wish Big!

I made this card, to send to Darnell, to wish her a great Birthday! Yes, I was late to the party, but even later because she had to get it before posting...  So this was made with MUSE #173, Anita Bowden's beautiful card in mind (I'll post it below even though I totally missed the deadline).  The inspiration is obvious, but here's mine...

So I sponged the background, stamped the flower off-edge, clear heat embossed, splattered some water, added the sentiment, matted it and stamped the flower again, without color behind the sentiment inside.  A close-up (I was really hoping you'd see the shine from the embossing but alas I don't think you can)...

Supplies:
Stamps - Stampendous "Fresh Bloom", PTI Birthday: Stylish Sentiments
Ink - R Spiced Marmalade, Wild Honey and Squeezed Lemonade
  Other - Ranger clear embossing

So here's Anita's inspiration:

Thanks for stopping by, and hope your week is an awesome one!  I have another busy one preparing for Royal Family Kids' Camp (only 3 more weeks), my mother-in-law is in town, and I have my 4 year old grandson!  Life is awesome, but busy!

Happy Birthday, Neighbor!

Have you ever had the honor of knowing someone that is just a wonderful, helpful, fun-loving person that just blesses your socks off?  Have you ever known one of those people, who then has an amazing spouse too?  Well, that's our neighbors.... We love 'em and love to spend time with them.  His Birthday is almost always a big event, put on almost solely by his wife who invites more people than I even know (easily 80+ this year, over 120 some years), and pulls it all off without a hitch AND without sweating it!  In their yard, they have animals on springs, a two-level treehouse that actually has a car up there too, then there's the tire swing, and then a rented bouncy house for the day.  Tony is someone who seeks out things to thrill his grandkids, including a rotisserie hot dog cooker, a snow cone machine, cotton candy spinner, and a popcorn cart!  Yes, all of that fun belongs to him except the bouncy house!
Well, this card went to him...

The party entailed smoked meats, salads galore, baked beans and mexican rice.  Then came the pinatas, two this year, followed by cupcakes, blueberry crisp and ice cream galore!  Wow, I think I just gained weight writing this...

A smooshed distress ink panel, inside an embossing folder, a stamped hand-cut balloon (highlight made by stamping pigment white on top of blue) with twine, a cut banner and stamped sentiment.  The supplies include -
Paper:  Essentials by Ellen woodgrain, Strathmore WC, blue scraps, and Neenan white 80#
Inks:  Ranger DI Twisted Citron and Salty Ocean, PTI Blueberry Sky, HA Cup O Joe and Unicorn White (P)
   EF:  The Paper Studio Mesh
Dies:  Sizzix Grand Lg Labels, Sizzix Ribbon Banners
Stamps:  Altenew Birthday Greetings, PTI Birthday: Stylish Sentiments

Whew!  That's a lotta stuff!  And, yes, the ef, both dies, and both stamp sets were NBUS!  Woohoo, I might be getting the hang of this!  Hope to see you around soon, loving this time of getting back into my little room, even if it is only to post...

Hugs,

You're In My Prayers

This card was actually made for my eldest daughter to give to her special co-worker, a person who has blessed my daughter greatly.  She's going through some health challenges, and my daughter wants to lift her up, and pray alongside her and her family.  So, here's the card (I donated others to the cause as well)...

A water colored panel added to a tri-colored background (kinda reminds me of ice cream & spumoni!), using the lightest pink border as a place to land my sentiment.  A messy nest of silver thread added under the panel, and the sentiment stamped in silver too.  And a close-up you ask?  Yep, here it is...

I apologize but I lost my stickie that had the name of the scribble flowers (and they conveniently went rogue) but here's the remainder of the list of goodies I used -
Stamps:  PTI Beautiful Blessings, and those elusive flowers that I can't seem to find now
Other:  Zigs, HA Silver ink, white embossing powder and a little shimmer mist thrown in

Thanks for stopping by again, even though I'm not included in any challenges.  Hope your weekend is just marvelous!

Hugs,

Welcome, Madelyn Ann!

This little diddy was sent to welcome a sweet little baby into the world!  She was born to our niece and her wonderful husband last month, and appears to be quite a wonderful joy to all.

A piece of pp, cut to size, was added to the cardstock, a diagonal pink snip, the baby word and couple snippets of heart cuts from the leftover piece of smooshed Inka Gold.  I stacked the baby word die over 4 pieces of white cardstock to add a little dimension.  Inside, a gift card was enclosed and a sweet baby blessing.  And a close up....

Paper:  Neenah 80#, SSS Carta Bella "Spring", PTI Sweet Blush, SSS Doll Pink
Dies:  MFT Wonky Stitched Rectangle, Lil Inker On The Diagonal, PTI baby

The card has been sent and received, so it's safe for posting.  Unfortunately, I think all of cards were to match up with challenges, but alas, I could not get them posted in time!

Thanks for stopping by, and please be patient with my absence and then "cramming" to get caught up.  Hope I can get online to see all of your wonderful creations soon!

Belated Father's Day post

Well you've noticed I haven't been around much, but I have gotten a few cards made in this time.  I was unable to post them for various reasons, but I'm gonna get to that now...  My first is a card I made for my dad, very late but made with loving thoughts just the same.  So without further ado -

I used a smooshed panel of Inka Gold, then cut using a cover plate.  The pieces were arranged, then a couple banners cut along with the letters.  All were applied to the cardstock, and here's the deets:

Dies:  PTI Harlequin cover plate, PTI Father's Day, PTI Smooth Alpha and My Craft Spot (closed) Banners: Straight.
Paper:  Essentials by Ellen woodgrain, Strathmore WC paper, PTI Smokey Shadow and scraps of blue
Other:  Inka Gold Steelblue and Silver

And in addition, a bunch of the dies are NBUS!  Yay!  I did it, Darnell!!!
Here's a close-up to see the texture a bit!

Well I've missed my Craft Room immensely, but even more all you sweet people out there.  Hopefully no one has given up on me, and I can post a few more cards...  Blessings to all, hope your week is going great.

Hugs,
TK
