Happy Birthday, Daughter #2!

As you can tell by the title, yesterday was a daughter's Birthday!  Though sad that she lives so far away, we were able to see her just after Christmas during a lightning vacay to Denver.  We are so proud of her!

I made the following card -

And here's a close-up of the lines and shimmer from the sentiment.

I first penciled in the diagonal lines, stamped the flowers, the used a Copic multiliner to go over the pencil lines.  I finished off embossing the sentiment in silver and adding glossy accents to the center of each flower.

CS: PTI Harvest gold, Neenah 80#
Ink:  Memento Rose Bud, Pear Tart, Bahama Blue and Dandelion
Stamps:  flowers - PTI Mini Blooms, sentiment - Clearly Besotted Beautiful Friend
EP:  Hero Arts Silver
Glossy Accents

Thanks for stopping by and sharing my daughter's card with me!

CASEplorations: February 2016

This card is also in honor of Anita!  She actually encouraged me to join this challenge, and since it's her Birthday (Happy Birthday again), I thought I'd go ahead and post this today since it's also CASEing her.  Here's her original beauty -

CASEplorationsFebruary2016

Here is my kard...

I used her blended ink, ink colors, sentiment with a heart accent, and die cut edge.  My word was die cut from glitter paper, and my accent is quite a bit bigger.  Everything was popped up on foam, then mounted on the kard.  Thanks for the invitation, Anita!

Ink:  DI Picked Raspberry, Orange Marmalade, Spun Sugar and a little HA Silver Shadow
Die:  MB Piestra Tile, PTI Big Hugs
Sentiment: PTI Big Hugs
Misc:  fun foam, Colobok heart gem

Til we meet again...

Happy Birthday, Anita!

Somewhere along the line I snagged Anita's Birthday and kept it hidden away, then leading up to today I didn't hear any hints and I started doubting myself.  Well, fortunately I made a kard and awaited to see what would be posted today. Lo and behold, a LOT of celebration!  So, here is my kard, Anita!  Hope your day is amazingly awesome!

I used the die cut in silver, overlaid another full die of white paper and colored with my Zigs, then added the sentiment and a silver strip along the bottom.  I actually started out with soft colors, then thought the boldness stood out better.  Oh! and because I know she loves WoS, I used it on the center yellow!  And....since you can't really see the shine of the silver, here's a close-up that shows a little more, I hope!

So, from Washington state, USA all the way to France, Best Wishes!

Die:  PTI - Floral Flaps
Paper:  Neenah, DCWV Foiled
Ink:  HA Soft Granite
Zigs

Hope everyone else is blessed with a beautiful day as well!

Happy Valentine's Day, Hubbs!

He truly is my Valentine, everyday! Love him to pieces, he could not be more perfect to me...   So here's his card (now that he's seen it cuz he follows me -- teehee)!
So this card started with a "faux mother of pearl"  panel ala Loll, on watercolor card with Distress Inks and a pearlized white paint.  I used her wonderful tutorial, and played with a few different inks.  I thought this one fit best, then used a die for the heart, using only the positive.  I also added a small die arrow to point to "my heart".

I then heat set the sentiment on a strip of "cloudy" vellum with silver EP, applied it with vellum tape under the side edges, then sprinkled a few sequins...
I finished off the inside with a sentiment as well.

Sending to:
   Happy Little Stampers - Paint
   CASology #184 - Valentine

Inks: Distress, VersaMark, and VersaFine inside
CS:  Neenah, Ranger W/C, PTI Blueberry Sky
Die:  Concord & 9th - Layers of Love, PTI - Sketched Shapes
Sentients:  Mama Elephant - Bear Hugs
Misc:  Ranger silver EP, PPP sequins, pearlized paint

Thanks for joining me, and have a WONDERFUL Valentine's Day with your loved ones!

Congratulations - New News, New Life

Well, life happened again... It's been a whirlwind around here, and things are still a-changin'!  Between our latest news and the Broncos WINNING SuperBowl 50, we've been a busy house.

So, my youngest just got engaged (Yes, Andrew being a complete gentleman asked Trish's dad for her hand in marriage!), and I wanted to drop a personal note to both of them.  So yes we knew it was coming but...  Here's the card, but it won't be posting until after they get it in the mail -- Andrew is preparing a "home" for the future!  (ETA:  Trish is our daughter, Andrew is the new fiance - cuz apparently I didn't make that clear enough earlier - sorry)

These silly young folks both LOVE plaid, so I thought that was in order.  I used blues and greens, and popped up the sentiment.  The inside was totally handwritten, from me to them.  The only unfortunate thing about this whole card is that I can't make it fit into ANY challenge!

Cardstock:  Neenah, PTI Blueberry Sky
Inks:  PTI
Stamps/die:  PTI Super Stripes and Congrats/matching die

Thanks so much for being patient in my absence, hopefully I'll get more time in the next week!  See you soon...

Heart A-Glitter

Another Valentine's Day card I made but didn't get posted...  Wow, two in two days -- what's up with that?  Anyway, on to the goods!

Another simplistic photo, not the greatest, maybe I'll get the hang of it soon (I'm sure you're all hoping so)!  Anyway, I embossed the white cardstock, then stamped over it in a "text" stamp, cut a heart and banner, heat embossed the sentiment and bingo!

Playing at:
  CASology #184 - Valentine

EF:  Cuttlebug - Heart Blocks
Sentiment:  Fiskars - Holiday Hooplah
Ink:  Memento - Ladybug Red
Misc:  Heart cut from Cricut, Glitter paper, silver EP, silver pearls

Hope you have a wonderful day!  Rain expected here -- great when you're trying to move someone... Later!

Flowers & a Heart

Long time no hear, but I'm back for a bit -- lots happening around here...  Also, I apologize for the "carpet shots" but since it's dark out, it's the best I could get!  Here is a card that I was aiming for Valentine's Day, but too girly for my Hubbs, so it'll go un-stamped into my stash until I find a use for it.  I started by watercolor "smooshing" a piece of regular cardstock, then cutting into it for the heart, layered up 3 times and inlaid into white cardstock.

I then cut the flowers, watercolored them with ZIGS, layered them up, and attached them above the heart.  The whole panel was then placed on colored card.

I really like the watercolor on the heart, a pretty good success...

Anyway, then I added Crystal Stickles (a green tint to accent the leaves) to the flower centers and in a few dots around the heart.  I'm pretty happy with this card, one of my better successes, IMHO!  As a bonus, I used my new, but still NBUS die (new but unused, I hope that counts) and got to play with watercolors.

Paper: Neenah 80#, PTI Blueberry Sky
Die:  Concord & 9th - Layers of Love
Misc:  Concord Distress Ink, ZIGS, Stickles

Thanks for stopping by, I hope to be back soon!
